Speaker 1:

It's mighty funny, you know, with the Lakers and Luka. It is. So what have you done for me lately? Because he comes out, Luka comes out and looks like he's 87 years old, okay, and all of a sudden the Lakers aren't going anywhere, and then he has one good game against. He has one good game against the. Brooklyn Nets are like some bad team yeah some awful team and then all of a sudden, oh Luka, oh Luka is doing it. It is the craziest thing to see.

Speaker 3:

No one talks about the bad game.

Speaker 1:

The up and down nature of this team. The up and down nature of this team. With that said, I've got the Lakers in five. Okay, all right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. You know who it is? I am Derek Thompson.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Diego Thompson and I'm Christopher Davis, and who are we?

Speaker 5:

The Pick'em Pros.

Speaker 1:

We are the Pick'em Pros coming back at you in the house with a special episode, episode 131 of who you Got Father-Son Dynamic Duo Sports analyst, Christopher Davis. Man, we got a fire show for you today. Oh man, it's going to be so much fun. We're going to start off number one. Okay, it's been a few weeks, but well, no, it's only been about one week or so, it's been about two weeks. We got to give Diego the business for his Duke pick. He was so, so sure that Duke was going to win it, so we all are going to give him the business. So definitely give your comments on that. Show your love to Diego because we're going to give him the business. It's NBA time, y'all. It's finally time for the playoffs, Y'all ready man, it's NBA time for sure.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 2:

Hey, don't try to segue too soon, brother. Yeah, that's right, don't segue too soon. You're not getting ahead of this.

Speaker 1:

So we're going to give all of our picks East picks, west picks. We're going to pick every first-round series. We're also going to tell you who our finals picks are. Now we're on record, finally. We're going to do that. We're going to have the one and only Brianna on our sports Wood. We will also talk about KD's next landing spot. Where will he land? Okay, then we've got James McFarlane. We got James McFarlane joining us. We cannot wait to talk to him about his OKC Thunder as well as his West picks. And then we've got a fire debate to finish the show. Who's taking the last shot? Who should take the last shot from the Golden State Warriors? Is it Steph Curry or is it Hemi Jimmy Butler? We're going to talk about that First off man, how y'all doing Diego? What's up with you, man?

Speaker 3:

Doing good. Nba playoffs are about to start. Golden State Warriors about to kick off their playoff run. Looking forward to that. Especially after Duke, let me down.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're going to touch on that, don't you worry. We're going to touch on how Duke let you down.

Speaker 3:

We got the NBA playoffs coming up. No, I'm not even worried about that right now.

Speaker 1:

We can wait, can't we wait?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we can pause for a little second. I need my leg back from Lamar Jackson. Let's see what's happening.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, let's let it simmer a little bit how you doing my man.

Speaker 2:

I'm really good. I'm very excited for the Lakers playoff run. There's been a bit of a change in my tune. I'm feeling something in the air, so I'm just going to go see.

Speaker 1:

Feeling something in the air. All right, well, thank you everybody that makes this show go. We are growing. Thank you to everybody. Thank you to Joe here in the studio running everything for us. Thank you to Summer behind the scenes running the comments. Thank you to Brandon behind the scenes. Thank you to Aaron, mike, everyone that makes our shows at King's, which will be be at Kings next week on Saturday. We're almost sold out. Thank you to everyone that makes Pick'em Pro go. We really appreciate you all. All right, so, diego, before we tear you down, we're going to build you up a little bit. Man, so we understand that you were on spring break in Vancouver.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I was. How was that man? Yeah, it was awesome. It was a great city. You know a beautiful city. It was awesome.

Speaker 1:

Sounds good, sounds good. Did you catch any sports?

Speaker 3:

I caught the Warriors game while I was there. Yeah, I got to see that. I didn't get to see them play the Clippers, but I did see their playing game, so I was happy I got to see that, got to see that win. Also got to see the Mavs Kings.

Speaker 8:

Got to see Clay bounce back Mavs are still alive.

Speaker 1:

Mavs are still alive. Alright, okay, alright. Well, you know what? Let's not? Let's not. Yes, international man. That's right, baby, international man. He is an international travel man traveling with your uh mandarin team there at ravenscroft. So that's awesome. I'm happy you had a chance to do that. Shout out to your mom for uh, for funding that. So, uh, big, big props to mom, all right. Well, let's uh get into what we wanted to talk about here. Let's get into the big diegoacle, All right, let's get to our first slide here with Diego, all right. So, man, diego, why don't you just tell us about that game that you were very confident and just went a?

Speaker 3:

different way, you okay? Yeah, I mean it's been two weeks. I mean it's Warriors time, you know, it's championship time, you know.

Speaker 2:

Come on, not for Duke, we're not even worried about Duke now.

Speaker 3:

No, not for.

Speaker 1:

Duke, not for Duke.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, that was an interesting game, you know. It went from being up a lot I thought we had it. I was leaned back, ready to celebrate and then I went leaning against my chair because it was closer, then just went tumbling on the ground. So I was in disbelief, it was crazy.

Speaker 1:

It was very reminiscent of the Big 3 Miami Heat when they lost the first season against the Dallas Mavericks. And then Chris Bosh. As soon as he got back almost to the locker room, he just collapsed and fell out. It was very similar to that y'all. So I know we went easy on you at first. We didn't really post anything on social media, we let you gather yourself. So I honestly felt bad for you. But now that it's been a little bit of time, we got to get a few licks in on you, man, a few licks in on you, man.

Speaker 2:

I'm just imagining that whole. You know the video where Russ throws the interception to Malcolm Butler. You see Richard Sherman's face. Yes, I'm just imagining that's the end yes, that was it.

Speaker 1:

That was it. Oh, no, that was definitely it.

Speaker 2:

Everything's just collapsed, dude.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you know it is what it is. That was definitely it and, like a typical father okay, I did tell you. So I told you that my Houston Cougars I told you they were going to get up in your chest Did they win it all.

Speaker 3:

You said they were going to win it all.

Speaker 1:

They were going to roll those shorts up and they were going to get into you. Emmanuel Sharp, I told you it was a bad matchup for Duke. You got let off the hook last year when she got hurt, but now this year you had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide my Houston Cougars. They had to put it on you. It hurt me so much to do that? I don't think it did it hurt me so much.

Speaker 9:

It really really did Okay.

Speaker 1:

But, like I said, I told y'all who was going to win. Okay, I told everybody UConn was going to win the women's championship.

Speaker 3:

I told everybody Florida was going to win the championship, didn't I guys? No, what did the bracket say? No?

Speaker 8:

The bracket said Houston and South Carolina.

Speaker 1:

I had a feeling you guys would disagree with me. I had a feeling you guys would disagree.

Speaker 5:

What about your final picks though?

Speaker 3:

That's okay. Let's go back to the show a couple weeks ago. No, no, that's okay. What about your final picks, though? No, no, no, that's okay, let's go back to the show.

Speaker 1:

Let's go back to the show. A couple weeks ago, y'all.

Speaker 3:

A couple weeks ago, here we go Put money on it.

Speaker 1:

I've got to say UConn. I believe that at this point I think smart money is on UConn. Y'all know I love, I love Houston. That was your sleeper team. I love Houston. When they get into tough possessions they just are not able to score. They just, overall, as a team, don't have enough offense to pull it off. So again, smart money I feel is on Florida this year.

Speaker 9:

See, that was in like January, that's an earlier clip.

Speaker 5:

That's not live. You want me to pull up your bracket? You literally switched the tape doesn't lie the ball don't

Speaker 1:

lie.

Speaker 6:

Hold on. Hold on.

Speaker 2:

No, no, no, the tape don't lie, the ball don't lie. I remember that was you said.

Speaker 3:

Houston will win the men's national championship, and they didn't. And you said South Carolina was going to win and they didn't.

Speaker 1:

I said again go back and look at the episode. I said my heart is with Houston. Okay, but smart money, my head is with Florida.

Speaker 3:

For the women.

Speaker 1:

I said my heart is with South Carolina, but if you're putting money on it, the team that's going to win it is UConn. I told y'all that I can't help it, that I'm so brilliant with this, I cannot help it. I can't help it.

Speaker 7:

We'll give you this because we know you're not getting any more picks.

Speaker 6:

You can have it. You can have it. I'll have a video of this. We'll give you this because we know you're not getting any more picks right. That's fine, you can have it. You can have it. We'll let you get that one.

Speaker 1:

I'm so happy I came prepared. I'll let you get that one. So one more thing before we go to the NBA Diego, all right. So Cooper Flagg. So a lot of other people have declared from Duke, okay, but Cooper Flagg, as far as I know less, something's broken in the last hour. Cooper flag is still not officially declared. I don't think Should he. Should he come back and try to actually become a top five player of all time? Or is he already a top five player? Why don't you address both, both of those fours at Duke.

Speaker 3:

As far as, like Duke top five players, players of all time, I'd say he's not there yet. That collapse kind of took him out of the conversation okay, but uh, I think he should come back. I think he should come back and uh set like a new trend for duke players. Uh, just staying one more year trying to get the job done, get this banner number six, so unc fans can stop, can stop giving us, giving us all this shade, because they're talking about 2015 was like 100 years before 2017 when they won. I'm just tired of that and I want to get a fresh, shiny new banner.

Speaker 2:

Your favorite rapper literally became famous and is a global superstar. In the time since, duke has won a championship, to be very fair, it's like three presidential terms ago. It hasn has won a championship, to be very fair, and also it's like three presidential terms ago.

Speaker 3:

So it has been a minute. Unc won just two years after People acting like 10 years ago was 100 years ago, and UNC won just like eight years ago. They did retire, coach K, so I'm just we also beat them three times this year and they lost in the first round. Good points Anyway. Cooper Flagg, you said he's going to take a month to decide if he wants to come back. So we'll see what he comes back with in probably about two weeks now.

Speaker 1:

So great take. What do you think, Chris, Should Cooper Flagg come back?

Speaker 2:

On the one hand, yes, because again you want to return a program to prominence and kind of like, prove, cement yourself. But on the other hand, it's like that NBA buddy, that that first round pick, that first overall pick, all every team's like clamoring and like wanting to take for you at this point. And you know, I mean, let's see. Hopefully, if he does go to the NBA, I need him to go to the Eastern Conference because, as we're about to shortly see, way too much talent in the West. It's crazy.

Speaker 3:

Charlotte will take him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, please, please, charlotte. If he declares, yeah, I feel you know, with the, with NIL in place, I think it's a real decision now, before, there wouldn't even be anything to think about. He would need to go pro. But my goodness, he could make $10 million, maybe more, and then you've got other endorsements and whatnot. So as far as money goes, it may be equal. And again he reclassed up.

Speaker 1:

So he is a young man, he'd still actually be like, you know, right, right. So you know, a lot of times you know you want to start the clock on that NBA money and whatnot, but I honestly feel that for all that it would do for his Duke legacy and the money that he can make, I actually think he should come back. Yes, definitely, I really do. And also, when I look from a generational standpoint, when I look at the players that were surefire first picks and were not going to drop if they stayed a year, I don't think any of them regretted coming back.

Speaker 1:

You look at Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning could have left. He really, really wanted to play another year and played. It still went number one. I'm sure if you asked him today, if he were to, you know, do it again, would he do the same thing? He would. Tim Duncan was the same same situation. Tim Duncan could have gone first. He came back. He just really wanted that experience. So all that it would do for his Duke legacy, I think that would be really cool. Yeah, so I would love to see and, like you said, it would start a trend. It really would start a trend.

Speaker 3:

I think Zion would have benefited from another year for sure.

Speaker 4:

Yes, Zion, that's not really a question, but I mean he's putting it out there.

Speaker 3:

He definitely needed another year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, all right. Well, no great great discussion there, all right, diego? Well, thanks for being a good sport man, and now we are going to finally, for your sake, move on to the NBA and get into our first set of picks here. Now, before we do that, we want to promote our next show at Kings. We are almost sold out. We literally have five seats left. Five seats left. So if you are planning on coming, have not gotten your ticket yet, you need to get it within literally the next day or so, because we are about to announce that this thing is sold out.

Speaker 1:

April 26th we have a fire lineup. It is going to be a great, great, great show. Cannot wait. Tons of guests, we'll talk about that a little more later. So, saturday next week at King, 7 pm Eastern, it's going to be live All more later. So saturday next week at king, 7 pm eastern, it's gonna be live, all right. Well, let's get into it, man, first round, we've got, let's start with the east. Okay, we've got the detroit pistons. Pistons are back, bad boy pistons, and they are bad boys again. All right, playing the favorite nicks. Diego, what's your take on this series, man?

Speaker 3:

man, I got the Knicks in six. I'm going to go with that, okay, actually, no Knicks in five, knicks in five, knicks in five.

Speaker 9:

The Pistons they're….

Speaker 3:

You want to go four, I'm going to stick with five. Okay, pistons, they're a nice team. They got Cade Cunningham. He's making a good player, but they just don't really have after him. They just don't really have any other guys that can just get buckets whenever, like I mean, they have Isaiah Stewart who's like the just kind of aggressor you know, plays good defense, sort of Draymond-ish for their team. They got Malik Beasley who can hit threes. They got a few other young pieces, but just not another like star that can get him there, while the Knicks they have Brunson Cat, you know, mikael Bridges, a bunch of other pieces. So yeah, I think the Knicks got it, the Knicks, knicks in five, alright.

Speaker 2:

I have the Knicks in six and it's going to be very. I think it's going to be very. I think it's going to be more contested than people think because again, with Tim's again running players to the ground or the, you also have to factor in the fact that like to me at least this whole season, you with the next, and like why they're the three CDs? Because they've continuously like played down to their competition and even when they like face like championship contending teams, they've gotten washed. So I feel like, if you'll be like they are a very good team.

Speaker 2:

Jalen Brunson has that playoff experience of being a dog. Carl Anthony Towns has moments where he like shows up and then he might, will, and then also you're depending on newer commodities like McHale and OG. I feel like Josh Hart's going to show up and bring that intensity either way. But then with the piston side of it, I mean you're playing with house money at this point. That's always the most dangerous thing in sports. When you literally have nothing to lose. You just being there is the moment I feel like if you're a hungry team, you're gonna want to like definitely push it now. Again, I do think the knicks over high of the larger talent, so that's gonna win out of the series, but I wouldn't count the pistons making this a very interesting series.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I think they're going to rough it up, make it physical. The Knicks aren't as physical as they were before, so I think a lot of the games are going to go down to the wire. That Madison Square Garden crowd, though, is amazing. The Knicks will definitely rise to the occasion with that intensity. I have the Knicks in five, but I feel that a lot of these games are going to go down to the last few minutes, I think it's going to be a very entertaining series, a fun series, I hope Detroit reps for the city it's just great when they're in it Shout out to all the Detroit family as well.

Speaker 1:

We got the Knicks on this one. Let's move on to the next series. I think we're going to make a quick work of this because we don't want to get into financial trouble like ESPN did, because this is going to be a snooze fest. You know Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks man, this is an NBA TV special so I think this is going to be on NBA TV.

Speaker 2:

It was actually on ESPNU, which is crazy, right? That's diabolical streaming. Only they put the Super Bowl on Tubi. Let's be fair to Tubi now. We can't use Tubi like that. That visual is on fire. We can't even put it on Tubi, we gotta put that on Crackle or something like that. That is ridiculous. So, diego, who do you have in this one? I, we can't even put it on.

Speaker 1:

We got to put that on crackle or something, something like that. That is ridiculous, all right. So, diego, who do you have in this one?

Speaker 3:

man, I got the Milwaukee Bucks in seven. The only reason I have it going this far is because of Dame and his injury. He's out for the first game but he should be coming back a little later in the series. But I do think Giannis will be able to win them if he will be able to carry them for at least a game or two. And when Dame comes back, they're just going to take care of the Pacers, so yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I have the Bucks at six. Yeah, it's going to be a tough watch, it's going to be a little bit boring, but I just want to see Giannis, you know, do his thing and kind of like return to that form again. Like you see, the numbers he's putting up and the fact that he hasn't been put in like mvp conversations, it's kind of crazy and I feel like it's more so like well, it's the east and you're like not dominating in the east like you typically were. So I feel like that's why the bias is there. But again, goddess is still top two player in the world to me personally, so I definitely want him to show out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah okay, all, all right. Well, I'm going to surprise you guys. I've got the Pacers. I've got the Pacers in six with this series. I feel that Milwaukee's been struggling. They've only won one playoff series in the last few years. Dane is out, at least game one. When he comes back, he's certainly going to be rusty, so because of that, pacers will be fired up. Of course they feel disrespected. So they're going to come out and Tyrese Hallenburton will be doing his thing, unless it's really crunch time. Then he'll start passing the ball more than Magic Johnson. But yeah, I've got the Pacers to win this one in six, just because Milwaukee is not going to be at full strength in my estimation.

Speaker 1:

All right, okay, okay, well, let's get off on that one before people tune, tune away. Okay, let's keep the ratings going here, let's move on. So, oh man, the boston celtics number two, seeded boston celtics, which sounds so strange to say. Right, yeah, uh, take, try to take on the Orlando Magic. So the Magic won their playing game, took care of business, blew their opponent out and here we are. So, diego, who do you got in this one?

Speaker 3:

I got the Boston Celtics in five. I think Orlando gets a game at home with Paulo, but other than that I think the Celtics just take care of them and then go on to the next series.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right, it's Boston at this point. The playoff experience itself. It would be a crazy upset, but I don't see no any way that Boston does at least get in the conference finals for sure, for sure.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, boston is certainly a juggernaut. They are the defending champs and the team that feels disrespected, you did yeah, you picked them to win last year.

Speaker 1:

They did come through for you. Picked them to win last year. They did come through for you, so you got that one correct. I also, like you two gentlemen, I have the Boston Celtics as well, although I have them winning in six. So I think this series is going to go a little longer. I think it's going to take them a little while to get going. The Magic are going to play well, and also the fact that Jalen Brown Jalen Brown is dealing with an injury, so that may.

Speaker 1:

I think the Celtics are going to be a little slow getting out the gate. I think they'll gain momentum as they get into the second third round, but I think this is going to be a little more competitive than most people think in my estimation. So I've got the Celtics winning this in six. All right, okay, all in my estimation. So I've got the Celtics winning this in six. All right, okay, all right. Well, let's move on to the next one. Okay, we've got the Cleveland Cavaliers. Man, the number one seated calves, could have probably won 70, but it looks like they took their foot off the gas and kind of cruised as they got to the end, cause they built such a big lead. They're going to play the uh winner of uh, the hawks versus the heat, who always seem to be in the play-in. Yep, I'll be interested to see who wins that. So, diego, who's gonna win the showdown tonight between the heat and the hawks, and then who's gonna win the series overall?

Speaker 3:

unless it's a blowout right now. Um, I got the heat winning because they they, because they just always seem to bring it into play. Yeah, they got Tyler Hero scored 38 points in the last game against the Bulls, and then the Hawks. They seem to be losing their composure a little bit. Trey got ejected. It just don't seem the same. So I got them playing the Cavs and then that series. I got the Cavs winning a five. Okay, Cavs winning a five All right Easy series. Okay, cavs winning a five All right Easy series.

Speaker 2:

Okay, same, I have the Heat winning the Cavs a five. Because that Trey Young at that game I've never seen him like that, like frustrated with his team.

Speaker 9:

And.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if he's out of there. So I'm like, hey, if you want to trade that dude to San Antonio, pair with Webby, I wouldn't be too bad at it. But I'm just, yeah, I think Trey's, he's mentally checked out at this point. I don't know what's happening. I just yeah, okay, yeah, but either way, cavs are fine. It's going to be a quick series. It will be interesting to see what the Cavs do in the next round and like getting deeper in the playoffs, because again we have seen Donovan Mitchell show up and dominate in the first round and then it comes second round. He's doing a lot of the heavy lifting and his team doesn't necessarily about, so we'll see. Okay, all right.

Speaker 1:

We will see. Well, for this one again, for the heat Hawks. I actually have the Hawks with this one. I think the Hawks are the home team in this game, so I'm going to give them the edge. It's Friday night in Atlanta, hot Atlanta, okay. And so I think you know Trey is going to have one last memorable performance. He is one of the all-time great play-in players, so he's going to have it there. And yeah, I think Atlanta is going to be jumping tonight and they get it, but then they go and get swept by the cast.

Speaker 3:

So that's what I'm gonna predict here. I saw a stat from miami they've beaten the chicago bulls in the play in three straight years. Wow, wow, yes, that's crazy. Yeah that that is the annual play-in matchup, for whatever reason, my goodness.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, both of those teams are just stuck in mediocrity right now. So yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 1:

That is the annual play-in matchup for whatever reason, my goodness, both of those teams are just stuck in mediocrity right now. So, yeah, something there. Okay, all right. Well, let's move on to the next topic. Here. We are going to bring in the one and only Brianna. Let's bring Brianna in to join us, our athlete correspondent. What's going on? Hi, how are you? Hey, hey, great, how about you? Pretty good, okay. Well, we again want to touch base with you on all that you've been doing with Pick'em Pros. So, our new athlete correspondent here. You've been talking to a lot of big time athletes, and why don't you tell us about the basketball player that you interviewed recently? We're going to play a clip from that.

Speaker 9:

Yeah, I interviewed Brandon Wood. He currently plays overseas right now. He's really just a nice guy. He's very inspirational and the video the interview is really good.

Speaker 1:

Good, all right. Well, I'll tell you what. We have a minute clip from that. We're going to go ahead and play that along with the social media reel, and then, uh, we'll be right back. Okay, I'm putting money on it. Wrong one, here we go.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I pick them like a pro global trot ball. Talk a pick and roll. We're going up to score touchdown. This is not a field goal. We the winning team champions. When you walk through the hall, you can play your bet with us, Cause you know we're going to win them all. I pick them like a pro global trot ball. Talk a pick and roll. We're going up to score touchdown.

Speaker 9:

This is not not field goal. We, the winning team champions. When you walk through the hall, you can play your best with us because you know we're going one of them all. Yeah, the most memorable moment you had while you played in college, but that year, first game of the college basketball season november 11, 2011.

Speaker 6:

11, 11, 11. We played in san diego on an aircraft carrier against north carolina for my second time, magic Johnson our honorary captain. James Worthy, their honorary captain, president Barack Obama and Michelle Obama sitting on the sideline getting to meet them before the game and just playing on a game on top of an aircraft carrier you know that was. I mean it's kind of referred to as like the greatest venue college basketball game ever.

Speaker 1:

All right, that was yes. So you can see that on YouTube, see that on our channel, go to the my Sports Journey channel and or playlist, I should say, and you can see that full interviews that's about a 40 minute interview is a whole lot of great info that he shared with us. So what else do you have coming up, brie?

Speaker 9:

Yeah, so I had the opportunity as well to interview Will Hernandez. He plays for the Cardinals. That was a good interview. And I also interviewed Luke Little. He plays for the Cubs Also a good interview coming out soon.

Speaker 1:

All right, yeah, we'll be dropping those. I believe luke little is next thing he's dropping tuesday, if I'm not mistaken, and then the following tuesday we'll go ahead and drop. That will hernandez uh video. So, yeah, yeah, looking forward to that. Good, well, uh, we know again, you are in arizona, in the phoenix area, so we cannot let you go without talking about your guy, kevin Durant. Okay, now we know Booker Booker's your guy, guy, right, but KD is there right now and looks like he's going to be on the move. So where do you think KD will or should end up?

Speaker 9:

Yeah, well, in the first place, he should have never went to Phoenix, in my opinion, because they got rid of all of our younger players. That actually made our team good, which was annoying. But I don't know. I mean, a lot of people are saying Golden State again or OKC again or the Knicks even, because he was supposed to go to the Knicks in 2019, and then he never did, and then he never did. So I don't know. I feel like that would be cool to see him at Knicks, and Mikael Bridges is also there, who I also love, so I feel like that would be a cool duo to see, because they're both really tall players too. So I feel like they could do some damage. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I like that. Bree, yeah, seeing him there Now that would really be something for the Brooklyn back. But we all thought he was going to go to the Knicks and really surprised a lot of people by going to Brooklyn, so that would be very interesting. And then, yeah, teaming up with this old teammate. So I like that take. That would be very entertaining to see that happen. What do you think, diego?

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, I agree, I like the Knicks. I don't think OKC would be the move, because they've got so many younger guys and so many draft picks. They have a bright future. I just think Kevin Durant would mess it up.

Speaker 9:

He messed up the.

Speaker 3:

Suns yeah, he messed up the Suns, brooklyn, a few other teams, and I think the Heat need to rebuild too, because they already traded Jimmy and they got Bam, they got Tyler Hero, so I think they should just keep going in younger directions. The Knicks they're just ready to win now. I think they just need maybe one more star to put them ahead of the Celtics and Cavs. That would be the move.

Speaker 2:

My whole thing with the Knicks fit and why I do think that would be cool. And again, him being the basketball purist, him loving the game and him playing at Madison Square Garden would be cool. It's the fact that it's like who do you trade, who do you give up Because you're going to have to get rid of OG or Cat to make sure that they get the ball. So I would be, because I was also thinking like a younger team, like Houston, that would also be pretty good, but with all the young players, him kind of leading the charge there, that would also be good. But I just I don't know, while I would love to see him back in New York because, again, brooklyn, katie, regardless for the lack of playoff success, there was moments of just like wow, this is some of the best basketball you've ever played.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, with the Suns it feels disappointing at this point because it's like we know you as an all-time great and I know for Bree it's a lot worse. But I do think that KD deserves to be for me, just go where you feel wanted and just kind of where you can just keep hooping until the wheels fall off, because you still are your prime it's. You still are not contributing to winning anymore, and I don't know if you want to get another chip or if you just want to stay in the league because you love the game so much. So we'll see. We'll see, but I think Houston would also be a great team for him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think Houston would be a great fit as well and I feel that he was a good fit in in phoenix. I think the issue was more bradley beal. Bradley beal was not a good fit in phoenix and they never should have let chris paul go. Yes, chris paul, because, again, booker as much as we like booker right, they never went anywhere until chris paul got there. And then that's the. You know. You know, chris Paul really unlocked a lot for Booker and they were at a whole nother level. So they need a true point guard to really orchestrate and run run that team. So I think that was one of their biggest mistakes of letting letting Chris Paul go. So I think that's where they went wrong. And then, of course, bradley bill. It was just too many people playing the same position and then trying to have Booker play point. That just did not work at all. But let me tell you where I want to see Kevin Durant. I want to see Kevin Durant with the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 2:

Oh man.

Speaker 3:

I actually like that too. Yeah, I like that, yes, yes.

Speaker 1:

So again, everybody's getting all out of shape here about OK, no pun intended about us sending Luka Doncic. Ok, over to LA, but there is a method to our madness. Ok, we need to get more physically fit and we need to get the right pieces and build a new victory, All right. So what we're going to do is bring in KD, we're going to have Kyrie and we're going to have AD and with that big three we're going to take over. And you can book it right now the champions for next year, 26, will be the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right. Quick question with that, though? Didn't he just say defense was champions, championships, and that's the reason why they traded their five-time all nba player yes so what's the 37 girl?

Speaker 6:

kevin durango way better defense is a way better defender than luca just I'm not.

Speaker 2:

I'm not just kidding. He's a way better defender than luca. What I am saying, though, is that you're starting that retirement home, but then you don't got a bunch of picks in the future. So again, are you going all in for one rig after you made a colossal mistake? Is that what they're doing?

Speaker 3:

we're going, but like, how much really is it going to take to get kevin durant? I don't know if it would be that much, because luca, you didn't give up that much for luca right and kevin durant he's stupid like that's not even he is averaging less. He says less numbers and he's coming off a team that just lost a bunch of games. That was like the 12th seed in the West. So, um yeah, I don't think it would take as much as people think.

Speaker 1:

That is true. I don't think it'll take as much cause they know they're they got to get off them, yeah, so they're not going to get as much as they they would have before, before, yeah, but uh, yeah, all right breed you have.

Speaker 9:

Do you have something you want to throw in? I just want him out of phoenix all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, hey, phoenix, yeah, they definitely. You have some rebuilding to do, certainly have some rebuilding to do, so it'll be interesting to see what happens this off season.

Speaker 9:

It's gonna take a few years. Yeah, yeah, it's going to take a few years.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's definitely going to take a few years, but you've got a great fan base, great stadium, very entertaining, and the NBA is better when Phoenix is jumping over there. So it's like a nightclub the way everything is set up, so it's a real nice vibe out there. Yeah, all right, all right, bree. Well, we are going to go ahead and move on to our Westpix. But, thank you so much. We understand you've got a big, big trip coming up and a big competition, so good luck with that.

Speaker 9:

We all will be rooting for you to go ahead and take First? You want to tell us about that? Yeah, so I'm going to Seattle on Wednesday. So I'm going to Seattle on Wednesday, I leave and I'll get back Sunday. But it's basically a JEA national convention. Students from around the States we go and compete and we make a video or newspaper or yearbook I guess because newspapers aren't a thing anymore and everything else. So, like photography, video, yearbook, we all go and I'm in video. So I make a video and I made that video with my partner and then we're going to hopefully get first place. We got first place last year, so hopefully we went again this year.

Speaker 1:

Nice, nice, going to defend your title. Yeah, all right, we'll be looking out for that. Well, best of luck to you and we'll be looking out for it.

Speaker 1:

So thank you yes, thank you all right, all right, okay, well, so we'll be pulling for breed to take first again, and now we are going to go ahead and move into the west. Oh man, the stacked deep west. Every series is going to be fun to watch, so let's go ahead and get into this, guys. Let's start with the next one. Here we've got the okc thunder, the team that has, uh, possibly the mvp for this year. Sga the mvp. Okay, the the mvp, as diego says. Yep, they will be playing. The winner of the game tonight between the memphis grizzlies and the dallas mavericks.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yes, d Dallas is still in it All right still in it so Diego who wins tonight, and then who wins this series, and then how many games I'm actually really rooting for Dallas because I just hope that they're able to get into the playoffs.

Speaker 3:

give the fans a few extra games. Klay's been playing well so I'm happy for him, but I got Memphis winning it. I think that they will lose to the Thunder in five. The SGA would just be too much for them.

Speaker 2:

Too much war for them? I guess? Yeah, too much war. I got Memphis winning and then I got OKC winning the whole series. I have them in five as well. I do think that this first round needs to for OKC, they need to prove that the dominance of the regular season wasn't a fluke, because again, if they somehow lose, I think it gives that, like we believe, warriors, like with Dirk, with Dirk type, feeling you don't want to be in that position, especially with the fact that Memphis is very experienced, they could make it a little bit more dangerous. So I wouldn't be surprised if the series goes longer, but because of the regular season success and how OKC seems to turn a new leaf, I think that they win this in five.

Speaker 1:

OK, all right. Well, yeah, I agree with you completely, chris. I've got the Grizzlies tonight. As much as I would love to see Dallas stay in it, that would be a fun story, fun narrative, but I think the Grizzlies are going to be too tough. The Grizzlies are at home. The Grizzlies will definitely be going all out tonight. I think they pulled this game out and then I have OKC winning in five. I think Memphis is going to snatch a game from them at some point, but I think the OKC Thunder will go ahead and win this one at five. So, all right, okay, all right. Well, let's get to man.

Speaker 1:

These next three are not going to be so clear-cut as that okc series. So man this one, this series between the la clippers and the denver nuggets. This is probably, to me, going to be the best series out of all of them. And another opinion that I have on this one is, if you could pick one team that has the highest odds of winning, of losing in the first round or also possibly making it to the finals, is the Denver Nuggets. Yeah, you can see either happening with them and go OK, yeah, that's about right. Yeah, so this is can see either happening with them and go. Oh okay, yeah, that's about right. Yeah, so this is going to be great. But, diego, who you got and how many games?

Speaker 3:

for this one. I got the LA Clippers in seven. The Clippers, their players, are really turning back the clock. Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, they're just playing well. Kawhi playing like playoff Kawhi. I just think the defense the guy that got zubak playing like he's in the running for defensive player of the year and he can guard yokich. So I think that's that's gonna be. A big part of it is that they have a guy that can at least contain yokich a little bit.

Speaker 2:

So I'm going with clippers okay all right, you're going to clippers in seven all right, I have the clippers in six, which is even I might push that thing up to seven, because the Nikola Jokic factor of it all is what worries me about this series. I do think that overall, the Clippers have the better team, they have the better defense, but they got that magic man from serving you feel me, he's a dog. So I just I don't know. I really want the Clippers to win because I want to see Kawhi have a good series and James Harden, turning back the clock has been really good, but we've seen him sometimes with his playoff performances and sometimes he wants to do better. But hopefully those are all conquered and we see Kawhi, james Harden, finally give Clippers fans a little bit of hope of like oh hey, we're not, there's still a little brother, though let's, let's not get that confused but, still have a good moment of just like hey, it was PG's fault, we can fully blame him.

Speaker 2:

Let's just actively. We got a good team now, so let's Clippers do it.

Speaker 1:

Man Clippers. Well, yeah, this is going to be a great series, but y'all, come on now. The disrespect of the 10-time MVP Joker. Come on, Come on, y'all, come on now.

Speaker 6:

Clippers have Zubac, he's going to lock him up.

Speaker 2:

Listen, we thought we had 80, man, I just like, will you the one thing with playing your kitchen? This, as Lakers fan I can attest to this. There's no stopping him. You just have to pray every you got to hope everybody else decides to suck that night Because, again, if Jamal Murray, michael Porter Jr Show up, the series will get a lot more interesting. But because of their inconsistencies, this season I don't see that. But yeah, there's nothing you can do with yonkers, it's just he go get his. So you just gotta. You just gotta hope you slow him down a little bit, but even still, you just gotta hope the team around him just doesn't perform well, and I was. I don't know. I don't know. That's why I have it in six, but I can see it going either way. It's scary. Well, yeah, I have it in six, but I have it at six, but I can see it going either way, it's scary.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, I have it in six, but I have it in six for the Denver Nuggets. Okay, as far as the Clippers go. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, can't get fooled again, all right.

Speaker 3:

They don't have Paul George.

Speaker 6:

Now there's no, paul George, look man.

Speaker 1:

But look, man Kawhi, I am not falling for the banana in the tailpipe. I'm sorry, I am not. He is going to walk off the court in great fashion and then, all of a sudden, we'll hear something in the news 15 minutes before the next game about him being out. I do not trust it. This happened too many times. And then Harden with all of his playoff blunders I know, no, no, no, give me the nuggets.

Speaker 1:

They've got a little bit of rejuvenation, because it looks like, you know, malone, although hey fairly or unfairly kind of ran him out of there, they definitely seem to be responding to the new coach with these last few games. I think they're going to come in and have something to prove, and they do have home court as well. So I've got uh, I've got denver in six for this one. All right, oh, let us know, let us know who y'all got in this one. All right, okay, here we go. Man, oh boy, these last two can't wait to talk. Man, we got, uh, we got some homers here. Now we got some homers in the house. Okay, so we've got the number three seed LA Lakers. Wow, three seed LA Lakers All right, home court advantage. They've got Ant-Man. Ant-man, potential new face of the NBA. He's coming in town. Okay, as the sixth seed, diego Diego, who you got in this one man I'm going with the lakers and seven.

Speaker 3:

Um, I don't trust ant against luca. Luca has already shown that he he'll just little boy and do the whole series and go bear and go bear too. I just, I just don't trust him. Yeah, and lebron's gonna show up, luca, of course. Yeah, yeah, like lakers all day.

Speaker 2:

I have for my team. I got us at six. I'm not going to do a Lakers at five thing. That's not happening. I think that Anthony Edwards is too good of a player. With one of those home games and the energy of that Minnesota home crowd, he's going to snatch maybe one or two. I think that, yeah, how we're moving after this season. After seeing Luka's 45-point performance versus the Dallas Mavericks which again you know out of shape, but he put 45 on you I just want to say, hey, that's all I'm going to say about that, crying like a baby, yep, and then he dropped 45. So that's just throw that out there. I think that Luka is on a revenge tour. I think he was to that. The best way to say it to me is that you got to make him regret it. You got to make him remember, you got to make dallas realize that you made one of the greatest mistakes in nba history. So let's, let's start the run. Let me not get too ahead of myself. Let's start the run.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay. Well, it's mighty funny, you know, with the Lakers and Luka. It is. So what have you done for me lately? Because he comes out, luka comes out and looks like he's 87 years old, okay, and all of a sudden the Lakers aren't going anywhere, and then he has one good game against. He has one good game against. He has one good game against.

Speaker 3:

The Brooklyn Nets are like some bad team.

Speaker 1:

Yeah some awful team and then all of a sudden, oh Luka, oh Luka is doing it.

Speaker 3:

It is the craziest thing to see no one talks about the bad game.

Speaker 1:

The up and down nature of this team. The up and down nature of this team. With that said, I've got the Lakers in five. Okay, see nature of this team. With that said, I've got the Lakers in five. Okay, but big, but okay, I've got them in five.

Speaker 1:

Because, number one, ant, I don't trust Ant. Okay, I still can't unsee what I saw last year and the way that Luka went in there and became everybody's father. Okay, the fact that Ant let that man come in there and cuss Gobert out after scoring on him and then do all the stuff that he was doing to the crowd and Ant's supposed to be ATL, this and that and he let Luca just sit there and put his feet up on the couch and get a sandwich out of the refrigerator and didn't do anything about it refrigerator and didn't do anything about it. Right, didn't, didn't coke, didn't go up to him, didn't say anything to him. I'm like really, this man came in here and just completely dog jaw again. Yeah, I have no problem with minnesota losing to dallas last year.

Speaker 1:

That wasn't the point. It was the way they did it and the way they let, the way he let luca come in there and just talk to everybody the way they did and he didn't do anything about it. No fight, I can't unsee that. So if you're that way with Luka, then how are you going to be with Luka and LeBron and crew? No, no, no, I don't trust it. I think the Lakers get this one in five. Then everyone, like somebody over here, is going to get all excited. Santa Leica is going to win a championship and then they will proceed to then lose in the next round. So that's what I see happening, all right.

Speaker 2:

Look at, hey, clip this one.

Speaker 9:

This needs to be the clip that needs to be shown.

Speaker 1:

If we come on, come on, it's going to be fun, it's going to be fun, it's getting good to him, diego.

Speaker 2:

It's getting good to him. It's getting good to him. Let's get to the Warriors. Let's go, let's go.

Speaker 1:

All right. Now we will be joined by special guest uh, mr James McFarlane, here ina moment. We're going to talk about one more game and then we're going to bring him on and get his take on the West games, and then also our next topic between jimmy butler and steph curry. So we can't wait for that. But before we do that, we've got to get into this last series. Oh man, diego, series. We've got, oh man, but number two seed houston rockets, coached by my god you doka, okay, and they have the seventh seed, golden State Warriors, who barely won a play-in game, had to have a heroic effort from Jimmy Hemi Butler and Steph Curry just to barely win that game Lost to the Clippers at the end of the season. So they have somehow gotten into the playoffs and now we have this matchup here. So, diego, who do you have between these two teams? I got the Warriors and six.

Speaker 3:

This should be pretty light. I'm being nice giving the Rockets two games actually, but Emei Udoka we beat Emei Udoka in the finals just a few years ago, so we have a finals win over him. And you say it's a 2-7 matchup. True, but there's only a four-game difference between the Rockets and the Warriors, so it's really tight. The Warriors they got Jimmy, Jimmy and Steph. Jimmy went off for like 38-8-7 in the playing game. Steph added 37. So I mean that's just an unstoppable duo, the best duo in the playoffs, Better than Luca and LeBron.

Speaker 5:

Oh, that's a good In terms of playoff, playoff, like there's dominance.

Speaker 3:

That's those two all day. Like Draymond, you know, gives us a little intensity. You know he might cost us a game or two.

Speaker 1:

He, might, he might. He already cost you two championships, yeah, okay.

Speaker 3:

It might cost us a game or two, he might, he might.

Speaker 2:

He already cost you two championships. Yeah, okay, all right Easy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah and yeah, miss Thompson. Yeah, there is a little bit of slander on your team. I will try to watch myself. Miss Thompson, I will definitely try to do that, all right. Okay, c-pain, who you?

Speaker 2:

got All right. I got the Warriors at is at six as well. Playoff Jimmy showed up and now I'm very, very worried about playing that, potentially the next round, and with the best duos conversation. I do think that that is very interesting with having a four I mean four-time champion, one of the greatest playoff risers we've ever seen. So hey, let's see if y'all can start your run again. We're not going to talk about what Ahmed did a couple weeks ago. You know, where a certain guy only scored 3A.

Speaker 1:

It just happened this regular season.

Speaker 3:

He was holding stuff. He was holding stuff more than the Saints were holding the Rams in the 2018 NFC Championship. Yeah, I'm going that far back. He was More than the Saints were holding the Rams in the 2018 NFC Championship.

Speaker 9:

Gotcha.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm going that far back. He was holding him more than that DB was holding the receiver.

Speaker 2:

Nice, my bad bro. I knew that was a sore spot.

Speaker 6:

I just had to get that little joke.

Speaker 2:

But I still have the Warriors winning this. I mean, the Rockets are too young, they don't have the experience and again, I feel like E-Mail is going to coach them. Well, but it really depends on who plays the better defense in the series, and I don't know if you can stop Steph and Jimmy in like four games.

Speaker 3:

I don't think you can do that that whistle will be in Steph's favor. Because of the experience I'm just going to say it might not be right, but I just think it will be.

Speaker 1:

That is a good point. But in terms of the Rockets, as the great, honorable Keith Sweat once said, we may be young but we are ready. All right, the Rockets. I got the Rockets in seven. I got the Houston Rockets in seven. So, diego, I might not be able to come home tonight. So yes, sir.

Speaker 2:

So my question was so you have the Rockets beating us in the next round. I wouldn't be mad if you had the Warriors beating us but the Rockets beating the Lakers in the next round. Now I actually have the.

Speaker 1:

Lakers winning that only because they're playing the Rockets. Okay, so I have the Lakers winning that only because they're playing the Rockets. Okay, so I have the Lakers going to the Western Conference Finals for the record, but they're going to lose in the Western Conference Finals. They're going to win because they've been lucky with these matchups. The Lakers are lucky to play the Timberwolves first round. They'll be lucky to play Houston, but then their luck will run out against OKC that next round. So don't worry about it, you got them waiting on you Don't worry about that.

Speaker 2:

Some teams just got to get a better season. That's on them. That's on them.

Speaker 1:

The Rockets showed, oh man, just about a week ago they showed that tenacious defense. It's just like see, I got the man, Diego, I got to school you this.

Speaker 3:

Everyone knows it was Draymond's fault, though, because Draymond was doing too much that game.

Speaker 1:

And Draymond's going to be doing too much in the first round. Draymond's learned you and your mother are going to be so frustrated. He's became more mature.

Speaker 3:

He's ready for this matchup. And we've owned the Rockets for like 10 years, Every year, every time we beat them that ownership is over, because now they have Yudoka.

Speaker 1:

Okay, they got your other guy they got your other guy from Memphis, was it Brooks?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we own him too. We own everybody no no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1:

Draymond is going to lose his mind in this series. I'm telling you they're going to bottle up, they're going to double Steph Okay, and it's going to be all on himmy. Jimmy and 37, however old Jimmy Butler is, is not going to be able to carry the load, probably going to be able to carry the load, probably going to bang knees again, and it's just not. He's not going to be able to get them over the hump. These young, upstart Houston Rockets just like them, houston Cougars, put that D on your Duke Blue Devils these Houston Rockets are going to do the same thing. It's defense, just like they say in Dallas Defense wins championships. It's defense is defense. Just like they say in Dallas defense wins championships Because defense is going to be the difference.

Speaker 1:

That tells me why the Warriors are going to win.

Speaker 2:

That's right, we're going to have this tape to play.

Speaker 3:

It's the great Nico Harrison said All-time great, nico Harrison.

Speaker 1:

Do you have a spare?

Speaker 2:

room for me? I do. You might just have to be on my couch, bro, because you said the Lakers ain't going to go to the finals.

Speaker 6:

Oh dang, that's right. I wouldn't give you the room if you said we wouldn't chill.

Speaker 1:

I'll have nowhere to go.

Speaker 2:

You might just have to be on the couch, man, I'll find a home.

Speaker 1:

I'll find a way, ok, all right. Well, hey, let's bring our guy to kind of set us straight here, mr James McFarlane, to talk about these series. Ok, and then we're going to talk about Steph and Hemi, last second shot. So let's go ahead and bring our guy in here. Mr James McFarlane, how you doing my man?

Speaker 8:

I'm doing pretty good. How's it?

Speaker 1:

going? How's it going? All right, doing great, Doing great. So hey, first off, let's rewind back. Do you have any comments on Diego's debacle with Duke? Anything you want to chime in on that?

Speaker 8:

Listen, diego, don't worry about it. Duke messed up my brackets too. Luckily I made two brackets. I had Florida to win one and I had Duke to win another one. But Duke let me down. I thought Duke was going to win. Duke played not to lose and Houston played to win. That was the difference. It was just like that. Like you said, a Houston Cougar defense was a whole other different aggressive animal that Duke wasn't used to seeing. That's not ACC ball. They used to see these offensive plays, running these motions, running these sets. Houston was playing at a whole other intensity so they weren't ready for it. But it's okay. You know, cougar flag hadn't declared for the draft yet. You got the Bougie twins coming in. They got some transfers coming in, so it's looking promising for Duke. It's looking very promising. And then they got Coach Shire. He's doing a good job since Coach K left.

Speaker 3:

So we'll see.

Speaker 8:

That's right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we will be back. We got the Bouger twins, like you said, so we'll be back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's gonna be gonna be fun to see. I can't wait to see what happens, what happens there. So, james, let's, uh, let's talk about, let's go reverse order here. We just talked about the houston rockets and golden state warriors. Why don't you give us your take on that series? What's going to happen there?

Speaker 8:

all right. So, diego, I know you are a warriors fan, but listen, houston is playing at a whole, nother different level. They got coaching. Now, hey, these young guys are animals and they are so aggressive, just like the houston cougars. Green is playing. Listen, these guys are playing at a whole nother level. But one thing we have to take into consideration is the second-place team and the eighth-place team is four wins from each other. So when you look at that, you have to look and say, okay, well, it could go either way between those four games in the standings at the end of the season, but Houston, I got Houston in six or seven.

Speaker 9:

And if it get, to seven.

Speaker 8:

We'll talk about the only way the Warriors will win. If it gets to seven and it comes down to the last shot, I'm taking Curry with the last shot.

Speaker 9:

That's the only way the Warriors will win.

Speaker 8:

That's the only way the Warriors will win. If it goes to seven, the ball's in Curry at the last second. That's the only way the Warriors will win. If it goes to seven, the ball's in Curry at the last second. That's it, oh, okay.

Speaker 3:

I'm concerned with Houston. Do they have a guy that can get a bucket at the end In close games? Do they have a guy? Because in these games in the regular season they've struggled with finishing at the end. That's the only thing I'm concerned with them about Warriors. We got two guys. Two guys. And we got other shoes. We got Buddy Heald, who can make a shot. We got Pajemski also.

Speaker 2:

Buddy Heald can make a shot, can he? Yes, he can.

Speaker 5:

Did he hit the rim, did he?

Speaker 1:

even hit the rim on that shot.

Speaker 6:

He can literally get y'all to a higher scene it's one shot.

Speaker 3:

That was not the time for him to do it but he can make a shot, he can I trust him more than I trust Jalen Green to make the last second shot.

Speaker 8:

Diego Houston plays ahead, they're gonna outscore you. They're gonna listen, they're gonna run them, old guys, so much until by the time it gets to the fourth quarter. Listen, all right, you're going to see, they're going to run them so much in those first four games that the Warriors are going to have to win at least two to three games in the first four games in order to even compete with he's. Because, after what, houston is gonna run and run and run the entire time it's gonna be a track meet might be getting nervous.

Speaker 8:

No, it's gonna be a track meet but it war is gonna have to figure out how to slow the game down, because houston they play fast yeah, yeah, I do, can't, can't wait for that.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's move on to uh. We got a couple more series to hit it real quick love your, love, your analysis. And let's also acknowledge here again you and diego have a connection. You both are at ravenscrawl, so we want to definitely, definitely shout you out with uh, with that as well.

Speaker 1:

So okay all right, all right. Well, hey, l Lakers and Timberwolves Chris. We affectionately refer to him as C-Pain. Wife nicknamed him C-Pain. He is a Laker. What You're? A Laker homer? Okay, laker homer, but LeBron LeBron's your guy as well, although you claim it's Lakers and then LeBron.

Speaker 2:

It is Lakers and LeBron forever. It's always going to be like that.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's what we get.

Speaker 2:

We're, for you know, hired God at this point. Thank you for bringing us back after the cover. Appreciate you, but yeah, when he's gone, I'm going to still rock with the Lakers, not because we have Luka now, not for that reason either.

Speaker 1:

So we all have the Lakers in either five, six, seven, we all have the Lakers. How about you, james?

Speaker 8:

I agree with that. I think that Minnesota is not on one core right now. If you would have asked me this question last year, it would have been a different answer. But I think the Lakers are meshing right now. They're figuring out their offense and they're figuring out okay. All right, let's see what's working best to our advantage against these other teams, especially like minnesota. Minnesota's. I think they're playing kind of haywire right now and I think the lakers are honing in on what is getting them to their wins. So, by a small margin I I got to put this up by a small margin we got the lakers. By a small margin, we got the Lakers in five or six. You know what I'm saying, okay.

Speaker 1:

I love it. I love it, I love that. Okay, all right. So next, clippers, nuggets. Man this. Arguably, although a lot of these are going to be competitive, arguably the most competitive series we're flipping. I have nuggets, have Nuggets, they both have Clippers. Who do you have in this one?

Speaker 8:

I have the Nuggets and I got the Nuggets in six. I think that, just off of pure talent from Murray and the Joker, they've been playing phenomenal. Even though I know Shy is the front runner for the MVP, the Joker is right there behind him. I'm talking about in close proximity, right behind him, and I think that the Joker should win the MVP, but he's probably not this year because you know that has a lot to do with where your team finishes and you know your interactions with the team and things of that nature. But I have the Nuggets. Just off for sheer talent, I got them in six. I think that the Lakers are I mean, not the Lakers, the Clippers are past their prime a little bit and they don't have Paul George, so I think this might be their last hoorah before they have to dismantle the team.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I love that y'all have them in six as well. I'm exactly there with you. And then the last series. Before we get into our final debate here, we've got either the Dallas Mavericks or the Memphis Grizzlies playing the Thunder. I believe you have whoever, the eighth seed is upsetting OKC, is that correct?

Speaker 8:

Absolutely not. It doesn't even matter who wins the eighth seed. I have the Oklahoma City jersey on right now because it's their time. I'm not an Oklahoma City fan, I'm just a fan of the NBA. This is actually a KD jersey, so you know what I'm saying. Just in case KD ever wants to go to OKC, he would have to take considerably, a whole lot less money.

Speaker 8:

But ideally, oklahoma City is going to win. I think they're going to win the West. It depends when they get to the Lakers. You know the Lakers are smart when they come with their schemes and plan and stuff like that. It's just going old team, old, wise team versus young, energetic team and whoever wins between that two is probably going to win it all.

Speaker 8:

But as far as I just want to speak on KD, his next move, the only place I see KD fitting is the Rockets, to be honest, and it may be like at a reduced role. So I looked at the last five years. Kd has averaged 28 points in the last five years. That production can fit well in any system. You put him with the Rockets, that'll be good, that'll be great. You put him with the Lakers. The Lakers somehow find ways to get players that don't fit the system but eventually end up there.

Speaker 8:

I don don't know how. And then, of course, if he goes to the warriors, everybody would love that. You know what I'm saying. You can't complain with that, but it is one team that no one's paying attention to that he will fit great with that's missing a part that he could potentially fit. He would fit great with that's missing a part that he could potentially fit. And the team is the books. Middleton's not there anymore. So if he goes to a situation like that, it could work. It could be like one of those let's get it, the one that, let's get this one and done and let's you know, let's figure out the rest after that. So yeah, okay.

Speaker 5:

I like that.

Speaker 3:

I like that yeah, I like that a lot yeah, I didn't think about that. That's a good one love your insight.

Speaker 1:

And then we already know last second shot. We're going to talk about this next, but we have your take here before we let you go. Last second shot I think you already said Steph Curry is that it's situational oh it just depends on who's guarding who.

Speaker 8:

okay, say situational, if I'm down, if you're down by two and you want to win the game and and curry has been hitting all game he's he's made at least four or five threes a game. You got to put the ball in Curry's hands, but Jimmy has a nickname and it's called Jimmy Buckets. Jimmy is going to back you. If you got a small guard guarding him, he's going to back you down. He's going to put you in the post and he's going to turn around, make the shot, get the foul. Jimmy Buckets is going to get to the free throw line. He's going to get to the free throw line. He's going to make his free throws. So it's all situation. If you're down by one, I'm giving it to Jimmy. You're down by two, I'm giving it to Curry.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right, I like that, love it, love it. Well, james, you are welcome anytime. It was an absolute pleasure talking to you today and we certainly hope to see you again. We'll be at King Saturday next week and we have many, many shows coming up again. We're weekly, so you're welcome anytime and thank you so much.

Speaker 8:

Absolutely, it was a pleasure.

Speaker 1:

All right, all right, yes, ladies and gentlemen, mr McFarland, that was great man. Yes, yes, diego, thanks for hooking that up. All right, well, gentlemen, let's again talk about this last second shot, and then we're going to wrap up with making our finals pick, and then, of course, we're going to have Brandon send us home with his final take here, but so again, james said it's situational. Ok, great, take Love that, diego, for you. Last second shot. Is it Steph Curry or is it Hemi Jimmy?

Speaker 3:

I want Jimmy Butler shooting the last shot, regardless of the situation. I love Steph, but first off, everyone's going to be thinking about Steph, everyone's going to be trying to guard him or double team him. They're not going to expect us to get Jimmy and especially, like Mr Mack said, he can score in so many different ways. Back you down, get a mid-range. If you get fouled, hit some free throws. He can hit threes also. So if you get Steph, let's say we're down by three, steph's getting double teamed. Jimmy's probably going gonna be wide open. He can hit that three especially, play off Jimmy. I trust him more than many, many other players. Yeah, I, I want Jimmy shooting the last shot.

Speaker 1:

Okay, when Jimmy's shooting the last shot, I like that. Okay. How about you see pain?

Speaker 2:

I would say Jimmy as well. Again, there's a proven commodity that in the playoffs, the play had really keyed me in. It was like, oh yeah, he's back on, so you know back to who he is. So, yeah, man, I have Jimmy just taking the shot against Steph and, like Diego said, everybody's keying on him. Everybody's going to be like we got to stop him from, you know, gaming us. But I think Jimmy, he's not afraid of that moment and he will definitely. I feel like definitely. There's times where he's going to take over, so I think I'd have him take the last shot as well. What about you?

Speaker 1:

okay, okay uh, I got draymond green. Oh no, I was like didn't get down. He missed a key layup.

Speaker 2:

I know right, Almost airballed it.

Speaker 1:

No, I've got Jimmy. Yeah, I got Jimmy Buckets as well. Steph, again, that's not his game. You know last second shot he's. You know he's not 6'5", 6'6", 6'7", you know he's.

Speaker 1:

I have only really seen one or two times where he's even been able to get a decent look in that. In that situation, when you know he's going to get the ball and they pressure him and put a long guy on him, he just doesn't get a good enough look in my opinion. So to me, have steph be a decoy. He's going to draw a bunch of attention. Just capitalize on that. Get the ball to jimmy buckets, let him play his uh, grown man bully ball and get whatever bucket you need. So yeah, because of that I would go. I would go with him. Now if they still had clay, I would say clay, I would want clay again. Clay's taller, he can. You know he's got that quick and it's just a bigger play. Like I said, I think Steph is just too small and he doesn't. You know, as athletic as he is, he doesn't have enough wiggle to just John Morant, shake somebody and then get that space, you know.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, yeah, I also wouldn't sleep on Brandon Pajemski too. He's a great shooter, you know, can hit a bunch of shots. He'd probably be wide open. If you pass it to him, he's wide open.

Speaker 1:

I trust him to make it. Trust him to make that. I like that. I like that. I like that.

Speaker 2:

Shout out to Chatterpots.

Speaker 5:

He was just cooking the.

Speaker 1:

Lakers like two weeks ago. He was, he was, he fired us.

Speaker 2:

That's why I'm a little bitter.

Speaker 1:

One final thing before we bring Brandon on for the last take. Can't wait to hear Brandon's take on all this stuff. So Brandon's got his three-minute final recap, but let's go ahead quickly here it's running out of time and give our finals prediction. So now we are on record. Okay, we're going to talk about it next week at Kings. Okay, we're on record, diego, who you got in the finals facing off and who's winning.

Speaker 3:

I got the Golden State Warriors versus the Boston Celtics. Just like 2022. And just like 2022, we're going to beat them Because we got both of their owners in the team. Steph owned them three years ago. Beat them in the finals. Beat Udoka. Beat all the crew. Jimmy Butler two years ago. Beat him in the finals. Beat Udoka, beat all the crew. Jimmy Butler two years ago. Beat the Boston Celtics in seven to go to the NBA finals. You pair both of those guys together. Oh boy, that's just. You can't stop that. You just can't stop it. I don't see how you stop it. We're going to submit you to be drug tested. And then look at the matchups the Rockets easy Lakers. We just beat them two weeks ago. They're too small, they can't mess with us. Yeah, we beat that. Yeah, we beat them. Then, western Conference Finals OKC. They're too young, they don't have enough experience. We beat them and you're too old. We have all the experience and we have two amazing playoff players okay, so the Warriors is going to be Warriors Celtics 2022.

Speaker 1:

Warriors win the championship. Is what you're saying. Okay, yeah all right, okay, all right, okay. Well, one homer, one homer to a next, all right, chris, what you're saying? Okay, yeah, all right, okay, all right, okay. Well, uh, one Homer, one Homer to a next, all right.

Speaker 2:

Chris, listen. So I know this whole. This whole season I've been hedging my bets, but I after after seeing Luca that Dallas game, I'm sorry. I feel like this is revenge season. I need a Saquon Barkley level type run. I need the NBA translation for that. So Luka is going to turn up, Could potentially be finals MVP when we beat the Celtics in seven games. That's my finals prediction.

Speaker 3:

At least you're not hiding me.

Speaker 2:

I'm not hiding that at all. I'm sitting ten toes.

Speaker 1:

We called this weeks ago a month ago, we told you what you were going to do. We have your week. I was like no, I'm nervous.

Speaker 3:

Now, oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

We can set it all time high.

Speaker 1:

Now, Chris, you do realize that the Lakers are not going to play the Brooklyn Nets in the playoffs. I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I'm not scared. I'm not scared, I'm not back and down. Them tears moved me. I don't know if they moved anybody else, but they moved me. Let's go, let's do it, okay, mark.

Speaker 1:

Okay, wow, this is going to be so fun. This is going to be so fun, so let me go ahead and give you my NBA Finals prediction here, y'all Okay. So I have in the West corner. I've got the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. Yes, I do, sga is going to make his way to the NBA Finals. They will beat the LA Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. They will make it to the NBA Finals. In the East, I've got the Boston Celtics. Yes, yes, I do, yes.

Speaker 2:

I've got the Boston Celtics. Yes, whoa. Yes, I do. You've been with the Cavs all year. Yes, I do, you've been with the Cavs all year. What are you?

Speaker 1:

doing that, my friends, was a diversion. Okay, that was a simple diversion, all right, couldn't let you guys know where I was going, Okay, but now I'm putting my cards on the table, putting my money where my mouth is. Yes, I've got the Boston Celtics going to the finals, okay, so it will be Boston OKC. And, ladies and gentlemen, we all know, we all know, I've been riding with this squad and I'm riding with them again have you?

Speaker 1:

Not at all. I've got the Boston Celtics, my Celtics, winning the NBA championship. Yes, that's right, chris. Yes, that's right. All my Boston Celtics fans, I am back. Okay, you can get married twice. Yes, you can. You can marry the same person, okay. So, and in case anybody wants to question my allegiance to Boston see, I came prepared. I came prepared for this episode, alright. So if you want to question my allegiance to the Boston Celtics, that is me at the 2022 finals with Diego, repping my Boston Celtics shirt and the chain Okay, alright. That is me wearing the Boston Celtics shirt and the chain on a Pick'em Pro episode. Okay, that is me wearing the Boston Celtics shirt and the chain on a Pick'em Pro episode. Okay, that is me repping the Boston Celtics shirt, picking the Boston Celtics. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, yes, where have you?

Speaker 6:

been for the last three years. You listen to that outside.

Speaker 3:

Where were you when they actually won the thing?

Speaker 1:

There, that doesn't matter. Okay, all right, okay, I right Okay.

Speaker 6:

I was in another relationship at the time.

Speaker 1:

But now I am back, okay, and now we are going to make it right, because everybody see, there was something missing when Boston won it last year. It was kind of dull. Everybody will admit that the playoffs were fantastic until they got to the finals, and the reason why it wasn't as exciting is because I wasn't with the celtics. Something was missing, hey, but now I am with the celtics. So when they win it this year, it will be sweet tatum, you're finally gonna get your respect, because now I'm on board with you, okay. So, tatum, do it for us. All right, don't let me down. We got the boston celtics winning the championship this year. All right, there we go.

Speaker 3:

The thing is that you don't make bad picks. You don't make bad picks. It's that you're either way too early or you're way too late with it. It's like you can't actually pick the team when they're winning. It's just I don't get it, man. Come on, get a're winning. Like it's just I don't get it, man. Like, come on, like get a, get a pick right when it's actually happening well, I, I am going to be right as it's happening this year.

Speaker 1:

okay, I am obviously not too early, I'm not going to be too late. Okay, I see, I saw everything in the celtics earth, so I was ahead of the game, okay. And then I, then I got caught up, all right Last year. Okay, I had a moment, okay. But now I am back and I realize none of y'all picked the Celtics, so you can't, you can't say I'm back when nobody else is picking the Celtics. I see it, I've got those instincts. I am picking the Boston Celtics. Celtics are going to win the championship. I got got it all right. All right, let's go okay. So with that, let's bring my man, brandon. Brandon, what's going on, my man?

Speaker 7:

what's going on? Hey how you doing I'm good, I'm doing good oh, awesome, awesome, man.

Speaker 1:

So, hey, man, we got the brandon final take, brandon minute. Man, why don't you take us out, my man, and and just say tell us we got a whole bunch here, so we got the three minutes. Why don't you go ahead and tell us who you got in the championship, give us your take on Steph and Jimmy Butler last second. Why don't you just go for it, my man?

Speaker 7:

So I do have Warrior Celtics in the finals. Ooh With the egg, I can see. Yeah, instead of Steph getting finals MVP, I can see Jimmy may get finals MVP.

Speaker 1:

Ooh.

Speaker 7:

As long as we win. Yeah, that's true. Let me think well, mvp, I'm still going with Jokic. Oh, you still got. Okay. Yeah, I'm still going with Jokic. It's close, because I see what Shea was doing. Yeah, it's like I feel like somebody's going to get screwed out of MVP. Either it's going to be Shea or Jokic, so I'm going to go with Jokic. Okay, I feel like Jokic has arguably been the best player in the last five years, other than Giannis.

Speaker 1:

What about KD's next team?

Speaker 7:

KD's next team. Yeah, I have OKC still as their favorite. Okay, houston being I've heard Houston, but I can't see Houston letting go of their young core. Yeah, so I can see why they probably like, probably hesitated to pull the trigger. Okc only does this if Jalen Williams is not part of the deal. If he's not part of the deal, they could probably pull the trigger. Win or lose, I think they'll pull the trigger. If they win the title, I don't think they pull the trigger. But if they lose in the conference finals or the second round, don't think they pull a trigger. But if they lose in the conference finals or the second round, I think they pull a trigger. So for his deep book, I'm still either it's still either the Knicks or probably the Pistons yeah so it's looking look at that.

Speaker 7:

Or if Miami somehow gets rid of Tyler Hero and a bunch of players, maybe Miami I can see Miami kind of looking at players like either Book or Giannis or even KD. So it depends on what a lot of these teams does in the playoffs who gets bounced first or second round. That's when it kind of determines, like who should make moves and stuff like that. So it should be interesting. It's going to be an interesting playoff series, both in just in sports in general, for as the NBA and hockey of course, yeah, all the way through Okay.

Speaker 1:

All right, and does Cooper Flagg come back?

Speaker 7:

I say no, I think you just got to. You don't want to risk injury? Okay, and knowing him, he probably just going to declare yeah, it's either. I'm saying either the Wizards get the first pick or the Jazz, but I'm leaning towards. I would say the Wizards would end up being the number one pick in the NBA draft. Okay, all right.

Speaker 1:

I like it. I like it, can't wait to see Brandon. Well, thanks for giving your final take here. We appreciate that, my man. We will be at King's next week and then back in the studio the final week. So we will see you again in two weeks, my man.

Speaker 7:

Okay, all right. All right, thank you. Thank you, all right.

Speaker 1:

All right, fellas. Well, hey, man, it's time to get out of here. We're over time, so let's go ahead and get on out of here, man, you guys ready for next week? Yes? Sir man it's going to be crazy. So, yes, again five tickets left. You want to go ahead and jump on that now. Those are going as we speak, so we will see you again next time. Until then, pick them, pros, we're out. Thanks for checking us out Later. Take us out in style, chuck.

Speaker 5:

Going back for that nostalgic feel. And you don't have to go home, but you have to get out of here.

Speaker 9:

So let's play this song Bounce, bounce.

Speaker 5:

Put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up Whoa. Oh man, I gotta get it in the worst way. I'm talking gold around my neck like I'm in first place. I'm talking I mean, it's like it's her day and all my homies got my back like a vertebrae. These knuckleheads going global with my shirt say she let me for it for her first day date and I ain't going back and forth. If it's her first date and getting money, we ain't worried bout her heartbreak. Look, she don't want no other guy Feeling like, yay, i'ma touch the sky, sipping on my wet, rolling up the side, married to the game, I don't wanna bribe Whoa, whoa. She don't want no other guy Feeling like, yay, i'ma touch the sky, yeah, sippin' on my wet, rollin' up his eye, married to the game. I don't wanna ride Whoa.

Speaker 5:

Look, I think it's about time to go. I think it's about time to go. I think it's time to go. I think it's about time to go. I think it's about time to go. I think it's time to go To Mars, jordan. The name Isal is a local name for the city of Isal, which means the city of Isal. The name Isal means the city of Isal. Thanks for watching.
