This is easy money. I'm getting everything that I lost on the Lions game back in this one and some, so I'm going to win at least $500 to $700 on this game. I pick them like a pro global trial ball talk a bigger role. We're going up the score touchdown. This is not field goal.
Speaker 2:We, the winning team champions. When you walk through the halls, you can play your bet with us, because you know we're going to win them all. Yeah, this is a major play. We do it big in a major way. Diego, be having the pick of the day. Here we come, don't care if you ready.
Speaker 1:All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. You know who it is, I am Barrett Thompson.
Speaker 3:And I'm Diego Thompson and I'm Christopher Davis.
Speaker 1:And who are we, the Pick'em Pros? We are the Pick'em Pros coming back at you in the house with a special episode of who you Got Father-Son. Dynamic Duo with our man C-Pain, c-pain.
Speaker 2:I actually messaged you a new nickname. New nickname, new nickname C-Pain. You like that?
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, that was cool Courtesy of my wife. Yeah, c-pain is actually really tough. Like I was like huh, I've never even thought that's tough. Yeah, yeah, that's right, we figured we'd throw that at you live, hey, shout out to chuck global. And uh, tavaris jordan, uh, the producer extraordinaire for that, uh, pick'em pro song man, that's fire can't wait for that yeah, that's tough, man, that's tough.
Speaker 1:Gonna be working on the music video january at king's, so that's, that's gonna be hot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you guys ready for a fire show? Yes, sir, man, we have so much to get into. Today We've got week 14. Fire, a whole bunch of games. This week we have the Carolina Panthers, even though they've lost. They've lost two in a row.
Speaker 3:They were close.
Speaker 1:My Carolina Panther homers here swear they're on fire now.
Speaker 3:We the rest robbed us in both games, literally like the touchdown we should have got like he was in bounds. Then the chiefs game.
Speaker 2:You know, the chiefs got bailed out, as always, okay so, all right, crazy, hold on, but we're not gonna talk about that it's what it's what happened.
Speaker 3:This is what the chiefs do okay, okay.
Speaker 1:so by that same logic then I'm on fire from my Green Bay Packer pick last night. Then. So, because I was right there, I almost I basically had it, I basically won.
Speaker 2:No, you didn't have it at all. No, you never had it. Shut up sir, you never had it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know when Jared, hey, shout out to you guys for getting that right. So you both had that right, along with Brianna, who will be joining us later in the show. You guys all had that right. I went out on a limb, got that one wrong man I was. Whew, you guys are lucky because I was going to be on one. First of all, my pockets were going to be a little heavier if I won that. A cause out there was going to benefit from that, but that's okay. I've got the Chargers-Chiefs game to make it up and give to a good cause as well as pad my pockets.
Speaker 2:so that's okay, Our boss should be worried watching this show, man, if you were, you all should be worried watching this show.
Speaker 3:Man, if you were, and you know my home's going to use this as a receipt.
Speaker 2:That's right. Yeah, I watch Pickup Pros man. They get their pictures wrong.
Speaker 1:That's hilarious. All right, well, welcome back fellas. Well, let's go ahead and get into it. Let's get into our first topic. Let's talk about Bryce Young. All right, so Bryce Young. All right. So Bryce, here he. You know, everyone was saying that he was a bust last year. Okay, not everyone, well, everyone but you, that's right.
Speaker 3:I still believed in him.
Speaker 1:You were the only one. Now, Chris, you saw some flashes, so you, you know, were hoping for sure, but Diego definitely was sticking with him through thick and thin. However, when he got benched and then Andy Dalton came in, Andy came in flinging that ball, you were looking. You were looking a little shaky, but hey, he has, he's playing a lot better. Yeah, certainly, but Diego, let's start with you. Man Is Bryce Young. Is he no longer a bust?
Speaker 3:He was never a bust. Okay, he just needed some time. You know he's needed. You know the O-line around the O-line's good now, good running game. You know solid offense, you know system and good coaching. But yeah, he's not a bust and never was a bust. And you know, now he's looking good.
Speaker 1:Okay, now he's looking good. Yeah, okay, even though he's lost two in a row, he's looking good now.
Speaker 3:No, it's like they were close.
Speaker 1:Rebs sold us. Okay, we should have won, and he won two in a row before that.
Speaker 3:Yes, okay.
Speaker 1:Against the.
Speaker 3:Giants and and the Saints, which have been good.
Speaker 2:They've been good at times this year, at times when they were like 2-0 and they lost to the Shreds they beat the Eagles.
Speaker 3:you know what I'm saying Beat the Eagles, Beat some good teams. Chris, what's your?
Speaker 1:take man.
Speaker 2:All right.
Speaker 2:So I think that Bryce isn't a bust no longer and I think he's actually given us some hope for the future for our team no longer, and I think he's actually giving us some hope for the future for our team.
Speaker 2:My main issue with how we've like lost these past two games has really been our defense. Like when we won those two games back to back, it was like, okay, our defense is playing up to snuff and then, like this week, we like here, having run all over us and then we had them home scramble late in the game, that kind of stopped us. So the thing is, bryce has played back-to-back weeks of very solid football and just the confidence that he's showing, like the last touchdown to Andy Dalton, even the fourth down conversion, I was like, okay, we haven't seen this Bryce since Alabama when he won the Heisman. So I definitely appreciate what he's saying. And the one thing I was actually talking to my friend on his channel about this but it's like in the second year of quarterbacks more recently, everybody's expecting them to be like the next guy, like you no longer are for the luxury of a sophomore slump Like Mahomes 50 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, then Super Bowl right.
Speaker 2:Then you get Joe Burrow Great rookie season, tears ACL. The second year he goes to the Super Bowl. So, like in recent history, everybody in the second year, everybody's more expected like, oh, you're supposed to build on this instead of like, low-key, go fall back to earth.
Speaker 1:Ooh, okay, low-key, was that a shot?
Speaker 2:Oh no, no, CJ Okay. I didn't think, I didn't translate that as a shot, but low-key. I translate that as a shot to CJ and I'm happy about it.
Speaker 3:I'm happy about it.
Speaker 5:I'm happy about it, you own it yeah.
Speaker 3:I own it. That was a shot at CJ, but you said it on what?
Speaker 1:I said I was like wait no.
Speaker 3:CJ, that was funny.
Speaker 1:That's going to be so funny. One day you meet CJ. Who is this kid? Oh man. So yeah, but you know what? That's very interesting because you make a great point about the second year. The second year is when you start to see if they're going to be the real deal or not, especially the third year.
Speaker 1:Third year is really the serious year, but that's interesting. So a lot of quarterbacks have struggled their first year, especially quarterbacks that start game one. And you know, the Panthers had their challenges, of course, but it's funny how those challenges are highlighted when the team doesn't do well. We look at, you know, looking at CJ, the offensive line. All we hear about is the offensive line, offensive line and every single problem you can imagine. We didn't hear any of those problems in the offseason.
Speaker 3:Nobody said anything about it. Last year their O-line wasn't off.
Speaker 1:And it's the same O-line. I don't think anything has changed.
Speaker 3:It's the same O-line.
Speaker 2:I don't think anything has changed. It might be like the guard, like one of the guards, is like playing really bad this year and then, also like with Joe Mixon. It's like it's either like awful he like disappears so and then also like we can't understand, like the losing of like Diggs and then like Nico Collins for a certain period of time, but again eh he can't play great without his two all pro receivers, I see. I mean, there's only like two quarterbacks all the time. Who've like played good with like all pro receivers?
Speaker 3:and Bryce is the one, xavier, leggett and Coker and like adam that's true.
Speaker 1:So most quarterbacks, especially early in their career, can't play well without top tier receivers. But bryce does not have any receiver. That we would say is top tier. Yes, and that offense has looked very efficient so I will say that yeah, great point. All right. Well, let's move on to our next topic. Guys, we have to pick these games, so I've got to get the chain back. So, diego, you snatched the chain off of my chest last week.
Speaker 3:You and Bree did it's business as usual. Business as usual. Okay, you were making a big big deal about when you won. It Business as usual. Okay, you were making a big big deal about when you won, and that's just business as usual, Of course.
Speaker 1:Well, that's okay, because I'm going to make an even bigger deal when I win this week.
Speaker 1:I'm going to make an even bigger deal and I'm going to make an even bigger deal from being down in the hole with the Detroit Lions-Packer game Because I'm going to chase y'all down. I'm going to do LeBron chase down block, although that might not be the best analogy right now with the slump that the Lakers are having, but that's okay, that's a different topic here. But let's get into these games, man. Let's get into it, All right. So first one we've got the Jets. Aaron Rodgers and Cruz travel to Miami to play Tua the guy that was third in my MVP ranking. I might have to adjust that.
Speaker 3:Miami's a 6-point play. That's a 6.4. A little shiver.
Speaker 1:As Bree said, that was my list, my special list, your list, not anyone else.
Speaker 3:My special- list On an island.
Speaker 1:I think we all agree on this one, so we'll probably be quick on this one. Diego, who do we have?
Speaker 3:Yeah, we all got the Dolphins this one. As I said a few weeks ago, I just stopped picking the Jets because they just keep letting me down. Aaron Rodgers has been playing well. They are in Miami where they are comfortable, so I'm going with Miami.
Speaker 2:Warm weather. You know, dolphins, and how that offense looks. In warm weather, That'll be all right.
Speaker 1:You know, dolphins, and how that offense looks in warm weather, that'll be all right, absolutely Easily. Yeah yeah, not nothing to really say about this one. Uh, definitely go with the dolphins. Uh, this, this is a. This is a no brainer for sure, all right. Next game that we've got we've got the Atlanta Falcons traveling in Minnesota to play the Vikings. Um, yeah, that's right, that's right. Yeah, this is the Kirk Cousins Bowl here. This one, I wouldn't say it's a no-brainer, but we all agree for sure on this one. Who do we have in this one, diego?
Speaker 3:We all got Minnesota in this one Atlanta. They haven't been looking so good recently. Kirk's been cooling down a little bit since his 500-yard game a few months ago and you know I think these Minnesota they're at home, so they got a big advantage there. But I just kind of want Minnesota to lose one late because I want Detroit to have a little bit of a cushion and you know, solidify that spot a little bit.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I would like to see Detroit at home, but I'll touch on that a little later, and I call Kirk Cousinsins Schrodinger's quarterback because it's either you get 500 guards and he looks like he's top five, and then you get the four interception Kirk Cousins, Because of how inconsistent he seems to be and more consistently bad in more recent weeks. I have the Vikings in this one.
Speaker 1:Okay, All right. Yeah, I agree We've have the Vikings in this one. I agree, We've got the Vikings in this one. The Falcons. I believe it will be a close game. The spread is what? Five Minnesota's by five? I definitely would not pick them to cover this spread.
Speaker 2:It might be a late field goal.
Speaker 1:I think it could be a late field goal for sure Next game. I think we all agree on this one as well. We're getting these out of the way. Yeah, this is game of the week the Saints travel to MetLife Stadium to play the Giants. Saints are a five-point favorite. That's interesting, Diego. Who do we have in this one?
Speaker 3:I'm going to go with the Saints. Giants don't really have a quarterback right now. Yeah, just Saints. Yeahants don't really have a quarterback right now. Yeah, just Saints, yeah for sure.
Speaker 2:I mean, if Derek Carr hits like two big throws, it's over, so we're not even worried about this. I got the Saints in this one. Yeah, Panther Bowl.
Speaker 1:Definitely the Saints in this one and yeah they may even cover that spread Tough watch.
Speaker 2:This is a very tough watch.
Speaker 5:Yeah, this is a tough watch, for sure.
Speaker 1:For sure. All right, next game, here we go. We've got the Carolina Panthers, we've got some Panther paraphernalia in the background.
Speaker 3:Jalen, that spreads too far, jalen. Oh my gosh. 12 points man. Yeah, yeah that's crazy.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, 12 points, that is a lot, although we do have the guy that just dropped $3.1 million bet on the Eagles to beat the. Panthers. So I wonder what the return is supposed to be on that. Yeah, can't be any more than like $100,000 off a $3 million bet.
Speaker 2:Let X lose the money, because that's not good yeah, especially off a 12-point.
Speaker 1:Oh my gosh All right Diego. Hey man, you're supposed to be the Panther homer. You were talking all that stuff about Bryce. You believe in him. He's hot. Come on, man, Go ahead. Man, Change your pick.
Speaker 3:I'm picking the Eagles in this one. Eagles, they've just been on a roll and it's in Philly, so it's going to be hard for the Panthers to win this one. But hey, if they do win, you know I'll be able to say I believed in them and all that. You know, all that good stuff.
Speaker 1:So it's kind of both ways here. If they do win, you can say you believed in them.
Speaker 3:This is how I like to pick Panther games usually, but so you know.
Speaker 2:Because his reverse jinx like worked like maybe twice this season. So like when was it the?
Speaker 2:Giants game and then, like he's kind of, been like, okay, let's keep reverse jinx again and see if it'll happen, but it's so with my pick, look. I mean, my holy hope is another get moral victory where Bryce plays well versus, like, a very vaunted Philadelphia defense. However, they got a dude who likes to jump over people backwards and get moral victory where Bryce plays well versus a very vaunted Philadelphia defense. However, they got a dude who likes to jump over people backwards and also Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 2:We have an awful we let Bucky Irvin get 150 yards. If Saquon there should be a bet on, will Saquon break Adrian Peterson's single game rushing record? Because that's how bad I think it can get.
Speaker 3:Will he get more than he did against the Rams?
Speaker 2:Yeah, because he literally had a 300-yard game versus a Rams defense. That's way better than what we got on the field. So, I am very, very scared.
Speaker 1:So we will see, we will see. That is true, that's true, yeah, yeah, I'm going Eagles in this one as well. Nothing else to really discuss.
Speaker 3:Hey, maybe we're giving Bryce receipts.
Speaker 1:I'm definitely rooting for a moral victory, though.
Speaker 3:Bryce is the spoiler, so you know he likes to do.
Speaker 1:Well, hey, he will be the man. If he pulls this one off on the road in Philly, it'll be cold and everything All right. Well, let's move on to the next one. We've got the Cleveland Browns Jameis Winston All right Coming off that close loss. It was such a Jameis Winston game Coming off of that loss, with the great quotes that he gave us traveling to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. We disagree on this one. Somebody's on the island on this game? Woo-hoo. Who could that be, diego? Who do you have in this game?
Speaker 3:I have the Steelers man. They're 9-3. They're 9-3, and yeah, they're at home. And yeah, I just don't know about Jameis man. I just think their defense is going to pick him off at least once or twice. So it just depends on how many touchdowns you can put on the board. But I'm just going with the Steelers All right.
Speaker 2:There was a great announcer who said Jameis is either going to get four of them, it's either going to be four touchdowns or four interceptions. So we're just going, just let him rock on. That I got the Steelers, I think after the Browns game kind of left a bitter taste in their mouth. I don't think they were prepared for the elements being as much as a thing and you know, maybe they can, you know, get it together because they are like pushing for the playoffs. And the one thing I admired about last week with the Steelers is the fact that they wanted to shoot out. I've never seen like this TV. It's like wait, another quarterback is balling out, like how well Joe Burrow did. So I definitely think that the Steelers are going to be a good hard knocks episode.
Speaker 1:It will be a great hard knocks episode. I've not been able to check that out yet. I love the fact that they're doing the whole division. That's fantastic. So, yes, we may have to start checking that out tonight. All right, well, ladies and gentlemen, I am on an island for this game. Yes, hey, jameis, winston, did you guys not see the post game?
Speaker 2:Yes, Did you not see the post game? He was like praying that he asked the.
Speaker 1:Lord right to deliver him from pick sixes, and that's what's going to happen. See, the problem is a lot of times when you guys pray.
Speaker 2:You're not specific enough.
Speaker 1:Okay, and his prayers will be answered. All right. This will be a letdown game for the Steelers. He is going to get a win and I will get my Packers loss back from you guys and I'm going to snatch it. This will be a victory for me. Good luck with that. I'm going with Jameis, Winston and the Browns in the upset win.
Speaker 2:All right.
Speaker 3:Yes, he's just desperate.
Speaker 2:He's down a lot of games, he's just desperate.
Speaker 3:Not at all. He's just trying to catch up with me, man.
Speaker 1:Not at all. Speaking of hold on. So with our picks. Okay, and Bree, we're going to get your picks as well, because we already have your pick from Thursday Between the four of us. Okay, we're all going to pick a cause, alright. And from this week until the end of the season, pick your cause, alright. Whoever has the best picks, whoever has the highest rating from now to the end of the season, will donate to your cause, alright? So that's on the table. So, diego, you know, shake your hand. You already won this season. You're good, I'm going to go ahead and concede. You already won.
Speaker 3:It's over. Thanks, man, it's over. You beat me.
Speaker 1:You are back-to-back champion. You won last year, you won this year.
Speaker 2:I did win the first season.
Speaker 1:I won the inaugural, that's the one that really matters but anyway, you are back to back for winding. Uh, let's, let's flash back to the past real quick let's go.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we got to go back the very first one I want, okay, and then the celtics championship. So that's what that is, yes in the fall off that's exactly like the toronto raptors championship oh no, no shots in Toronto.
Speaker 3:No shots in Toronto. Yeah, no shot at them, no shots.
Speaker 1:Silas, we love you. We love you, silas. Scotty Barnes yes, yeah, all right, but so we'll have to get your calls. We'll talk about that in a minute. But yeah, we're playing for that, okay, all right. Well, let's get to the next game here. We've got the Las Vegas Raiders. Still feels weird saying the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Raiders travel into Tampa to play the Bucs. The Bucs are a seven-point favorite. I believe we all agree on this one. Who do?
Speaker 3:we have Diego. Yeah, we got the Bucs in this one. They're at home, the home. The Raiders just don't play good unless they're playing the Chiefs. And yeah, really, buccaneers. Shout out to Wyatt. Shout out to.
Speaker 2:Wyatt, I got time for being this Baker's gonna do Baker things. Mike Evans, actually the one interesting is Mike Evans' 1,000 yard. Watch the next few seasons, see if he ties Jerry Rice for the record of most 1,000 yard seasons consecutive.
Speaker 3:Nice we consecutively. We'll see. It's crazy. Mike Evans share a record with Jerry.
Speaker 2:Rice. That's the thing. Somebody on Twitter was trying to say he's a Rudy Gobert of the NFL. I was like that's just rude. That was rude. That's interesting.
Speaker 3:It's rude. Listen, he's been too consistent, way too consistent.
Speaker 2:He has won a ring. I don't even want to have it, yeah he does have a ring, Rudy Gobert he is a three-time defensive player of the year I forgot.
Speaker 3:Mike Evans had a ring. I just think that's Tom Brady's ring.
Speaker 2:Oh man, he not following the playoffs All right, I'll let you grab that one. Yeah, I agree, bad luck.
Speaker 1:I'll let you grab that one. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, bucks, in this one for sure. I don't think there's much else to say about this one. We good? Alright, we're good. Okay, let's move on. Alright, here we go. I think this one somebody's on the island on this one. Okay, we got the Jacksonville Jaguars. They do not have Trevor Lawrence. Hope he seriously recovers well and gets okay, because that was a pretty vicious hit. But the Jags travel to Tennessee to play the Titans. Tennessee is a four-point favorite at home. Yes, this will be a tough watch. I will not be watching this one. Diego, who do you have?
Speaker 3:I got the Ooh. I'm picking the Tennessee Titans this week. This may be the first time all year, I think, so it feels weird. I'm picking the Titans, they're at home and Jacksonville doesn't have their quarterback, so I'm going with Tennessee.
Speaker 2:I'm expecting a sneaky Mac Jones day and I figure I'm on an island on this one. I liked what he showed like in the comeback of the near comeback versus the Texans. So I had the Jaguars in this one because the Titans and you know, after getting Molly Waps out of the commanders, I think you know they might just completely fall apart and come back down to earth. We might have to start talking about potential 11th replacements, but we'll see okay, that'll.
Speaker 1:That'll be interesting. That'll be interesting. Well, yeah, I think, without Trevor Lawrence, I'm with Diego. I'm going to go with the Titans on this one. So, chris, this is one of your island games, maybe, unless Bree's going to come in and take the Jags. We'll find out about that over the next day or so, but as it stands right now, it looks like you're on an island with this one, so we'll see what happens there. So this will be where you gain ground or lose ground, all right, okay. Next up, we've got Seattle Seahawks. Ooh, divisional game. They are traveling to Arizona to play the Cardinals. Cardinals are a two-and-a-half point favorite and, yeah, I think one of us is on the island. So far in this game, diego, it is you who do you have.
Speaker 3:I have the Cardinals in this game. I'm surprised I'm on the island with this one because you know Cardinals, they seem to play well in divisional games. That is true, that is true. And they're, you knowzona, uh, playing against this divisional team. And yeah, I think kyler, kyler's gonna show out marvin harrison connor, shout out to him yeah and yeah okay, I'm sorry I got seattle on this one.
Speaker 2:I just think that they're kind of riding high off of these past two like very good wins and just kind of like they really should have lost the game last week, like it was the special team mishaps their way that their offense really wasn't performing well and, like you know, it was getting rushed in somehow. Some way they've won like three straight or something. So like the one thing about them was they're weirdly streaky this season. So I think that this continues versus the Cardinals, Okay.
Speaker 1:Okay, yeah, yeah, I agree, I think the Seahawks are right. Seahawks got me a huge win, got me the chain. A couple of weeks ago, when they had that win, we were at the Canes game. Yeah, we were at the Canes game. I was enjoying it, losing your mind. That was phenomenal. Wish we had that on film. So, yeah, so same thing is going to happen this week. My guy, gino, is going to get me another win and get me closer to that chain. Thank you, sir. Know is going to get me another win and get me closer to that chain. Yeah, all right. Okay, next one. Oh boy, we've got desmond clark's chicago bears. Uh the, uh new, they got the. I guess the office of coordinator is taking over.
Speaker 2:Okay, it's taking over. There's the form panthers office of coordinator oh, is he okay? Oh, boy yeah no, when, nah, it was when. Uh, he's actually made caleb look a little bit better. I'm I going to go? We didn't have. Well, they also have.
Speaker 3:When was that? Was that when we had like Darnold?
Speaker 2:No, no, no, it was actually like last year when we fired Frank Reich. Oh wow, yeah. So everybody's kind of like no, literally. Did y'all not watch the Thanksgiving game?
Speaker 1:It was balling out In the second half, In the second half, yeah it was shaky, the first half it was bad, but they got it together.
Speaker 2:Then he refused to be in it. I'm not even talking about that, I'm not even losing right now.
Speaker 1:It's just well, that was wild. That was wild. Yeah, part of that caused me to pick the Packers this week, but anyhow. So the Bears travel to the Bay to play the Niners, the Niners. What is up with these odds, man? They just always pick the Niners and pick them big. The Niners are a four-point favorite at home, with all the issues that they have. Diego, who do you have in this?
Speaker 3:one. I'm actually picking the Niners. I mean, this is a rare game. They're at home, they're're at home, they're playing the Bears.
Speaker 1:So yeah, that's why I'm picking the Niners it's a rare occasion and you're on the island for this one, I believe. Chris, are you Bears?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm picking the Bears mostly because I have a bad offense way in the second half and kind of I feel like it might be revitalized under Thomas Brown. I think this is going to be one of those games where it's like, hey, new coach, new system.
Speaker 2:We're going to play for him because there was literal immunity in the locker room because of that ineptitude of Betty. Everybody was like why didn't you call a timeout, bro, when your whole offense is saying what are we doing? Yeah, y'all needed to change. So hopefully it's that like weird magic of having a new coordinator that gets them to win.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes, this was a tough game. The last game was with the Bears and it was so funny because Uncle Dwayne, my brother, huge Bear fan so we're trying to take a holiday picture, right, and it's while all that was happening. And so we're gathering on the couch, we've got our Buc-ee's, your holiday shirts that my wife bought, and we're all trying to gather and take a picture and meanwhile they're blowing the game and he's doing everything in his power not to like start crying or start throwing stuff. That was the funniest thing ever. Anyway, got off track here, but yeah, I've got the Bears as well. I think the Bears redeemed themselves.
Speaker 3:They will be fired up and want to get away. That Panthers game was pretty rough, so I can kind of feel.
Speaker 1:Yeah that was right.
Speaker 4:Canadian dudes are down like a hundred right now.
Speaker 2:It's not To Canada. Canada, you're down bad. Some of your representatives have blown a lot of stuff Shout out to.
Speaker 1:Scottie Barnes.
Speaker 2:Shout out to Scottie Barnes.
Speaker 1:Let's go to the next one. We got Buffalo Bills traveling to LA to play the Rams. Buffalo is a five-point favorite, riding high, the number one team in the AFC. That I've been saying for weeks. A lot of other people are finally starting to catch up to that. That I've been saying for weeks. A lot of other people are finally starting to catch up to that. Okay, but we'll see if you guys have caught up to where I've been since the beginning of the season. Who's going to win this game?
Speaker 3:Diego, the Bills will win this game. Yeah, they're just one of the best teams in the league and going into a Rams environment that doesn't have the strongest fan base, so there may be a lot of Bills fans there jumping on tables and whatnot, so I'm going with them, okay.
Speaker 1:Got the Bills.
Speaker 2:Yeah, those monsters are going to show up in LA because we know that fan base is kind of fair weather.
Speaker 1:So we're going to.
Speaker 2:Yeah, josh Allen is going to be spectacular yet again and, I think, not solidified his candidacy for MVP, because I still think if Saquon breaks the Russian record, he should definitely win. But I think Josh Allen has definitely moved up in my views of the rankings for MVP, so shout out to him.
Speaker 1:Josh Allen will. He's already solidified it in my mind. He's been my MVP for a while. What if they lose to the Rams? There's no way. No way, that's not going to happen. No way that happens. Just like Mike Tyson said, there's no way he was going to lose. There's no way that Josh Allen and the Bears lose to the Rams.
Speaker 3:Mike Tyson lost, did he? Yeah, he did. Some people say it was fixed. I see they weren't saying it before. That's right they weren't saying it before.
Speaker 1:All right, okay, so we all have the bills on this one. Next one We've got the oh man, I'm so excited about this one here. Sunday night football. Waiting all day for Sunday night. We've got the LA Chargers traveling to Arrowhead to play the Chiefs to give them their second loss, right, diego.
Speaker 3:No, no, it will not be. They will not receive their second loss. The Chiefs will win their home in Arrowhead. Don't never bet against the Chiefs, because they got the refs on their side as always.
Speaker 4:They're.
Speaker 3:Sunday night, especially it's primetime.
Speaker 1:It is primetime.
Speaker 3:Yeah, the refs are going to have their flags ready. And yeah, Chiefs, all the way They'll find a way.
Speaker 2:Before we all hear Derek's speech, I just want you all to know Patrick Mahomes is 34-5 versus Ac west opponents and he is 9 and 2 versus the chargers. So let's just we're gonna before this thing. We just I'm just like what his home record is too, sunday night, okay, okay yeah, wait, they're in here. I thought they were in LA it doesn't even make more sense.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Kansas. City is going to win this game and even if it's close, you know, and it's going to come down to a Mahomes drive and a game-winning field goal or something crazy is going to happen, because that's how Mahomes always plays when it comes. Weirdly, when it comes to the Chargers in this Justin Herbert herbert era, you find some way to sneak out and win versus this team and you know, I'm not expecting any difference he always finds a way, so you are not telling a lie, but that streak will end on sunday night.
Speaker 1:jim harbaugh, michigan wolverine. Jim harbaugh has brought a whole new culture to this team. He's already seen the Chiefs and now he's ready to go in there and take them down. The Chiefs are reeling and yeah, this is easy money. This is easy money. I'm getting everything that I lost on the Lions game back in this one and some, so I'm going to win at least $500 to $700 on this game.
Speaker 2:I'm with it. Easy math man. This doesn't make any sense. This is easy money.
Speaker 1:So, bre, when you come on, you got to tell us who you have in this one, because I'm curious. So far I'm on the island on this one and, yeah, I don't know why y'all are picking the Chiefs.
Speaker 2:Enjoy your palm trees, man. Yeah, you said that there, on both the Super Bowl picks and I won.
Speaker 3:Why are you picking the Chiefs?
Speaker 1:Why are you bringing up old stuff All?
Speaker 3:right, all right. The Chiefs win the Super Bowl. Shout out to.
Speaker 1:Elijah, too, I saw your comment, man, he's got the Chargers with him. So there's one other person. Yeah, has the Chargers with him.
Speaker 3:Four, all right.
Speaker 1:Four and five man. Come on, this is right, you're gonna see jim harbaugh, jim harbaugh, okay, all right, and the uh last one, the monday night game. We've got the cincinnati bangles traveling to big d? Uh to play the dallas cowboys. Uh, and I believe we all agree on this one, diego, who do we have?
Speaker 3:yeah, we all got the bangles. Uh, yeah, I really wanted to stop picking the Bengals this year, but they were playing a team that's actually worse than them, like actually worse than them. So, yeah, I'm going with them one last time and their defense can hold this Cowboys offense at least, maybe under 30. And they will put up over 30 on offense. Yeah, going with them.
Speaker 1:Okay. Well, Chris, you're wearing the Dallas Cowboy-themed Pick'em Pro retro shirt, so you sure you're not taking the.
Speaker 2:Cowboys. Also, I am only doing this for brand awareness. I know my aunt is currently living this right now.
Speaker 2:However, I am still picking the Bengals in this game. I think that they got them with something. It's come to the point where it's like, hey, they're just gonna sneak up and win, maybe go like eight, nine, seven or ten. That really sucks, because joe joe burrow has been really playing out of his mind and his would literally be like winning mvp if they like were actually winning games. And then jamar chase is gonna have a triple crown and a contract here. So you know, I don't know how they're gonna afford him because that's going to be like contract here.
Speaker 5:So you know, I don't know how they're going to afford him, because that's going to be like $45 to $48 million a year for his services and he deserves it.
Speaker 2:So shout out to Jamar Chase man.
Speaker 1:You go get your bag next year, bro. He will, he will, absolutely, he will absolutely get his bag. Yeah, you know. But so all the reasons why we're saying Bengals is why I picked them last week. I'm hesitant. If they were playing anybody other than the cowboys I'd probably pick against them, but um, they. I don't think they have any chance of making the playoffs now, but this is a prime time game, monday night in dallas.
Speaker 1:This gives them one last chance to just show their talent and I feel they're gonna put everything into this game against that win this game and then they'll go in the tank the rest of the season, I think and hasn't Dallas not won a primetime game this whole season?
Speaker 4:And if so they've been destroyed by like 20.
Speaker 3:They've been killed by like 20 every single one of those games. Well, you know.
Speaker 2:Shout out to Jerry, bro, man Shout out.
Speaker 1:Shout out to him. Shout out to him. Shout out to Jerry bro man. Shout out to him. Shout out to him All right, well, those are our picks. So, hey, you know where we stand there and we're going to go ahead and talk about the game last night. Talk about that briefly. And we're going to do that with the one and only Brianna that was with us on Thanksgiving Day. So big round of applause, let's bring in Brianna. Hi, hey what's going on?
Speaker 1:Not much All right, all right, good to see you. You riding high from that correct pick last night.
Speaker 4:Yeah, it was amazing. What a good game, seriously.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was. It was. It was definitely a good game. Yeah, it was up and down. You know the Lions jumped on them. Then Packers came back. So I was feeling good about my pick and again I am full transparency Love the Lions families in Detroit. I know my Detroit family's watching so I got a lot of grief this morning in the family, that of picking the Packers. But it was. It was a strategic pick because I'm just seeing how the Lions are losing people left and right and then coming off of that game where they could have easily lost to the Bears. I thought they were ripe for a you know, just ready for a letdown loss there. But they proved me wrong and were able to pull that out. But what's your just overall take on that game last night?
Speaker 4:That game was so crazy. My sister, who doesn't even like football, she was even interested in watching it, which I thought was crazy. That's how you know it's a good game when my sister wants to sit down and watch it. You know that's right. But what are you going to learn to not go against the Lions?
Speaker 1:I know, I know.
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:I got to stop and then it's a no win, because then I got the whole family going against me. So yeah, it's tough. I need to just pick the Lions, no matter what.
Speaker 4:Yeah, and their defense and a lot of players are injured. But I think they've really proven themselves because they are low on players and everything and I think that really just proves that they are a super bowl team and they can win it yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1:I definitely agree with that and and so with with that, um, talking about the lions and the super bowl, so they've had a lot of injuries and you just said you think they, they can win it. Um, they've had injuries. Hutch, if they make it all the way to the Super Bowl, maybe he'll be able to come back there, but they've got bodies dropping left and right. And the comparison that I want to make is with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Kansas City Chiefs have one loss so far, but they've lost a lot of games narrowly. Detroit, although Detroit earlier on were blowing people out. Now these last two games they've squeaked by and their defense is looking a little soft in the second half of the game. Does any of that concern you at all?
Speaker 4:A little bit, but I know that they're still good, even though they are not that good of teams that they are playing, but I still think it proves that they are good enough to barely get by. You know, like I don't know, I just feel like they can really do it and I think that won't change a thing, because I mean, the chiefs come on, no one likes the chiefs.
Speaker 1:So that's true, not not anymore. We've got uh aaron, our, uh, our lead videographer. He's diehard chiefs guy, was chiefs from back in the day, had his heart broken so many times, so he's one of the diehards, but they definitely have a lot of hate right now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think it's a great redemption arc for you know, chiefs fans Like that's the thing, I'm all like, what's? Like? I've been a big proponent of this. Like, if you have a team, that team that all of a sudden is good, I need you to be a Warriors fan like, oh wait, leave team beating Dirk. That's as far as you need to go, but new Chiefs fans popping up it's kind of crazy. There are a lot of them, a lot of them.
Speaker 1:Definitely a lot of Chiefs fans popping up, all right, well, let's move to our other topic, topic that we want to get your expertise on Bree. This is with Kirk Cousins. So Kirk Cousins has been struggling. You told us on the show last week on Thanksgiving that you know you definitely have some ties to the Falcons and your heart is with them. I'm sure you know you were stoked when you signed Kirk Cousins. Now I'm interested on how you felt when they drafted michael pennix jr right after that. You know so. Most people didn't like it, a few people did, but um with his struggles, do you think they stay with him no matter what? Or at some point do they look to their number one, um, their first round draft pick?
Speaker 4:right. So when they drafted michael, I was like what the heck? Because you have a good quarterback who's a veteran, knows what he's doing and just and they have been struggling, yes, but he's a veteran, so he knows how to handle those situations. I feel like, um, but with michael, I feel like they're probably just going to use them next season because they got perk. Why would they need to use the other guy right now when they have a contract, you know? So I feel like, and you know, kirk Cousins only does have 17 touchdowns so far this season, which is not as good as he normally has, so maybe this is his last year, I'm thinking.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, I can see them definitely with all that they've invested in them sticking with no matter what this season, but then after that they may move on.
Speaker 3:I think he goes two seasons at the most the very most this year and next year, but I definitely see him going to Pennix next year. You see, him going to Pennix next year. No matter what, I can see it. I wouldn't bet on it, but I can see it Okay.
Speaker 2:Well, what do you think? I feel like the 500 yards after the achilles injury was like the biggest, like fool's gold this season. Everyone's like oh, kirk's back, he's swag surfing, yay, no, no, no, he's. He's definitely come back down to earth and it's it's like worse than like what you see, typical of kirk cousins.
Speaker 2:But like this is like look, it's like how he looked at prime time in previous years and that's what kind of pairs with kirk cousins and he's again like he's become one of my favorite players, like throughout the league, like when I watched the quarterback show on netflix it was like okay, like you're, I kind of rock what you made and then now I'm like this is a little rough man. So you know, okay, congrats on a career. Shout out to your agent for literally getting you paid, because everybody he has the best how did you get that much money?
Speaker 1:shout out to him, yeah yeah, that's indisputable, for sure, indisputable, but now with the um so brie, now kurt cuz, hey, he's going, he's going home, he's going to minnesota. Um, how do you think he'll play this week in minnesota?
Speaker 4:um, I think it will give him the motivation to play as good as he can for his old fans in the stadium and his old teammates like Justin Jefferson. So I think with that I think he's going to play really good, and if not, then I don't even know. But that's just what I think.
Speaker 1:Have you picked that game yet you still working on your picks. Did you still have another day or so? Yeah, I'm yeah. Have you picked that game, yet you still working on your picks. Do you still have another day or so?
Speaker 4:Yeah, I'm still picking.
Speaker 1:Still picking. All right, all right.
Speaker 4:Make sure I make the right choice.
Speaker 1:Okay, what about the Chargers-Chiefs? Because I was thinking about you with that game. Do you have any thoughts on that one?
Speaker 4:Yes, I think the Chargers with you, you agree with me charges, I do, because the chargers are eight and four and the chiefs are 11 and one and they're. I feel like they're just coming to an end, like I feel like the lions are up there with them and I think they're gonna outshine them. So I think the chargers are gonna swoop in and get that win yep, yep, easy money, all right, all right.
Speaker 1:Well, you know what? Oh, yeah, this is so. Hey, I gotta figure out. Uh, because, yeah, I'm my pockets. If the chargers win that game, my pockets are going to be fat, so I'm definitely going to peel off, I'll peel off. I've been spending a little too much. I'm gonna peel off at least 100 or so, and and and. It's gonna go to a cause. So, yeah, yeah I, I will donate some of my earnings from that one, because that's gonna be easy money for sure. Yeah, if you, oh, there's, no, if there's no, if there's a big if three co-signed it.
Speaker 1:we got it. We're on, we're on this side of the eye. Yeah, we got it. We got it. Hey, tell us in the comments I'm sure they're coming in. Tell us on that game, who do you have? Is it Chargers or Chiefs? We definitely got to have to put a poll out on that one. All right, all right, all right, bree. Well, hey, it's always a pleasure to have you. We look forward to having you on many more of our shows and take care, enjoy and enjoy the Cardinals this weekend as well, oh, I will Thank you.
Speaker 4:Thank you, guys, for having me.
Speaker 1:All right, our pleasure, take care. All right, that is Bree, great to have her on. And yeah, yeah would love to know her take on that the Cardinals game too. So, yeah, you should have asked her about that one. All right, well, man, you guys ready to talk about the NBA?
Speaker 2:We haven't talked about the.
Speaker 1:NBA since a couple weeks ago, when we were here with C Payne last time.
Speaker 2:A lot of pain with the Lakers. A lot of pain.
Speaker 1:A lot of pain. A lot of pain with the Lakers.
Speaker 5:You like that picture. You like that picture. You like that picture.
Speaker 1:That is classic. That's classic right there. And Brandon, we see you in the background. So we're going to bring Brandon on in a little bit to talk about the ratings in a minute, but we'll keep this slide up. Let's go ahead and talk about. First, though, c-pain. Since we have you back, let's talk about your Lakers. My man, you know, last time we were talking about the Lakers could go to the Western Conference Finals. They were looking good. Ad was looking like a MVP candidate and everything. It was just everything was wonderful. Jj Redick was the next, pat Riley I wasn't going that far.
Speaker 1:Didn't you hear that? No, we gave Pat Riley a Phil.
Speaker 2:Jackson talk off the regular season with Championships Matter. This is title town over here. What are we doing? Pat Riley is so nuts. Okay, but you know yeah.
Speaker 1:Floor is yours.
Speaker 2:Well, everybody wants to call it a coaching issue with the Lakers. You know everybody's like. Oh, this is the same record as Darvin Ham had last year Mr Ham's in his pockets. Now we're gonna we're gonna keep it real. Father Time might be nipping at somebody's ankles, you know, and that's what's getting a little scary, and the fact that our roster isn't we. Literally, in the early part of the season it felt like we were punching above our weight.
Speaker 2:at this point, it feels like we're coming back to Earth where I kind of thought we were kind of like middle of the pack as a conference team and I think that we're going to do the typical thing with LeBron team. We're going to do the typical thing with LeBron team. We're going to be like, made it to like the all-star break and then we're going to look, you know, to make a big trade to get some star that's disgruntled, and then we're going to try to make a conference finals run or a finals run. Do I think that's possible in the West? After how I've seen us play some of these younger, more talented teams with guys who can lock up our guys who can actually play on the perimeter but can't guard, it's going to be a little rough. I just think I feel like I'm back to the Swan song train. I'm just like, hey, let's just enjoy LeBron while he's here. The whole game where he scored 10 points, I got so scared.
Speaker 2:I was like no, my goal argument, it's ruined. We'll be fine, I think, at best second round, if we get lucky and we play a really inexperienced playoff team. But if LeBron turns back the clock, he gives us a couple good memories before the Thunder or one of these way better, younger teams just puts us out of our misery. So I hope not. Uh, it's a tough watch, obviously it's a tough watch with the team in la okay team in la still because of screw the rivers, second round.
Speaker 1:You've adjusted. Uh, tough watch and um ad is no longer in the in the consideration my friend likes to call him a toothpick because him and Christian McCaffrey are the two things he always slanders.
Speaker 2:So shout out to my homie DJ Always keeping me real, keeping you real.
Speaker 1:All right, diego, what's your take on the Lakers man? Is this pretty much in line with what you've been saying?
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think so, because I just don't think their roster has it. You know what I'm saying Like their roster, it's just not all that great.
Speaker 1:Okay, shout out to Rob Palenka, I need to throw Bronny in there.
Speaker 3:Okay, I don't know Bronny's smart.
Speaker 1:You know what? Okay, let's compare the record though.
Speaker 3:What was their record when Bronny was with them, compared to him being in the G League?
Speaker 1:is Bronny the missing piece.
Speaker 2:Okay, but that would be like a like a fact on our team at this point, like oh, it's like, oh, like does LeBron need Bronny to? Like kind of help motivate him.
Speaker 4:That might be it.
Speaker 2:That might be it, but again, we suck because D'Angelo Russell decides to turn up every other game when he's like in trade rumors. That's true. And then don't connect, can't shoot but he can't defend Really can't shoot but can't defend. Right Austin Reeves, it depends if he wants to show up.
Speaker 4:LeBron, and then we got.
Speaker 2:Anthony Davis. He's either going to be hurt, he's going to ball out, or, when LeBron's playing bad, he's like no, I'm not going to pick up the slack, I'll suck right with him. So it's like it's a mess.
Speaker 1:LeBron was rejuvenated when it was bring your kid to work day. He was playing like a madman.
Speaker 3:The Bucs actually haven't been as good since they cut the Nantes, that's right, that's right.
Speaker 1:You need that moral support. Yeah, moral support.
Speaker 2:Yes, you need it. Okay, also, guys who can defend on the perimeter, like both teams, desperately need it.
Speaker 1:All right. So, diego, we're not going to leave you out of this. Golden State Warriors. Hold on, let's see. I think I got a slide on this one. Golden State Warriors, my man, what's going on with them?
Speaker 3:They're, you know, slipping a little Warriors. My man, what's going on with them? At least we're not as bad as the Lakers. We're 12-8 right now. It's not the best record, not as good as it was. We lost about five in a row, thank you. We just really it's more moving towards the middle of the season, which is time for more Steph and Draymond missing a few more games. We just really it's more moving towards the middle of the season, which is time for more, you know, steph and Draymond missing a little few more games. You know, that's just how it rolls.
Speaker 1:Now were you saying fifth, in the West as well.
Speaker 3:Fifth, and right now they're like sixth in a tiebreaker oh my gosh and like a tiebreaker for like third.
Speaker 1:They're kind of in that little bubble right there Did I see Draymond Green and Steph Curry? Were they on the bench the other day?
Speaker 3:They indeed were, but they won the game. They beat the Rockets, who are second in the West. That was a good win, are?
Speaker 1:they low managing or something wrong?
Speaker 3:I don't really know. It's a regular season. Who knows, it could be wrong. They could have a left thumb injury and miss that game.
Speaker 2:Okay, all right, okay, all right.
Speaker 3:Left thumb bruise, left thumb bruise. Miss that game, man All right.
Speaker 1:Well, let's see we have Brandon in the background. So, yeah, marathon, not a sprint, that is true. So, brandon, if you're ready, man, we'd love to bring you on and get your take on this and talk about the ratings here. Yeah, there, he is All right, let's bring our guy Brandon on here.
Speaker 5:What's up, Brandon? What's?
Speaker 1:up. Yo hey, good to see you, man. Hey, first off, before we start, I just want to to tell you you are a. You know a. My family loves everybody that's on the show, but I always hear about how's brandon doing, where's brandon all of that. So you've got much love, man, and I also want to thank you for all your support of everybody on the show. We know our guy chris has started his uh, new podcast, generational debates. We know you've been supporting him. You Debates. We know you've been supporting him. You've been supporting Brianna, you've been supporting everybody. So we appreciate you, not only supporting Pick'em Pros, but everybody in our ecosystem, man, so much love to you, brandon.
Speaker 5:Much love to y'all too. Appreciate that.
Speaker 1:All right. Well, Brandon man, we got to talk. We've got just a couple minutes left here, but give us your take on the Lakers. What's what's going on with the Lakers?
Speaker 5:And then we want to get your take on these, these NBA ratings being so low. So far as the Lakers, I think it's kind of like. It's kind of like how the West is Like there's no like like yeah, lakers are bad, but it's like there's no like real separator in the West. Like in the East it's like, okay, there's Cleveland, there's Boston, okay, we know those two, but like in the West it's like there's no like real, maybe okc and that's about it, but like there's no real team out in the west that's like separate themselves above the rest. Like okc could slip up one night, maybe houston slipped up the other night, gold state could like get high, or denver or minnesota like. So I think it's just respectfully, they're all like bunched up and we're just waiting for maybe like a trade deadline to come around and maybe that, could you know, that could determine which team started to pull away from other teams in the West.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah. And so, speaking of trade and we'll get into the ratings here what move would you suggest that the Lakers make? I've got one in mind. I think we all maybe have different ones in mind, but if you're the Lakers, what move do you make?
Speaker 5:So they need a consistent score like maybe somebody on the wing, like somebody on the wing, so like the only two names I could think of would be like maybe, you know, like a brandon ingram or like a zach levine, maybe like somebody that's like a. They need another 20-point score that could kind of take the pressure off of LeBron and AD on some nights, because I know that the rookie connect, but it's like he probably coming off the bench or he could be in the lineup. Now the question is, who do the Lakers give up? Is it, you know? I know D-Lo is probably in trade talks. I'm pretty sure teams want, you know, hachimura, and like Austin Reeves. So it's like it's up to the Lakers. Do they want to, like you know, know, get those players up to pull the trigger? Or they could go after a big, maybe like a vucevic or valentine's, so like it's either.
Speaker 5:what do they feel like? I feel like they kind of need like another score, though I think they value score, though I think they value another score.
Speaker 1:Okay, what about AD? Is AD touchable?
Speaker 5:Do they trade him? I don't think you trade him. I think you make him the guy that likes this. I think Brian understands like, okay, I got a guy that's giving me that like this. I think Brian understands like, okay, I got a guy that is giving me 25, 28 a night. I could get my 20 on most nights. We just need another guy I'm not saying a superstar, but at least like an all-star caliber player that could stay on the floor healthy and give us 18, 20 a night. All right, and as long as we had that along with, let's say, maybe they go into a buyer market, maybe get some. You know vets get the right role players in there and you know, tweak the roster a little bit and that's kind of like the how the rest of the west is where it's like might what? I think one or two moves would determine who's gonna win out from the west okay, all right, all right now.
Speaker 1:Um, let's, let's touch on it. We're gonna, uh, let you close this one out, brandon. But, chris, I know you have some thoughts on the ratings, the NBA ratings, and why are the ratings in the tank and is there anything that can be done to fix it for the NBA?
Speaker 2:well, there's two main things. One, lebron. I feel like and also like why he doesn't get a good whistle anymore is because, well, like, if ever, but like is because there's no real star after him, like, no, everybody's kind of like still holding on to the legacy act that is LeBron. Even people are trying to push Wemby and try to push Luka and try to push all these guys, but because their games are a little bit boring and Wemby's still coming along, it's not looking great. Plus the really good teams. It doesn't feel like they're villains anymore.
Speaker 2:Everybody just kind of looks at them as corny in a way. Like we literally like watched the olympics and like kind of forgot that the celtics like won the championship. I was like, oh, lebron, steph katie, yeah, like that's what everybody was focusing on. So I, and because, like, the older guys are still carrying the torch and like, not necessarily like, and I feel like they've been trying to pass the torch but it's just not really been happening. And I think, like with the celtics, we it's weird because they play like prime golden state and everybody should like appreciate that because it's beautiful basketball, but then it's like it just seems corny like it's just like weird like it's weird being like oh yeah, like I love the Celtics, they're so good it just doesn't look or feel the same.
Speaker 2:They don't feel like they're villains, if that makes sense yeah, they definitely don't come across like that.
Speaker 3:I think part of it is that the older players are hanging on too long because, they're hanging around and the ratings rely on them and they're getting hurt in and out of the regular season and then they're not really letting the younger guys really shine really. So I think that's maybe part of it.
Speaker 1:OK, that's good, and we did touch on that a couple of weeks ago about the older guys LeBron, kd, steph, those guys being around and how they still are the face, and but when you're the face and you're not still the best, that definitely discourages people. So, brandon, what's your thoughts on the ratings and what can we do to fix it?
Speaker 5:So I've heard this a lot of times. I think the best answer would be it's a multitude of issues where, like, the first part would be how the game is played. Like I know a lot of people have said oh, you know, everybody's copying the Warriors. Warriors are like hey, we didn't tell 29 other teams to start shooting threes. Like we won how we won. And if y'all want to change up, hey, that's on y'all. So it was that. And like this, analytics, like Daryl Morey coming out and saying, oh, threes are worth more than twos, even though twos are still better shots than threes. So it was that. Then it's for as, like the old guard, new guard stuff.
Speaker 5:I think when players come out early, it had a pro and a con to it. Like I understood. Like, okay, they want to come out early, they don't want to stay in college, that's cool. You get in AD Zion. Now this draft, you got Cooper Flagg coming out.
Speaker 5:It's like, although that's cool, that kind of hurts not only the college game but also the NBA game, cause, like guys still not coming in developed. Yeah, it's like. Yeah, like it's great that Cooper coming out this year, but it's like I kind of want him as a college basketball fan Also. I kind of want him to stay elite two or three years to kind of like work on something and then come out where it's like that's kind of hurting the college game as well, like high school college. It kind of all like rolling together where it's like they kind of like like american players development are getting hurt because of au and guys coming out a year too early, where it's like, oh, I want to come out first year. It's like yeah, but we still kind of want you to work on your game before you get to the NBA. That's true, like I said. So really in short, it's style of play, analytics and American player development.
Speaker 1:Yeah, our American player development is definitely lacking. You can tell that by whenever you have the MVP race, you know four of the five top people are going to be international. So no, that definitely is a great point. So we'll have to come back in and hit these, because I want to go deeper into some of those. We'll have to double click that, as they like to say. So we'll go a little deeper into that. But, brandon man, it's a pleasure having you on. We appreciate you, man.
Speaker 1:Thanks for all the love and support, and we'll definitely dive deeper into these when we have a little more time, All right, ok, all right, dive deeper into these when we have a little more time, all right, okay, all right, hey, thank thank you, thank you all right, all right, yeah, yeah, so yeah, we definitely need to uh, go into, go into that a little more, but we are are at time, fellas, um, chris man, again appreciate all that you do with us and we want to definitely plug the fact that you've got generational debates is now out live.
