Speaker 1:

We are the Pick'em Pros.

Speaker 2:

Pros.

Speaker 1:

We're at you in the house with a special episode of who you Got father-son dynamic duo and we've got our special guest, christopher Davis, here. What's going on, my man?

Speaker 3:

Not much, not much. Just, you know, ready for this exciting week of football. You know, hopefully Panthers quarterback change. Let's see if we can get a win this weekend.

Speaker 1:

All right, all right, we're going to weekend. All right, all right, we're gonna see if we can get a win this week. Uh, it's gonna be, uh gonna be fun to see. We got a full slate of games 16 games and we'll get into all those picks at the end of the show, but before that we've got some fire topics to talk about. Today, of course, we uh have uh two carolina panther, uh, homers, i'ma say, and I say that I, I, I say that affectionately logical fan you're, you're a logical fan. What about?

Speaker 3:

you, chris, rain, slater, snow. I'm just saying you know I'm I'm along for the ride this season. Honestly, I definitely. These past two weeks our expectations have been a little disappointed, not going to lie. But I definitely feel like you know, quarterback change. Hopefully we have a more confident Andy Dalton just slinging it back there and we can see what happens.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right, we're going to see.

Speaker 1:

We're going to see now. Now, if he does come in there and sling it, what does that say about what Bryce has done? But don't answer that just yet. We're sling it. What does that say about what bryce has done? But don't answer that just yet. We're gonna get to that in in the fourth segment, so we're gonna talk about that. We gotta tease that. We're gonna talk about that.

Speaker 1:

Shout out to dc david cook on instagram uh, say we got him right where we want him. That was famously said on our uh show. Uh, about some other topics. So maybe, maybe that's the panthers plan, maybe you actually have the nfl right where you want them. Uh, as you are cooking up some plans and strategies that you know we're not aware of, all right, all right. Well, hey, we've got a fire show again. You can see the topics below we're going to talk about hey, who's the best team in the afc right now? Uh, the saints. They're off to a hot 2-0 start is. Is that a fluke or are they for real? The Dallas Cowboys? You know, they took a dive last week. Week two, once again after a big week one. Same old Cowboys, same old story. We're going to dive into that. Bryce Young again, we've got two Carolina Panther guys here, so we've got to talk about Bryce, you know, is he going to get a second chance? If he does, what will he do with it? And then, of course, we're going to make our week three picks. So we've got a great, great show planned for you here today.

Speaker 1:

Thanks for everyone that makes us put this show together. Thank you, summer, for behind the scenes. Summer is managing the comments. Shout out to you, I see you there. Thanks for everybody checking us out. Much love, all right. Thanks for everybody checking us out. Much love, all right.

Speaker 1:

And hey, we will be at King's two weeks from today. We'll be back at King's October 5th. That is going to be a great show, a lot of special guests, and we will be kicking off our weekly high school athlete feature. Okay, so we're going to be featuring a high school athlete weekly, uh, starting on that show. So you don't want to miss that. So, hey, all you high school athletes out there, step your game up and hopefully you can be on pick them pros. You know what I mean. All right, all right, all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's get into it. Let's start with the AFC and let's see who the best team is. So now, as we talk about this guys, about the best team in the AFC, I'm not talking about who's won Super Bowls OK, we're, we're. We're not talking about history. We're talking about today. Ok, we're talking about right now. If you are a team in the NFL, ok, who do you not want to see? You know what I mean. Who? Who are you afraid? Who do you not want to see? Who's I mean who? Who are you afraid? Who do you not want to see? Who's the best team right now in the afc?

Speaker 2:

diego, kick us off, man so, um, the best team in the afc is still the chiefs, and I know you said you know don't talk about sewer bowls and all that, but this is for a different reason. I promise this. For different reasons, okay, uh, every team should be scared to face the chiefs in the afc because of the refs. The refs are always going to be on the Chiefs side and in the first two games, you know they could easily be 0-2 right now, but the refs, kind of you know, bailed them out a little bit. So, because of the refs, I would not want to see the Chiefs, and the refs are going to make sure the Chiefs get a high seat in the AFC to see the Chiefs and the refs are going to make sure the Chiefs get a high, high seat in the AFC.

Speaker 1:

Wow, I did not see that coming. That, that's a that's an interesting take. What, what's your take on that, chris?

Speaker 3:

honestly, I agree mostly with the Chiefs, kind of scratching the surface of the team that they are. I do understand that the ref ball last game was a little crazy, just a little much. Some stuff wasn't called evenly, but you know, I really feel like that's what we can see with the Chiefs. But the one thing that I've noticed with this team is you have to turn Mahomes over and you also have to play perfect. It's like playing the Patriots back in the day. You have to play perfectly. You got to make sure your offense is on the field and not Patrick Mahomes when it comes down to the refs having to make a judgment call. Now, I do think a team in their division is sneaking up, though, with how well the Chargers have been playing.

Speaker 3:

And the thing is they've been running the ball really well. I really think that Harbaugh has them boys really locked in and I really think that Justin Herbert really hasn't had the Justin Herbert game yet, where you see him throw 400 yards, you see him throw three touchdowns and the defense has also played very well. Granted, they have played the Raiders and Panthers. So I really feel like we really are going to judge them when they play the Chiefs, but I do think they're having a great beginning to the season. So I think the Chargers are a bit interesting. I still think the Chiefs are the best team.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, and the Chargers, I agree they're interesting and, you know, by week five we'll have a much better feel of the teams because, you know, some teams are 2-0, some teams are 0-2. A lot of that may have something to do with who they played. We're finding that out week to week, so we're not quite sure yet. But I do agree. I believe in the Chargers. I definitely have them this week. I believe in Harbaugh and how he coaches. He just instantly turns teams around by focusing on the fundamentals. So you're seeing that yet again. So it's interesting. I don't know what type of big numbers we'll really see from Herbert, because of the style of play that they're playing. I do feel like the Chargers will continue to win and that should be a great game when they play the Chiefs. So I'm looking forward to that. But I feel that his numbers are they're already taking a bit of a dive. I think they'll continue to stay where they're at. However, I think they will be a winning team and be a playoff team. So that'll be interesting to see. But I'd say right now, I go with the Buffalo Bills, I think the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Bills and shout out to Finn Warrior we see your comments on IG, so keep those coming. Thank you, I would want to play the Bills. They're more balanced. I love their defense. They are putting up great numbers. Right now they have a 13-point differential. They're averaging 32.5 points a game. Defense has gotten three picks. They're playing solid. It really made the Dolphins look a lot worse than what they are. I mean, even before Tua. They picked Tua off three times before the concussion, so that game was already over. It was over so much to where we already posted a celebration pick in the third quarter on Instagram celebrating the fact that we got that one right. So I'm going with them. However, the Texans we all know the Texans are coming, but I think the Texans are still early, so they still have a little work to do. They only have a four-point differential. Love their defense, I love the weapons, I love what they've added, but I think the Texans are still a year away.

Speaker 1:

The Chiefs are the Chiefs. The Chiefs are obviously the gold standard. However, I believe that luck is going to run out. They remind me of the Steelers. They definitely remind me of the Patriots, like you said, christopher. So there's no doubt about that. They're very Patriot-esque.

Speaker 1:

To where you have to beat them. You have to bury them. You can't leave any doubt because, if not, there's going to be a call or a Mahomes amazing play that will put them over the top, so you can't leave it to chance. At the end, however, they remind me of the Steelers how, with Big Ben, with Ben Roethlisberger, they used to win a lot of games like that and have all these miraculous comebacks. And then, all of a sudden, one year, they were having that drive and everyone thought they were going to win, and they didn't, and they were never that drive, and, and, and everyone thought they were going to win, and they didn't, and they were never the same since. Um, and at some point, the chiefs are going to have to get out of this, these tight games, and start actually beating people the way that they uh, the way that we feel they can.

Speaker 2:

So you know they're going to do it in the playoffs. They're going to well, they're going to play their potential in the playoffs.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about that. I believe that they're going to try. They certainly will. They definitely will hit that switch and try to flip the switch. But will they be able to flip the switch in the playoffs this year? What do you think, Chris?

Speaker 3:

I truly believe that what we've seen, they're going to flip the switch because every single year I think last year proved to us even when they didn't have the strongest receiving core, they still managed to win a super bowl. I truly think that travis kelsey's lack of involvement in the offense is a bit of concern early on in the season because again, one of the greatest tight ends ever and you're not seeing him be as productive as he typically is. So hopefully they get that squared away and they can really lock in. But honestly, everybody is not worried about the Chiefs until playoff time and we definitely will see how they play. But I really think they're just going to lock in and just definitely make a push.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah and hey, the fact that they started off two with O is great for them. That gives them a little bit of cushion, that gives them some breathing room and I will give them credit for, you know, really taking the preseason seriously enough to try to get off to that good start. You know they play their players in the preseason. They have a hard training camp, so they do everything possible to try to get off to a good start and then that gives them some breathing room. So, and they've gotten off to the start that they need all right, well, great. First topic man. Let's transition over to the saints. Let's go to the saints now.

Speaker 1:

Yes, travis is uh, hurting the lords, he's hurt, he's hurting my team because I I went off of my typical. I normally go receiver first and then I got caught up, um, because I had a low draft pick this year so I couldn't get a top tier receiver. So I had to go with a different strategy and so I actually picked up Kelsey early in one of my leagues and, yeah, that definitely impacted me, but it won't impact me enough to lose to Josh. So, josh, you're in the Pick'em Pro League and Josh, you're going to get beat down and and, josh, I tell you what if you somehow get lucky and win, we'll send you a Pick'em Pro shirt, but unfortunately you're going to have to buy it because I'm going to beat you. So I just wanted to say that to you, josh. All right, now we got a question here, so it's from Chase. Thanks for the question. So do you guys think this will be the 49ers last year to win a Super Bowl before losing their superhero roster? What do you think?

Speaker 2:

Diego. I think their window closed last year because you know now they've already paid everybody, they overpaid. I think they overpaid IUK. Iuk is definitely not a $30 million a year receiver and everybody's been holding out at camp and then because of that there's been a lot of injuries. I definitely not a $30 million a year receiver and and everybody's been holding out of camp and then because of that there's been a lot of injuries. Debo McCaffrey and kill are all going to miss the next game and Trent Williams he just he had had like what A few two days of practice before his game. Yup, and Brock Purdy is going to want some money.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, after this year.

Speaker 2:

So he's going to get paid. Yeah, I think their window is already closed.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what do you think, chris?

Speaker 3:

I believe that this year probably has to be the year that they break through, because Brock Purdy is going to get at least $60 million, and that's seeing the quarterback market. I feel weird about saying that because I've seen brock ford play quarterback like listen. Him getting 60 million a year shows how broken the quarterback market is. Anyway, I truly believe that they're a good team. They they've come out struggling this season, though I definitely the vikings game showed a little bit of issues and I don't know. I truly believe that the Eagles and the Lions are definitely more. They're more complete at the moment and they're not dealing with the injury bug as badly. So I don't know. I feel like if the Niners get healthy towards the end of the season, maybe they can make a push. But this year has to be the year because next year they got to start breaking it up.

Speaker 1:

yeah, yeah, I agree with you, chris. Uh, this, this if they're going to do it, it would have to be this year, but I I think it's closed on them. Um, just because of the even, just the injuries, the, the attrition you know, playing those long Debo, he continues to stay nicked and stay hurt. Five years, that, yeah. So I don't see them getting over the hump and winning it this year. I think the window is closed and then I believe, as we go into next year, it's slammed shut, as they start to have to, you know, pay Brock and do those types of things. And, finn Warrior, thanks for the support. Make sure you stay with us, my man, you, miami Dolphins. See, you're a Miami Dolphin fan. You'll definitely want to see our picks this week, because I got a surprise on that. So stay with us, all right. So let's go to the Saints here, as we have here. So the Saints have gotten off to a 2-0, start blowing teams out.

Speaker 2:

Although one of those teams was the Panthers, but hey, maybe that actually shows the Panthers aren't that bad because they blew out the Cowboys. The exact same way. And that was in Dallas. Maybe the Panthers are just as good as the Cowboys, who knows?

Speaker 1:

Well, the Dallas Cowboys are coming to Carolina this year, I believe, if I have my facts straight on that. So hey, maybe that'll be a Super Bowl preview. We'll see. But hey, man, go ahead and give us your take on the Saints. Are they for real or is this a fluke?

Speaker 2:

I actually think they're for real. This year it was just like a perfect scenario of a bunch of things coming together that I missed before the season. Uh, derrick carr, of course he. He's coming with the saints. He, this is his prove it year, or else they're gonna move on from him if he doesn't play well this year. And um and and alvin kamara, you've seen him get off to the hot start and, and I actually saw today that his contract situation he only has two years left in his contract and this, this is one of the two years and he has zero guaranteed money left.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so he's he's balling out to get that money. That's the formula.

Speaker 2:

He hasn't been healthy and I don't I can't remember last time alvin camaro was healthy and their receiver, chris olave he's coming up, his rookie deals ending soon, so he's willing to. He's willing to get his money. And their receiver, chris olave, he's coming up, his rookie deals ending soon, so he's going to, he's going to get his money. And their defense is always good. Anyway, they're, you know mercedes, but not mercedes anymore. Caesar superdome, that's a uh, um wow place to play, so I think I think actually for real this year they're gonna contend in nfc yeah, here's some stats for you guys on why I think the Saints are for real.

Speaker 3:

Look, derek Carr is throwing five touchdowns and a pick. They're 13 yards per game with 405.3 on offense, and they're seventh in yards allowed 273. So they're getting yards on you and they're stopping you. So I really think they're for real. This year they're plus 62 on the point differential and shout out Clint Kubiak man for basically revitalizing Derek Carr. I was talking to my friend who's a huge Saints fan and we were talking about Pete Carbuck. He was like look, it's the exact same offense, same staff, same players. They just needed a new voice in the room and a new offense to revitalize them. So I don't know, as a Panthers fan, having a great team in your division it kind of hurts because you're a team with that offense cooked like this. Oh okay, this is new, but I'm definitely excited seeing Kamara's resurgence. He's one of my favorite running backs. Seeing him get back to his know rushing and receiving ways it's. It's crazy.

Speaker 1:

So I definitely think they're for real yeah, I, I agree, I think we're all in agreement here. It's hard to not think they're for real. You know, it'd be one thing if they went two and oh, okay, then you could easily call that a fluke, especially the way they've uh, the way their record has been the last few years and not having Sean Payton anymore and all that. But the way they beat the Cowboys down in Dallas, that's like okay. And the numbers they're putting up again, you rattled a lot of them off already, but averaging 45.5 points a game, that is just absolutely ridiculous. I've had seven sacks so far, so that defense is still falling out. Derrick carr is doing his thing, and I also love the fact that chris olave he's not even a leading receiver, so he's their number one, but he's, he's like. Third, I believe in receiving right, right, yeah, he he's. He's um been the most yards, which means they're spreading the ball around, which I love. So that all speaks volumes and I believe we have them to win this week in a tough game that we probably would never pick the Saints to win. But the way they're starting, yeah, I definitely believe in them. So looking forward to seeing how that, how that unfolds, all right. So, hey, let's move on to a lot.

Speaker 1:

A lot of people talk to cowboys. We don't talk it as much as other people, but we do have somebody on this show that speaks fluent cowboy. So if you want to get your Dallas Cowboy news, you should get it from Pickham Pros. All right, but the Cowboys in true Dallas Cowboy fashion, you know, look great. The Cowboys in true Dallas Cowboy fashion, you know, looked great. That first week went on the road, wow. Then, of course, all the talk started up and you know Michael Parsons' podcast got going again and everything. And then they went home and got blown out by the Saints. Again. We believe in the Saints, but that was still an atrocious beatdown. So, diego, with the Dallas Cowboys, are they the same old Dallas Cowboys? What's going to happen this year with the Cowboys?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think the Cowboys they're still the same old Cowboys and I was saying this and people were saying this before the season, that the Cowboys they were going to be the same because they didn't really make any off-season additions. They got Zeke. I mean Zeke looks okay, he looks okay, but everyone else they didn't really change anything else with the roster I think Zeke is.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry I'm going to cut you off, but I know Johnny O from Hole Shots is watching, who took a shot at the Panthers. But, johnny man, we apologize for talking so much junk about Zeke. We know he's your favorite cowboy ever. So we apologize for that, but go ahead yeah, well.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, as I said earlier, zeke looked okay and uh, their roster um was stopped. They didn't change anything, their roster yeah, and uh, I was wasn't really expecting anything. And then they have that one win against the Browns, week one, and everyone's like rah the Cowboys, you, you picked them to win the division, and then they no, I picked the eagles no, and then you're like yeah, I'm changing that well with the cowboys.

Speaker 1:

That was just a statement, just. You know, in the in the man cave after the game we have footage I might have had a sip of yak or something. I I mean that was not on record, that was an off-record statement. You're supposed to keep home business at home.

Speaker 2:

Okay, that was a home statement, all right. No, I didn't say that on the show. Yes, you said it on the show, did I? Yes?

Speaker 1:

I don't remember that. You're going to have to show me that. You're going to have to show me that I pull that up.

Speaker 2:

Then, of course, they get blown out. Now it's the same old Cowboys. I think they're going to be the same Cowboys.

Speaker 3:

Honestly for me I'm not going to lie they struggle versus the Kubiak Shanahan offenses anyway. I mean, that's how they got whooped by Green Bay last year. And then we see the Saints blow them out basically with that same offensive philosophy. And what worries me is just seeing Micah get taken out of the game like that because, like he is a true game wrecker. And then the Saints' plan was just, was just hey, we're gonna run stretch and we're just gonna run at the corners and basically say, hey, stop this. And then they couldn't. So I just I don't know. I truly believe that the saints game plan versus the cowboys defense was really good.

Speaker 3:

Dallas, their offense leaves a lot to be desired because outside of cd, who's that wide receiver to and deck? You know he looks like a superstar one week and then he's inconsistently max. So, honestly, I really judge their games on how they play the eagles league during the year. That's how their season goes. It's a good barometer for success. If they beat the eagles, they're probably going to gonna go to the playoffs a little good. If they don't, it's gonna be a rough year. So I truly believe that they're gonna still be a team that's present in the nfc.

Speaker 1:

But as far as winning the division and, you know, looking like they're world beaters, like they did towards the end of last year, I don't I don't think it's um, it's going to be same old cowboys as far as making the playoffs and, you know, having an exit before the nfc championship game. So it will be the same as far as that goes. Um, you know, are they as bad as they look last week? No, but they are too one-dimensional to make it to the NFC Championship game or get to the Super Bowl. Like you said. It's way too much CD. They're not able to spread the ball around, they don't have a running game. They have no speed coming out of the backfield. Those were things that they needed to address. They need to get a solid number two and they need to get some world-class speed coming out of that backfield. If they could have addressed those two things, they could have had a shot. But without that, when they, when they face the higher end teams, of course they'll beat up on the smaller teams and put up big stats and everyone will get excited. But when it comes time to playing the, the uh, the elite teams, that's where they'll struggle and again, that is the definition of same old Cowboys. So yeah, I think we agree on that, but let us know in the comments.

Speaker 1:

We've got a comment here on IG. I'll just read out here from David cook said Dallas is good. Every team has weeks. They lay eggs. Jake Ferguson makes a big difference and the difference will, and the defense will get it together under Zimmer. Okay, we will see. Now, dc, that's what we call you that's spoken like a true cowboy fan. Now, my man, I do have to admit so I don't know. You sounded like Chris and Diego when they talk about the Panthers. You sounded like that about the Cowboys.

Speaker 3:

You told us this episode, man, I know really.

Speaker 1:

I've got to hey be happy Dez isn't here, because Dez, oh man, when he's on here with us, it'll be two on two. Speaking of Dez, dez is hiding again, man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think it's because I won. He's scared to face me.

Speaker 1:

It happens a couple times every year we have to, we have to call the authorities to find Desmond Clark. You know, whenever he, and especially when he loses to you I think that's what he has trouble with. You know he can kind of stomach losing to me, losing to an adult, you know we were about the same age and whatnot, but yeah, when he loses to you it seems to really hurt him to his core and we don't, we don't see him for weeks. So you know, we apologize to the audience. Uh, for that. You know he is, you know, pick and pro with us with the show who you got. But he, you know, does have some emotional issues when he loses to diego. So we do want to just, you know, mention, mention that. But we have his picks, he's represented, but he's in hiding, so we'll find him pretty soon.

Speaker 1:

All right, now let's move on to the Carolina Panthers and Bryce Young. Okay, we've had some comments already. I already know we've been chomping at the bit to talk about this before we make our week three picks. So Diego, bryce young was pulled. His record is, uh, I know he's won two games. How many? 14, 16.

Speaker 1:

I don't know six oh my goodness, 16 losses yeah, yeah, yeah yeah his record has been atrocious, but um, there's been a lot of blame going around. This is kind of a two-parter of number one will Bryce get another shot? And number two, if he gets a shot, will he be successful? Will he be a starter in this league? Your turn?

Speaker 2:

I believe that Bryce Young will get another shot. The Panthers didn't give up Caleb Williams. Well, the pick that ended up being Caleb Williams, dj Moore, a few other things to get Bryce Young, then throw him away after two years. Bryce Young will get another shot. This is just a learning moment, so you can learn. Andy Dalton's had a lot of experience, had some success and he did play well on the one start that he did play in last year. Okay, and I think he's just going to learn. He's going to take in everything and have something to prove coming in and maybe, when the offense is, when things are a little better, we'll bring, we'll, we'll bring Bryce young in and he will succeed.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now we're going to give it to Chris in a second, but I just have one comment back. I don't sense much base in your voice. Your chest doesn't seem to be out too much, it seems to be in a little bit. Yeah, but I don't, I mean again, you seem kind of melancholy, you seem kind of sad. I I just I don't sense, I mean I don't know we haven't led, we haven't like led in the fourth quarter okay in like years okay actually we only games we won they were like last second uh thing, last field goal.

Speaker 1:

We haven't like actually like had a true lead in like two years okay so it's pretty sad man there's not much to be excited about well, I I might have to, I may need them to lose one more, so ticket prices can continue to come down did cj stroud head to head.

Speaker 2:

That was a very big win and yeah, okay all right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was two wins. So, chris, what you got, man all right.

Speaker 3:

So I feel like, as a panthers fan, we did it in reverse. We could have had andy dalton start. Let him sit behind bryce, you know, probably sucked a little. They got a high draft pick, that would have been fine, but instead we threw Bryce out there with out an offensive line, 37 year old, adam Thielen, miles Sanders, who all of a sudden forgot how to run the football, and a bunch of other stuff went wrong last season. So I feel like his confidence got broken and we saw that in the first two games. Now I truly believe that he's a great player and he just needs to build that like belief in himself again. And you, we've seen what.

Speaker 3:

The two quarterbacks who left carolina with baker mayfield and sam darwin, we saw their confidence get shaken. When they got there. They got in the right situation, right team, right scenarios. They look like they're falling. I mean, baker mayfield looks like an early mvp candidate. Nobody thought we'd be saying that at the beginning of the season. The way he's been playing for Tampa is supposed to be falling. That's crazy. Okay, I'll stand on that.

Speaker 2:

Baker looks good.

Speaker 3:

Baker looks good. I'm like okay, you're showing something.

Speaker 2:

Baker wasn't even that good in Cleveland. I just think Tampa is a good. That's not saying much about the pant.

Speaker 1:

That's like what the panthers is saying yeah it was the perfect situation.

Speaker 2:

He wasn't even good in cleveland.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, you know, and see, I, I, I wasn't gonna do this, but you know it's funny because diego gets excited whenever the new quarterback comes in. So you know he's excited. He was excited about Bryce still holding on. He doesn't want to admit, you know, uh, but you know it's looking a little shaky. You know, um, when Sam Darnold came, he was super excited, pumped. Oh, man, everyone, you know, pump, pump, pump.

Speaker 1:

And then, after a couple games, you know uh, then man, he stinks. Oh, yada, yada, yada. You know. And then you know what? I don't have it. Wait, wait, do I have it? Hold on, let me see, I don't think I can show it. I'm going to have to show it. You know what, diego, you're getting off the hook. Wait, wait, wait, hold on, let me see if I have it. Darn, I don't think I have it. Okay, anyway, I have a clip. I'll just explain. I'm not going to embarrass him, but I just remember, with the junk you were talking when Baker came to Carolina and it was all bravado, bravado, bravado, and then by the end of the season it was doom and gloom.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but see, I see things in Bryce Young Wish.

Speaker 1:

I had that clip.

Speaker 2:

See, I gave up on Baker and Sam Darnold after I saw that they weren't doing anything but Bryce. I think he's going to be solid.

Speaker 1:

Bryce. Okay, but have you guys seen? Okay, so I want to be be. I like the Panthers. I've spent thousands of dollars on tickets to go see the Panthers play about, to spend some more money to see them play next week Okay. So I want the Panthers to win and I want Bryce to be successful. But I'm sorry y'all, I just don. I just don't see it because at least with the other guys we saw flashes. You know you might see a play here or there and you go. Oh, okay, man, all right.

Speaker 2:

I see that I've seen plays when they played the Packers that one week do you? Remember that.

Speaker 3:

That was my blind belief. I'm not going to lie. I was on a high train.

Speaker 2:

And then they were spiking the ball. Then the time ran out and they were about to kick the game-winning field goal like 20-yard line. That was going to be Bryce's third win. And then again CJ and the Texans. He balled out and then I forgot what the other win was.

Speaker 1:

But did he?

Speaker 2:

I mean, we got to, I mean, okay, he actually balled out against Green Bay. He was actually really good, he was showing out.

Speaker 1:

Chris, did he ball out against Texans, against Green?

Speaker 3:

Bay. The Packers game is what gave me hope. That's what made me be like okay, we get some pieces around him, we're going to look good. Now, sometimes the Packers defense is a little shoddy, so I'm like I'm not going to work.

Speaker 2:

Packers made it to the divisional round almost the NFC championship.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it can't be that bad. And again now my guy Cam Newton, on his show Fourth and One. He said he was like y'all. He said Bryce will be okay, but you got to give him help. You blamed it on the organization and all that. But he literally said he pulled his hand out. He said all you have to do is give him an offensive line, give him running back, give him a tight end, give him a defense. I'm like, well, good God. He doesn't need all that he just needs a solid O-line and a better defense.

Speaker 2:

That's it.

Speaker 3:

He lost five starters on defense. So like it's not like, that side of the ball wasn't affected during the offseason. It's just that there was so much focus on Bryce and like getting better and being like in the redemption arc. Like we lost Yitzir Gross-Machos, brian Burns, jeremy Chen. Like we lost Ricky Luver we lost some of our best defenders. So like there, jones jeremy chan, like we lost we lost some of our best defenders.

Speaker 1:

so like there's a lot work, other things that's like wrong with the panthers?

Speaker 3:

that's not just bryce young.

Speaker 1:

So okay, all right, let's answer. So this is a great question, uh, from chasing great great point, uh, christopher. So, uh, diego, do you think if bryce young in CJ Stroud's position, he would have performed better? So if he was in Houston, you think?

Speaker 2:

so, most definitely, I think the Texans could have, maybe could have won. Well, actually, no, I'm not going to go that far they probably would have gone the same, because they ended up playing the Ravens and they probably weren't going to beat the Ravens. I think they would have gone the same, the same amount.

Speaker 3:

They would have gone the same, the same amount, they both, they would have gone second. What do you think, chris, I mean?

Speaker 1:

look, you have a great offensive lineman.

Speaker 3:

Are we talking like last year or this year? Because last year, last year, I really feel like it's a much better situation. D'amico Ryan's obviously the better head coach than Frank Reich. You have a solid offensive line Nico Collins and Tank Dell. Nico Collins is one of the most underrated receivers in the league. He's something special. Tank Dell was having an amazing rookie year before he got injured. Dalton Schultz is a very solid tight end.

Speaker 3:

There's a bunch of stuff that Houston has that Carolina we just didn't. I think we overrated the coaching staff and we grossly underplayed how good that. Like Carolina, we just didn't and like I don't think. I think we overrated the coaching staff and we grossly underplayed how good the situation in Houston was. We didn't realize that, like they low-key, have a foundation, they have a good. They had a good running game the year before CJ Stroud got there. Nico Collins performed, but it wasn't at a high level. He showed some flashes. I truly believe that, like that situation in Houston, everybody grossly underestimated how good of a coach D'Amico Ryans is and how great of a player CJ Stroud was, and it was just a perfect score. It was lightning in a bottle.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, my only thing, and we're going to move on to week three picks here. But you know, I hear you know, the situation in houston was so much better, so much better, so much better. But y'all, the situation was so bad in houston that deshaun watson, facing criminal charges, refused to play for the Houston Texans. That's how bad it was.

Speaker 2:

There was a year in between. There was a year in between.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

And then they got better. They added Dalton Schultz to your CJ Godwin. They drafted Tank. They had Nico really show that he was the guy.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

And then they got a great head coach.

Speaker 1:

So they had an amazing year in between, so that that that transition they built around in between okay built in between, like they were bad for like a year okay then they were built.

Speaker 3:

They built some good stuff, okay I truly believe it's a testament to coaching, more so than anything, it's coaching and an organization in lockstep with each other. I feel like what the Panthers. Sometimes the coach's decision ain't the same as the owner's decision.

Speaker 3:

If you know what I mean. Listen, tapper, I just look at him like I don't know what you're doing, man. It's like. It's like we have. We have a good I don't know. It feels like we have like a great concept, so we have great beliefs, but on the field and on the on-field performance of the players, it's just not there. Nobody feels inspired. Yeah, that was kind of. It would be different if we were like losing close games. We're getting blown out out Like this is not it is bad, Like it is bad.

Speaker 3:

They're like you should subjugate your fans too, like your fans should turn on the TV every week as soon as you see the you go to red zone and unfortunately that's what we're all seeing. So I just believe it's a lack of stability in the go to run. So this cannot be what the industry is going through and unfortunately that's what we're all seeing. So I just believe it's a lack of stability in the organization.

Speaker 1:

But Bryce isn't necessarily making it better, because of his lack of confidence what they may need and we're going to give this to them. So the last time. So Pick'em Pros have not been in the building in years I think you said like six years, which sounds crazy to Bank of America Stadium. We haven't been there to a game and the last time we were there, they won and they were looking great before. Then Cam got hurt and then things kind of went downhill. So we will be, we will be back next week and perhaps that'll be the spark that's needed and things will turn around. So if the Panthers just start to miraculously start winning, it has nothing to do with the quarterback change. It has nothing to do with any of that. It's simply because Pick'em Pros showed up and gave them the mojo that they needed. So remember that, remember that here.

Speaker 1:

All right, let's move on to our week three. Week three, picks man. We've got a full slate of games. We've got 16 games in week three before the buys hit and we had that first game. The Jets played the Patriots Thursday night and while that was a blowout, aaron Rodgers seems to look a lot better. He was looking all of his age with the torn achilles in that first game and now looks like moving a little better and they're starting to move the ball and whatnot. So I don't know if that was um, you know shows how good the jets are becoming, or if that's just you know an indictment on the patriots. Again, we still don't know these teams yet. So that's the the kind of the beauty of this as we work through the first few weeks.

Speaker 2:

But what's your take on that game Thursday night, man, that you uh got correct yeah, well, uh, the Patriots aren't that good and it was a home opener, so you know Aaron Rodgers going to try and show out and uh, the pages they're just. That was a good team to have your home opener against. They just didn't play that well. Aaron Rodgers was able to show out against that bad team.

Speaker 1:

Go.

Speaker 3:

Honestly, yeah, vintage Aaron Rodgers performance. You see him being Mr Cerebro with offense, just controlling everything. I wish Gary Wilson had more production. He's not on my fantasy team but you know I want gary wilson to start showing out a little bit more. But really, raylon allen and bruce hall are my surprises of the jets, because they're the way they're running the ball. It's um is is really impressive. So I feel like the jets they they could make things interesting. You have a wily veteran quarterback. You know when he's on he's on. I mean, he won two. He won two MVPs the past like four years. I don't know I posted kill easy, that's the same dude, but it looked like we were getting some shades of those old performances they had back during those back-to-back mvp performances.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, yeah, it definitely, definitely looked like they turned the corner. I see some comments and some chatter. There seems to be a lot of curiosity, um, and slander on my name, which I don't appreciate on my, my pick for thursday. Okay, see, see, you guys. You guys never want to focus on the positive. You just want to focus on the very few games that I happen to get wrong, so that that may have been a game that I got wrong okay, but did you win the picks in the first two weeks?

Speaker 2:

did you win? Did you win a set or was it me?

Speaker 1:

um, I've not won a set, but the thing is so, see, it's slow and steady. Slow and steady wins the race. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon, it's a long season there's 18 weeks and it's all about winning it at the end. Okay, so I finished second last week, all right, I'm just in my position, okay, I'm analyzing, all right, and I will chase you guys down and easily win this at the end. So I am not concerned at all. So I'm not gonna get uh, emotional or, um, you know, I'm not gonna cry about one loss. It's just one loss. We all, we all know my record what's your uh?

Speaker 2:

take on the game. Uh, chris, you're 0-1.

Speaker 1:

What's your take?

Speaker 3:

on the game, chris, the Just Patriots game, yeah, okay, oh. Closing thoughts. Honestly, patriots, y'all punt the season. Let's see, we got to get Drake all together because we don't drake to get ruined and have his confidence shaken. Um, jacoby, you know he tried his best at offensive lines. Looking a little shoddy, so it's, it's looking real I honestly think that.

Speaker 3:

I really think that the jets this is their time to surprise everybody. You, everybody is on the hot seat in some way or fashion. There's a bunch of pressure, that's true. I'm happy. The defense actually like I don't know what to take stock of the Jets' defense, though, because they performed poorly against the 49ers and they made it a pretty close game with the Titans, so it's a little rough, but I definitely, definitely would say the Jets are going to make things interesting towards the end of the season.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, they're. They're now going to make a push for sure. Again, they can't hang with Buffalo. As I've declared, they're the best team in the AFC, but you know, as far as some playing some of these other teams, they'll have a chance, especially at home. I think they'll be a good home team. New York is a great crowd, so I think they'll definitely perform there. All right. Well, let's get to our no-brainer game. So we've got 13. We actually have 12 because I've changed my pick on one of these games. All right, so I'm on the island for, I believe, three this week. But, diego, man, go ahead and kick us off and let's run through these games that yourself, des and I agree on, and then we'll see if Chris agrees with our take on these. So why don't you start us off, man?

Speaker 2:

All right. So the first no-brainer game is the new york giants traveling to cleveland to play the browns, and we all have the browns, and this is just mainly because the giants are so bad that, you know, I just don't know if they can win a game against a team like that.

Speaker 1:

So we got the browns. Okay, yeah, we got the browns. Man, what do you think on that, chris?

Speaker 3:

I agree browns defense is gonna lock in. Honestly, it might just be like a low-scoring slugfest with how both of those offenses tend to perform sometimes, but the Browns have the better defense. I definitely have the Browns in this game.

Speaker 1:

All right. So we all agree on that. You want to take the Browns. They're a six-and-a-half-point favorite home. All right. What's the next one? Diego, all right next no-brainer game.

Speaker 1:

We got the bears traveling to india to play the colts and we all have the colts in this one. Um, no, we have the. Uh, I think we got the bears, the, the, the, the colt. The colts are the uh favorite. The colts are the favorite by one, yeah, but, but, but, we have the bears, yeah we all have the bears in this one Caleb going on the road.

Speaker 2:

He went on the road Sunday night. Didn't look that great, so I think he's going to want to get his revenge on the Colts and get a win in Indy.

Speaker 3:

Honestly, this game's a toss-up for me. Guys, I'm not going to lie.

Speaker 1:

It is close.

Speaker 3:

Chicago's offensive line scares me, man. I don't want another situation with, you know, our team with Caleb Williams having like a great generational prospect and he's having to run for his life. So, close to call, I think AR is going to like flip a switch and I think he's going to lock in.

Speaker 1:

So I actually have the Colts in this one Okay, okay, we got the Colts, so he's going with the the Colts in this one. Okay, okay, we got the Colts, so he's going with the favorite Colts.

Speaker 2:

The favorite the Bears were getting all these receivers when really they just needed to get their own line set. You know that us, that that's what they had to do and everyone was supposed to. Ooh, they have Keenan Allen and DJ and like yeah.

Speaker 1:

Keenan Allen's miss.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

He's hurt, missed two games. I stupidly took him in fantasy, so that was my bad on that. Yeah, those are your bad. Yeah, I normally don't make that mistake, so that was a rarity, so take note of that one, all right. Okay, so Chris is. So we disagree on that one. Love that, all right.

Speaker 2:

What's the next one? Next no-brainer game is the Texans traveling to Minnesota to play the Vikings, and we all have the Texans in this one. This should be pretty well, this isn't easy.

Speaker 1:

No, that's a tough one.

Speaker 2:

Minnesota's a tough place to play. They just beat the 49ers there last week, but I think the Texans they're going to go in there and get a win with all their great weapons around CJ, so yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's a tough one again that we had a comment on there saying that was the babe. I think that is debatable, especially since it's in Minnesota. Minnesota is playing well. Minnesota is very well coached. Uh, I love the um, the coaching that they have there. Um, they put it together Well. I mean again with, uh, justin Jefferson. Uh, now they've got my guy Aaron Jones running back. They look really good. Houston's strong. I love the way Houston is grinding these games out. I think this is another game that they grind out. It's going to be close, it's going to come down to the wire. It can go either way. What's your take, chris?

Speaker 3:

I believe the key matchup that we're gonna see is the houston texans offense versus brian flores crazy defense, because that's if they were able to stop the 49ers. I I really think that they got. They got the horses to definitely, definitely make some trouble for the texans. Now I do think the texans are gonna win because they do have the better defense. The key thing for the texans is k you shut down the bad man, justin jefferson, because that's my favorite receiver in the league. He's you know he's gonna make some plays.

Speaker 3:

So I think, honestly, what I'm hoping for is a showcase between justin jefferson and stefan diggs yeah almost like even the balanced trade and like nfl history yeah I don't want to see both of them just go to war and just yeah, I want to see that too, I was.

Speaker 1:

I was about to bring up dig. So yeah, you brought that up. Yeah yeah man. Yeah, yeah, that that's interesting because you know we think of him with buffalo now. But yeah, you know he wants to do his thing. That's indoors, it's in turf, it's going to be a track meet. Yeah, very, very interesting. So that's going to be a must-see game, all right.

Speaker 2:

What's the next one? Next game is the oh wow. Next game is Philadelphia Eagles traveling to New Orleans to play the Saints.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And we all have the Saints in this one. This shouldn't be a no-brainer game. We all agree, we all agree on it, but it's not like we just Right. You know what I'm saying. We all have the Saints in this one. I'm confident in the Saints and their home field advantage is going to be loud for the Eagles to work or function there. And then I don't know about AJ Brown's health.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there's that too there. And then, uh, I don't know about aj brown's health, yeah, yeah that's big. Their defense is definitely struggling and and you know how saints have been scoring the last two games they're gonna definitely take advantage of that. Yeah, we, we all got the saints what do you think, chris?

Speaker 3:

this is toss up. Um, honestly, I'm gonna ride the wave. New orleans they're definitely. They definitely look serious. Um, philly, their inconsistencies on offense is what concerns me, because the moments they look amazing and like they look unguardable without aj brown. Who's that other threat outsider? Dav Devontae Smith, you know, and the Saints have a really good secondary, so I do think that the Saints pull this one out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, all right, All right, so we all agree on that one. What's our next one?

Speaker 2:

man. All right Next no-brainer is the Broncos traveling to Tampa to play the Bucs, and we all have the Bucs. Baker Baker's going to dominate MVP Baker, oh, definitely not hey he's looking good man. Not there yet, but yeah, still going with the Bucs. They're looking good, so stick with that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'll say Tampa as well. I do believe that they're going to do their thing, they're going to handle business.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

All right. Next no-brainer game is the Packers going to Tennessee to play the Titans. We all have the Packers in this one. Tennessee, they haven't been looking that great, Will Levis has been looking a little out of sort in the first two games. And Green Bay even though they don't have Jordan Love, they were able to get that win against the Colts, which is a solid team. So all going with the Packers.

Speaker 1:

That Will Levis rookie card that we pulled on Crackin' Packs about a month ago. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I think that's losing its value. Yeah, the value of that car has gone down.

Speaker 3:

Well, Malik Willis revenge game. Honestly, I got Green Bay. They're going to run the ball. They're going to do their thing.

Speaker 2:

I forgot he played there.

Speaker 1:

All right, oh man, the next one, oh boy All right.

Speaker 2:

Next game is the Carolina Panthers traveling to Vegas to play the.

Speaker 1:

Raiders.

Speaker 2:

And we all have the Raiders.

Speaker 1:

You're going against your team.

Speaker 2:

It's in Vegas. You know it's in Vegas. You know the Raiders home and you know Devontae Adams is a great receiver, and Devontae Adams, he's a great receiver going against the awful defense that we have, so he's probably going for at least a buck fifty and two touchdowns. So, yeah, I'm going with the Raiders.

Speaker 3:

Y'all see the flag. Unfortunately, I'm not picking this team, listen.

Speaker 2:

I want to be right. I mean, this is getting really intense. I'm trying to get all the wins I can.

Speaker 3:

Listen, the way that JC Horn has been playing and he's our top cover corner and he's been getting cooked by everybody. Quentin Johnson put two touchdowns up on him. I'm not going to lie, this is one of the best receivers in football. It ain't looking good. I got the Raiders in a close one because, you know, still a team that's figuring it out.

Speaker 1:

but yeah, we'll see davante adams on your fantasy team, then you are definitely winning this one, yeah yeah, man, oh man, and big shout out to the raiders man for that road win in baltimore last week. That was, wow, that huge, that was a huge win. Devontae really willed them on that. Big props to him. I want to definitely give him a shout out on that one. This next one is not a no-brainer anymore because I've switched my pick, but go ahead.

Speaker 2:

Congratulations for that.

Speaker 1:

So you want me to take this with this. This is technically an island game. Yeah, you got it All right. So this was technically an island game, so I called it Audible. As I was doing my research and preparing for the show the show that millions of people were watching I had to get this one right. So I changed my pick and I'm going with the miami dolphins. So I know seattle is favorite with this uh miami, uh seattle game, but seattle, I feel, is overrated. Okay, seattle, beat um man this last, the patriots which you pick.

Speaker 2:

You pick them back, yeah, back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I know. But see, you know what I typically get on a team and then I'll just kind of stick with it, you know, and that's what happened here. So with Seattle, I think they are definitely a little overrated. They beat the Patriots what was that? That went in overtime, didn't it? That went like in overtime. They barely beat the Patriots and then they had another win over a team that turned out to not be that good. So they're not as good as their record says it is. And the Dolphins, I feel, are going to put a great game plan together. They still got Tyreek, they still have Waddle, they still have speed in the backfield. Most of it's not going to play, but they still have everybody's a track star in the backfield. They're going to come out with a lot of desperation and really try to prove people wrong. So I feel that this is going to be an upset that folks are just not catching yet. So I switched my pick. I'm going with the Dolphins on this one. What do?

Speaker 3:

you think, chris, you almost convinced me, you almost did Listen. I'm sorry, the way Geno's been balling. You know I believe that, mike, I think it's going to be closer than a lot of people think, but you know you win who's in front of you and, honestly, without Tua, I truly don't think that the Dolphins are going to look the same. On offense, I gotattle in this one. Sorry, I can't go with the go with audible.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, man all right, all right, ah, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, delores, on that, uh, so, uh, you didn't get to give your take on this one yeah, uh, I um, yeah, I'm going with the um, I'm going with the seahawks and uh, yeah, se, seattle's a tough place to play. They got the win last week. Tyler Thompson, he hasn't played a football game in two years. You're going to throw him into that hectic environment in Seattle with all the fans. It's just a crazy place to play. I don't know how good Miami is. I don't think Miami is going to play that good.

Speaker 1:

They're going to win this for with Seattle. They're going to win this one for Tua. They're going to be ready, man.

Speaker 2:

They're going to come out and get this one. I think they'll give it their effort and play hard.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if they'll win. All right, the next one Arizona's looking good. I don't know if this is a no-brainer, but we happen to agree on it. What's the next one, man?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, this is the Detroit Lions going to Arizona to play the Cardinals and we all got Detroit on this one. I know I have Detroit because I think they're the best team in the NFC and they had the loss last week and I don't think they're going to want to have two losses in a row this week and they're going to play as hard as they can, going to Arizona and make sure they show Arizona who's the real bosses in the NFC, kyler looked great last week.

Speaker 1:

Who do we look like, old Kyler? What's your take, chris?

Speaker 3:

I think it's going to be a lot closer than people think. I want to pick Lobson. I think I got Arizona surprises for people in Detroit the way Kyler before Marvin Harrison Jr.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I want to pick the upset I think I got arizona surprises people and actually troy the way kyle before marvin harrison jr.

Speaker 3:

As good as advertised. I truly think that this is this might be the upset.

Speaker 1:

I got arizona winning this one okay, all right, all right, yeah, not, not mad at that at all, because they look, you look really good, he looked really good fun to watch.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so fun to watch.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, kyler running around and connor running like hard oh man, yeah, james connor man, he's like yeah, two touchdowns he, he's become the iron man. Yeah, he's so, so steady and consistent. So, yeah, big shout to them all. Right, uh, what's next one?

Speaker 2:

So this next game is the Battle of the Injuries, and this is the San. Francisco 49ers traveling to LA to play the Rams and we all have the Niners. That's not saying much.

Speaker 1:

They are going to be without McCaffrey, Debo and Kittle in this game, Going against the Rams who are playing about Puka Nakua Cooper Cup slightly banged up, Stafford and I think a few other injuries yeah, and this is going to be a home game for the 49ers, because we know how it is in SoFi the 49er fans that live in Southern California you're going to see more red than anything in so far. So, yeah, they're going to pack it out and they're going to be pumped up.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I got the Niners in this one. Rest in peace to everybody's fantasy team everybody. Oh my gosh, I'm a puka so I know this hurts especially, but I really think that San Francisco is going to win big in this one yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely agree with that Summer.

Speaker 1:

Can you put that last comment up back on the screen? I didn't catch that one. It looked like it was said Miami to Seattle second longest road trip in the NFL. Oh, okay, okay, great, great, take Michael. Yeah, thanks for your comment on that one. That is a long trip, for sure, that definitely is a long trip one that is a long trip, for sure.

Speaker 2:

That definitely is a long trip.

Speaker 1:

It's cross country. Uh, yeah, yeah that that is a long trip. All right, what's the next one, diego?

Speaker 2:

all right. Next game is a sunday night football game, the chiefs traveling to atlanta to play the falcons. And we all have the chiefs in this one and I just think you know atlanta they're, they're a solid team, but Kansas City, that's a different animal and yeah, I just think they're going to pull it out just because they're the better team.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, this one is. I think this is Sunday Night Football, right? Yes, yeah, well, huh huh, sunday Night Football. They're in ATL. You know it might be jumping man, but yeah, I still have the chiefs though all right.

Speaker 3:

Who's playing in prime time? Patrick mahomes. Who's the guy playing out playing opposite of him? The guy who does it before? Well, prime time.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I didn't even think about that one monday night was a fluke.

Speaker 3:

We, we all know the eagles should have won that game anyway. You know, I believe that, yeah, he's gonna win this one and they're gonna roll, they're gonna be all right okay, all right, okay, what's the next one?

Speaker 2:

all right, next game. Well, there are actually two monday night games, so this is the one of the monday night games jacksonville, traveling to buffalo to play the bills. Now, we all have the bills in this one. I mean that they're at home and the bills mafia and it's gonna be tough for trevor to play well in that hectic environment.

Speaker 1:

So we all got the bills yeah, yeah, we definitely all have the bills in this one. Uh, man, man, we, I've got to get. We got to get the buffalo and get to a game. Got it, although they've got that new stadium that they're building, so I don't know if we wait for that, but got to to get up there and get to a game.

Speaker 2:

Got to jump on some tables, I think the old one would be dope, though, because it would be like one of the last years.

Speaker 1:

That's true. Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, it'd be good to see the old one too. What's your take on this one, chris?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I believe the Bills night game.

Speaker 2:

It's the Commanders traveling to Cincinnati to play the Bengals. Yeah, I got the Bengals winning and they're definitely going to score more than that spread says seven and a half. This is going to be a blowout. And you know, everyone's talking all about Jay and Daniels. Even though he had all those last second points, all those running plays that they were getting, they were losing and then he just gained a bunch of yards last second. To me it looked like he played a really good game, but I think the Bengals are going to win, and win big Mm. Hmm, how do you?

Speaker 1:

get a win? Yeah, absolutely. And Michael, with the comment, let us know, hey, have you been to Bill's games? I know you said epic food, which I know. I know that's epic food. Oh, my goodness, the wings and just everything. But yeah, let us know if you've been up there and if you're in the area. Hey, we'll have to hit you up when we come up there and get to Buffalo. But OK, so, yeah, yeah, the Bengals, bengals blow them out in this one. They they owe into shouldn. Yeah, yeah, the Bengals blow them out in this one. They 0-2, shouldn't be 0-2. They definitely going to have all hands on deck and blow them out in this one. What do you think, chris?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, bengals are going to play with desperation. They have to at this point. It's this, or the season slips away. So I definitely believe they're going to win this one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah for sure. Okay, all right. Well, those are our no brainers. We've got about 10 minutes left here before we have to run, so we've got two island games to go into. That's where Diego does and myself disagree. One of us are on the island. So we've got two island games to discuss and then we'll wrap up with uh talking about chris's uh show and we're gonna talk uh. We're gonna switch gears for a couple of minutes and talk music and the uh, the generational uh gap with, uh, some of the music coming out. So I can't wait to dive into that. But let's hit these island games real quick. We've got the chargers uh, versus the steelers uh. This should be a tight game. I think the spread on this one is the Steelers are favored by three at home. Diego, you're on an island by yourself on this one. Who'd you pick?

Speaker 2:

I picked the Steelers in this game and you know, being at home that's going to be a nice advantage, because that's a tough place to play all the fans and everything. And LA Chargers, they're making a long trip, they're on the road, uh, and justin fields feel like he's gonna just feel the starting right yeah, I think yeah, yeah, yeah, so justin fields is gonna play well and it's just gonna be hard for the chargers to win in that tough environment like that.

Speaker 1:

So going with steelers yeah, man, I'm going to charges. Man, I believe in harbaugh, I believe in the steel iers. I mean, the Steelers look solid. I think the Steelers, you know, will definitely beat up on any lower tier or mediocre team. But the Chargers, I think the Chargers are a mirror image of the Steelers. You know they're a team that's going to, you know, hard hat lunch bucket. Play good defense, you know going to be fundamentally sound. It play good defense, you know going to be fundamentally sound. So I don't think that the things that the Steelers do great are not going to cause them to eat this one out. I think the Chargers get this one. Harbaugh and his return to the NFL starts off 3-0. That's my take on that. I know Dez also has the Chargers. What do you think, chris?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, the way the Chargers have been playing, the way they've been running the ball, I definitely got the chargers in this one. Uh, don't think the steelers are this.

Speaker 1:

They concern me on offense and the chargers have been playing really good team defense these past few weeks, so yeah, yeah, and another thing about the steelers, because we've been there, uh, to a game, uh and all that, and it's not what you think. Um, you know they have a huge fan base, it's rabid and all that, but the Steelers fan base is more of the fact that Steeler fans just live everywhere. To me, the Steeler fans that are in North Carolina are more passionate than the ones there. Like, being there it wasn't. It was, it was nice, but it wasn't what you would think of.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my goodness, going to a Steeler game in this amazing, you know, home field advantage and all of that. Like, I don't think they really have that big of a home field advantage right now, especially with the team that they have. So, again, they've got a rabid fan base, but it's more of the global fan base that they have. So, um, again, they've got a rabid fan base, but it's more of the global fan base that they have. I, I think their road fans are way more wild than the home fans.

Speaker 2:

They're actually in pittsburgh, so that was something that really shocked me when we were there and michael made a good point that, um herbert, he he's questionable slash. Oh good point Him being out or or hobbled during the game that's going to be big big, big. Thing.

Speaker 1:

Great, great point, and thanks for your comment too, man. Thanks, thanks for supporting us, michael, we appreciate you. Um, yeah, so I just wanted to mention that, all right. So, hey, let's move on to the final Island game. Let's move on to the final island game.

Speaker 1:

Oh man, ravens, cowboys, Woo, this should be big. It's in a primetime spot, well, four o'clock, and so you know that primetime Ravens are desperate. They are desperate going to the Cowboys, but then I feel the Cowboys are also desperate, you know, coming off of that big loss last week. If they go one and two, you know that's just going to be the talk of everything. So I am on the island with with this one. Yes, that's right, the new fans are soft. I'm on an island with this one.

Speaker 1:

I have the Cowboys winning this game. Actually, as you all know, I speak fluent Cowboy, so you can definitely take this one to the bank. The Cowboys are going to get this one. The Ravens, I know they are desperate. They started off 0 and2, but they're starting to concern me the way they lost that game last week. Their offense is not clicking the way that it needs to be and I just don't know if they're going to be able to score enough to be able to beat the Cowboys, and with the Cowboys being at home and being desperate, I think that will end up being the difference. What's your take on this, diego?

Speaker 2:

You know what the Saints did to the Cowboys? That's just like bad, that's really that's really bad, and that's something you can't forget about. So the Ravens going in there, derek can't see.

Speaker 1:

They need a win that is their own to. The Ravens are in there.

Speaker 2:

Derrick Henry. See, they need a win. Right, it's a good stat. They're 0-2. The Ravens are 0-2. They've been really saving Derrick Henry mainly for the playoffs later in the season. But Derrick Henry is going to make a big difference this game. He's going to ball out, run all through the Dallas Cowboys defense and with him, and then Flowers and Lamar, I just think they're all really going to lock in in Dallas and get a win.

Speaker 1:

I love those guys, though. Yeah, what did you say, chris?

Speaker 3:

I got the Ravens. You know this is it's desperation time. Look, they got it. It's the same thing with the Bengals they don't win this one. This season slips away and it gets very very difficult. You know, I don't know what's the stat with like, oh, with three teams coming and going to the playoffs, but I don't know what the stat on that is, but this is definitely proven weak, like they have to close this game. It's going to be a close game, but they have to close it. They have to win this one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and so that just makes for a great clash. So I can't wait for this game. Definitely got to get the food ready and be ready for this. So, summer, great question. So for Fantasy, wow, does she play Baker or Lamar? So Lamar, he's on the road going against the Cowboys, the Bucs. I think the Bucs were a pretty big favorite, so I think they had a favorable matchup. Who do the Bucs play? Yeah, the Bucs play the Broncos. Yeah, woo, but Lamar is definitely your starting guy. What do y'all think?

Speaker 2:

I'd go with Lamar.

Speaker 1:

You'd still go with Lamar yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'd go with Lamar.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, all right, still go with Lamar I don't know how long this Baker. Thing will last.

Speaker 1:

So you're still salty man, come on, man, drink some water. Man, take a double cup. Man, Get you some water. Man, all right, oh man, all right. Well, hey, those are the topics. I know we got about five minutes left, but hey, chris man, we are so excited about what you've got coming up and if you have any questions, go ahead and put those in. We'll try to address those before we sign off here in a few minutes. But talk to us about your show and let's maybe dive into a question on the state of music with the generation.

Speaker 3:

Okay, so I'm coming out with a show starting next month Generational Debates. So I'm coming out with a show starting next month Generational Debates. Basically talking sports and music. Four topics about sports, news of the week, four topics on music. I want to basically bridge the gap.

Speaker 3:

Younger generation it feels like all of us are arguing and nobody, nobody's like sitting down, like willing to like have open dialogues about different eras and how different things are consumed, how players are even like, how their bodies are treated differently, how like all the medical advancements, all that stuff. So I definitely want to like have like a healthy debate, because I'm not. I'm gonna be honest, music I defer to people, Y'all music by and large for a minute. Way better, way better than what we have currently, but they're still good artists. It's just you got to find them on playlists. But the athletes I'm sorry I'm not going. There's some athletes who I've grown up with and seen who I'm like listen, they are the greatest at their current sport and you know, I don't want it to be a whole oh, lebron, michael, jordan, tom ready homes thing. I just want us to have open dialogues and have great debates and combos about these things, because there's something that's very near and dear to my heart I, I love that, I love that concept.

Speaker 1:

Uh, that is, uh, yeah great and you know we definitely want to support you your upcoming show and, you know, have you on here as much as possible. You know you're one of the few people you know outside of Dez, who's one of the pick and pros, to be on for an entire show, and I see that happening often. So we love your takes, we think you're a natural and I'm happy that we're able to meet. So it's definitely a pleasure and looking forward to growing this with you. So that's a fantastic concept. I know we've got a couple of general questions, but do you want to touch on anything either generationally, between athletes or music today?

Speaker 3:

I just want to touch on music for this person. So for me, I feel like the whole thing right now with finding artists that fit what you guys want because I hear a bunch of older people they will always hit us with oh, there's no real lyrics, all the beats are like this there's no true soul. You have to find the artist in playlists or go on music discovery. It's a lot more difficult because so much of what's pushed in the mainstream isn't as good or it's like it. Really to me, it just gets watered down. There's great, soulful artists. There's still people who can sing.

Speaker 3:

Because I'm one of those people who I'm like listen, I need my r&b singers to sing, not all this cursive stuff like no, like you have to, you gotta have some vocals to you. So there's still great artists. Unfortunately, the radio doesn't push them or you have to go to concerts or you just find them through other, bigger artists. So I definitely want to. I want my show to be like a gap, bringing light to those artists who I feel like fulfill that, like that like spirit and true, like testament of like what rap and R&B truly was. I love that. Yeah, I would love.

Speaker 3:

And basically, with the four topics I eventually wanted to grow where I have two, I have me and a co-host, an older artist and an older well, an older artist, younger artists, older athlete, younger athlete, and then like a or a journalist, older and young, and we all just kind of sit around and just debate and like kind of just sit down and talk about it.

Speaker 1:

so yeah, yeah, love that. So, um, yeah, in terms of the music, and I agree with you, the um radio stations, uh, both satellite and locally, play the same songs over and over and over, and you know it's funny, I I now, and to the point now, you know I'm older I really only hear about newer artists through, like Diego or through, you know, the younger generation, because you're more in tune with you know, um, with that, I rely more on the radio, so I'm just hearing what's fed to me and I'm not hearing. You know a lot of the, uh, the, the new artists. So how do you? I guess my question to you, before we get out, would be how do you go about finding new artists?

Speaker 3:

So, weirdly enough, the best resources that I've had is just Instagram, tiktok and then just going on playlists and like going through like music discovery, because the one thing that you can use in your app features is you can find artists who have like a. You can go select a station, be like this artist station or like go to your discover station on like apple music or spotify. You can definitely find artists that way, but but Instagram and TikTok has definitely helped me find artists who I really like.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right. No, that's good, good take. That was a great question. There's a couple of questions we're going to take, but do you have anything you want to say real quick about just the music game and the generational divide? You want to talk about how awful the music is today and how great it was back in my day?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, it's a little um different because the radio I feel like the radio music isn't as good. As you know. Music that you can find on your own, yeah, um see, I agree, I agree with that. And uh, yeah, I find a lot of the art music that I listen to I just find on my own and not really on the radio or on instagram or you know something like that.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, oh yeah. No, I really excited to to talk more about this. So, um, chris, tell you what. What we'll do is we'll, we'll come back next week and, um, we'll cut a segment or two. I will talk about the music a little more and spend a little more time on that. So, yeah, let's definitely do that. I think our crowd would love that. Summer. I think there were some questions that you were going to pop up. I know there's a question about the championship. Yes, so Josh, shout out to Josh out of Cleveland man, appreciate you, don't take the butt whooping tomorrow personally on fantasy. You know we're going head to head, so don't take that personal. It's much love. It's much love my man. Who Much love. It's much love my man. Who you guys got winning the title? Man, I know Dolores had chimed in, I think she said the Lynx, but man, I don't know who you got Diego, I got the Indiana Fever winning the championship.

Speaker 2:

They have been red hot in the second half of the season, Kaitlyn Clark's been losing her mind and I think they're going to carry it all the way to the championship.

Speaker 3:

Okay, well, mind, and I think they're gonna carry it all the way to the championship. Okay, well, I'm rooting with the mvp. I got the aces man, I got the aces. I really think asia is gonna ball out. They rounded out the season a little bit better than I thought it was. It was looking a little rough in the beginning, but I believe they were coming in for him around playoff time and that's you know. It's all about the team that gets the hottest. So, honestly, but I'm not going to lie the way Kaelin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell play it's going to be real quick.

Speaker 1:

They're looking really good. I'm going to go with Dolores, I'm going to go with the Minnesota Lynx, I'm going to go with them. But it's tight, man, it's going to be a great story, no matter who wins, there's a big storyline all out. I'm really excited about the attention that the WNBA is getting. It's exciting and, yeah, this is going to be a lot of fun, so I can't wait to watch that. All right, well, hey, we've got to get on out of here. We've got dinner to get to. Hey, chris, christopher, it's been a pleasure, man, you bring a lot to the show. Thank you, my man. Let's do this again next week. Thank you for all the comments. This is a fire show. Appreciate it. Thank you, summer. Running things behind the scenes. Hey, chris, you know how we sign out. We're going to say pick them pros. All right, so let's give it to them One, two, three Pick'em Pros Later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later, later. Jordan, thank you. Outro Music.
