This is like episode 110, week two of the NFL season father-son dynamic duo and then also 12-year NFL vet former player, desmond Clark, who we've got a video from today. What's going on? My man Doing good, doing good man.

Speaker 2:

Ready for the show today.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, Definitely ready for the show. Man, Shout out to Johnny O of Whole Shots, All Things Motocross shouting us out here on IG. We appreciate you, man. Definitely make sure you check out. If you're into motocross, check out Whole Shots. That's another show that we've got under the umbrella. Johnny O's blowing up, getting crazy views, doing big things. So shout out to him Much love, All right, man. Well, hey, everyone's in suspense. Diego, If you are sticking with your Panthers or not, we'll get to that in a little bit. We're not going to touch on that just yet, but everyone's in suspense of that, so we can't wait to hear. Man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, man. Well, you got to tune in, find out and see if I'm going with him.

Speaker 1:

So that's a big thing. Also, your injury we you're bandaged up, um. You know we can't really on camera really get the full impact of what's going on, but I know your lip is swollen pretty big. You've got, uh, the bandage there, but it's uh, um, yeah, a lot going on there. So we got to get the, we got to get the lowdown on what happened with that uh and we'll we'll touch on that in a, in a second as well all right, all right, man.

Speaker 1:

So um, again, pick them pros. We're picking all the games. We uh have a fire show for you we're gonna get into. We're gonna recap week one. Week one got off to a great start. We had all 16 games. Desmond clark killed it. He was phenomenal. He went 14 and 2, so was phenomenal. You had a pretty good week too, man. You went 12 and 4 so, uh, that's your record. That's not bad. Well, this isn't about me you know what I?

Speaker 1:

mean, I'm a team guy. You know what I'm saying. So this is not about me, this is about my team. So I'm choosing to highlight my teammates. You know, you and Des. That's what I'm doing right now. You know what I mean. Okay, is that good for you? I?

Speaker 2:

don't know. I just want the people to probably want to know what your record is.

Speaker 1:

We will get to that. That is coming up very soon. I'm sure people want to know my record. That is coming up very, very soon, so we'll jump on that very soon. All right, man, hey, shout out the Kings. We had our show there last week. School basketball team will be, uh, joining us live on set to talk about the upcoming season, because clayton has got a fire basketball team and has a good shot to go all the way. So, uh, we can't wait to have him on. So that's going to be good. We have a lot of other special guests that we'll announce as well in the coming weeks.

Speaker 1:

All right, well, you ready to get into it? My man, yeah, ready to get into the show? All right, all right, well, let's get into this. Let's start off with recapping week one. Let's do that, and then we'll touch on many other things, but let's go into week one. Let's do that, and then we'll touch on many other things, but let's go into week one. So, before we do that, des sent a video that he liked to play in terms of week one, so let's go ahead and dive into that. I wonder what he's got to say about his week one victory lap. Let's hear it.

Speaker 4:

So I did something that was never done before in Pick'em Pro history A 14-2 week 14-2?. Have you ever done that, Derek? Have you ever done that Diego? No, I didn't think so. I did it, I did it and I'm looking to repeat that this week. So let's make that the number one thing. Hey, I kick butt last week and we're coming back to kick butt again this week.

Speaker 1:

Man, so so, so unnecessary, that's very unnecessary.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it wasn't very necessary yeah yeah, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know if that was quite necessary to say all of that. Des, yeah, yeah, interesting. But you know, if he wants to go that way, that's fine. You know, in true karma fashion Shannon Sharp, karma fashion he is 0-1 on this week right now. So we got the bills right, which we'll talk about in a little bit, so I think he's in line for a beatdown this week, but he got off to a start, he got off to a good little lead. You know we are the pros in this. You know he may have played professional football and all that. That's great, okay, but you know that that's solid, like you said that's solid yeah, I like the way you say that's solid des.

Speaker 1:

But when it comes to these picks, you know we, this is what we do. I mean, I was the undisputed champion uh, season one, right, and then you were the co-champ with him. So he's never. He's never won it outright. You know a lot of trash talking for somebody that hasn't won it outright, all right. Well, yeah, but let's get into man the recap there. So talk about, talk about week one, man. What, what stood out to you any, any surprises, or what's what's up with week one?

Speaker 2:

so week one was cool. Um, week one was cool. Um, I like the uh, uh, I like how the chiefs look. You know, against the ravens that was a solid game. And uh, yeah, I enjoyed week one. I enjoyed my record too. 12 and four, that's a solid record, you know, that's not bad. I mean second place this week, but on any4, that's a solid record. That's not bad. Got me second place this week, but on any given week that's usually going to get me first.

Speaker 1:

That would normally get you first. In week one there's so many upsets and I went crazy, I did a whole lot of upsets. I was a little reckless. Week one Picked a lot of upsets, but there were. I think the Steelers pulled the win out in Atlanta. That was one that stood out again. Chiefs took care of business, the Patriots that was a huge. That was a big, big surprise there, them winning that one.

Speaker 1:

You know the Bengals are the Bengals going to take shape? You had T Higgins had pulled the hamstring the Thursday before, before the season started. Some people are questioning the legitimacy of that. I wouldn't quite question that. But there is a lot of unrest on that team, with both receivers fighting to get paid and Burrow's wrist isn't quite where it needs to be. There's a lot of um, you know, red flags with the bangles, yet again to start a season. So they're looking. They're looking a little shaky, which again helps the chiefs, uh, coast through. But uh, yeah, man, yeah. But the bills, the buffalo bills, the Buffalo Bills, they look really good. They got off to a slow half against in their week one game. They got off to a slow first half but then, once they turned it on, they were great and they just played that right into Miami and beat down the Dolphins.

Speaker 1:

You called it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean I said the Bills wereills were gonna win, but I wouldn't go on to say they looked amazing. You know, in the first game they barely beat the Arizona Cardinals one of the worst teams last year at home. And then, um, this week against the Dolphins, tua got knocked out. Well, he knocked himself out the game. And then, um, yeah, and they had to play without Tua. And yeah, I don't know if the Bills really, uh, played all that great just in that game yeah, well, it's so in the.

Speaker 1:

Let's dissect that a little bit. So the week one game yeah, the Cardinals came out. They look good. Kyler Murray was flying all over the place, although he wasn't able to connect with Marvin Harrison Jr, so I was surprised by that. But I felt that once they got into the second half they were able to to to make up and look pretty good. But last game I thought they looked solid. I thought their defense looked really good before Tua got knocked out of the game. They were solid. They were solid. They the game.

Speaker 2:

They were solid, they were solid, they were solid.

Speaker 1:

They were okay and I also love how and I told you this in the offseason that they would be much more balanced this year. Not having digs, I think, helps them a lot. It's addition by subtraction. Josh Allen's able to just spread the ball to whoever's open. He's not worried about having to force feed it to somebody. So the Bills look a lot. The Bills look the best they've looked through this Josh Allen reign. I really like how they look. So I'm high on the Bills and I picked the Bills to win the AFC East.

Speaker 2:

They are not as good as they were when they first got Diggs. When they first got Diggs, like those first two years, that was when they were at their best, and then in the final few then it started to dip a little bit, but now I think they might be either equal to what they were last year.

Speaker 1:

Man, I think they're at an all-time, all-time great. So we disagree on that grade. We disagree on that one. We disagree on that one. But that's good, we're going to see. We're going to see as the season unfolds. Of course, the playoffs is what matters, because they've made the playoffs every year and they run into that juggernaut of the Kansas City Chiefs. The only people to knock the Chiefs out are Brady has done it twice and then Burrow and I believe that's it as far as the Mahomes-led Chiefs. So we'll see. But I like what I'm seeing with the Bills. I am encouraged You're not as high on them, but we'll see what happens when the playoffs circle around.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's touch on a few more topics within the Bills and Dolphins. And then we've got to go into your injury what's going on with you? And we've got to go into the Carolina Panthers what's up with the Panthers? We'll go into our week, two picks from there, all right. So let's go to Tua Hot topic with Tua, and I'm not going to go so much with the obvious.

Speaker 1:

Okay, everyone on talk radio the last few days has been saying you know, should he play, should he not play? We all know about the seriousness of head injuries and I'm quite sure that, um, you know, I don't know they may even do a buyout. Who knows knows what's going to happen with that. But setting setting the injury aside for a minute, because I kind of have a take on that, I I don't feel, injury aside, that Tua was really the best quarterback for that team. I think I'm in the minority from that. I wasn't all that impressed by what what Tua was doing. I feel that things really turned around once Tyreek came. And I think Tyreek, I think it's the same thing how Bryce Young looks awful in Carolina. I bet you, if you shipped Tyreek to Carolina, he would look amazing. And that's exactly what happened. That's exactly what happened to Tua in my opinion.

Speaker 1:

What's your take on that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, iryce is a good quarterback and he will be a good quarterback, but of course you put tyreek there, I mean, I mean, that's just, that's great too, but uh, tua, uh, yeah, you know too, that's a very interesting situation right there yeah very interesting, uh-huh.

Speaker 1:

And the comments are hilarious, so we'll have to acknowledge some of these. Y'all keep going at it in the comments. I love those summer. Thanks for managing the comments back there. And then if you have any questions, pop them up and we'll definitely answer those as we go throughout the show. So love, love, the participation on that. One last topic before we move on to our week two picks and all of that good stuff. Coach McDaniels man, what's your take on him? So again, he is kind of being coined as a genius, offensive genius came out of San Francisco most recently. He's been in the league much longer than that was with the commanders and other programs. But what's your take on him? Is he the real deal or is he also a product of Tyreek and Wylan and all these weapons that they have in Miami?

Speaker 2:

I honestly don't think that he is the real deal. I think he's a good guy, nice guy, but I just think he's been made look better a coach than he is because of Tyreek and Waddle.

Speaker 2:

They're talking about all these schemes that he runs. It's easy to run these schemes when you have two of the fastest receivers in the nfl yeah and the quarterback who can throw it very accurately yeah. Even though he's not maybe the best quarterback elite, the one thing you do is throw it accurate he is accurate like he is, so I mean, except when he throws oh, go ahead, I'm sorry, yeah, if you have all that speed, then it's, it's easy to get all those um to make the, to make the coach look good.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, yeah yeah, yeah, I, I agree with you, man. Um, you know he, I think he's a product of what is there and is as, and you know how it is. I mean, we, we build them up to tear them down. So, uh, mcdaniels was hot, but I just feel that as they continue to lose these games, the good teams, and as they start to lose some of these star players, the light's going to be shined on him and typically in coaching and really just anything in life.

Speaker 1:

A lot of times what gets you hired, gets you fired. His demeanor and the way he is with the players and the fact that he's more of a player's coach and kind of laid back and whatnot. That's great when you're winning, but then when you're not winning, that's frowned upon. I definitely can see at some point. It's probably going to take a year or so, but the fingers are going to start to uh to go there. So, yeah, it's. It's going to be interesting to see how things unfold in Miami. I don't see that last thing. I don't see them making the playoffs now with uh. Two are going out. What, what about you?

Speaker 2:

Um well, I don't know when. So I mean, if Tua makes a quick return, then I think they can still make the playoffs, depending on how quickly he returns.

Speaker 1:

Well, I don't think Tua's ever coming back Now. I think he's still going to Now, I think with Tua. So I'll touch on this a little bit. I feel with Tua he just signed a mega deal, right? He has $167 million dollars left. He's not walking away from 167 million dollars, okay. So what tua needs is he needs the dolphins to be the one to let him go so he can get his money. You know what I mean. So that's what's gonna happen. So it's gonna be interesting to see how that plays out. Will the Dolphins offer him a buyout? You know, I just don't know how that's going to happen. So I don't see him playing another down. But I also don't see Tua just saying hey, I'm retiring and you can have $167 million and not.

Speaker 2:

So you don't expect him to come back this year.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't, I don't so him to come back this year no I don't, I don't.

Speaker 2:

So just like spit out or like there are, you think they'll cut him, or?

Speaker 1:

No, I don't think they're going to cut him. They're going to have the doctors look at him. They'll go through all that and if the doctors determine that he can't play, I think they'll offer him a buyout, and so that's option one. If they don't offer him, it's $106, $7 million. I don't see Tua walking away from that. I don't think Tua necessarily will necessarily want to play, but he's going to want to make it to where the Dolphins release him instead of him leaving, because that's the money situation. So, yeah, it's going to be interesting to see how that plays out. So I mean, heck, if I'm Tua, I'll come in and just throw interceptions so they can pull me, so I can get my money. But anyway, we'll see how that plays out. Man, all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's move on to the Carolina Panthers. Diego, we got to hear what is up with your Panthers. So you picked the Panthers week one. We told you, we warned you not to do that. Dez accused you of betting with your heart and not your head. Just before we do that, what's your take on them with week one? We know you were high coming in this week. You were high on the coach, um, offensive line, bryce. All that. Tell us your thoughts on on game one.

Speaker 2:

Uh, you know, I just think a few mistakes were made early on the defensive side that you know the offense never really had a chance to get comfortable. You know, I think the coach might have made one mistake not having us run to start off, having just Bryce just sling it and just start off. Bryce just started running the ball at the beginning and then to get offense just comfortable and then have Bryce sling it around a little more. But mainly I blame this on the um defense. Defense was bad, very bad, okay, and we just lost our best defensive player who we paid a lot of money, um so for the whole season. So that's not good. So our defense was looking very bad and yeah, but I I believe in our offense. I think our coach is going to be able to have us have a very have a solid offense this year.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay, so you're okay, so you're hanging, so you believe in the offense. Even though Bryce did throw a pick, was it the very first play of the game he threw a pick?

Speaker 2:

Or was it like it was his?

Speaker 1:

first throw, his first throw, his first throw.

Speaker 2:

Okay so it wasn't the first play. It actually was when the Panthers got the ball. It was the first play.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, first play. Okay, all right, all right. Yeah, like I said, we've got to get the live cam in the man cave while you're watching the game so they can see your reactions to that. So we'll go into our week two picks here and we'll see if you are going to pick the Panthers this week. We can't wait to see that. But before we do that, let's play a quick video from Dez on his loss from the Buffalo Bills game. Because we won that. He got that one wrong. Let's play his reaction to that.

Speaker 4:

So, before we get started with this week, hey, I had to give you guys a game because I want this to stay competitive. You know how it is when you're watching a football game or a basketball game and it ain't competitive and people turn the page. Well, I don't want them to turn the page from the pick and pro everything that we're doing, all the shows and stuff we're doing, because if it's not competitive, I don't know that people want to tune in. So I gave you guys the game against the dolphins, the bills one, so that you guys kind of stay competitive. So you can thank me later for that. That's one that I'm going to give you and it's mostly for the fans, so you guys can stay competitive with me after 14 and two week, but I'm still going to dominate this week.

Speaker 1:

Sad man. Sad man, that's sad. What should I take on? Do you have anything to say about that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know I mean coming up with excuses. I mean that's just I don't know. That just doesn't seem right. You know what I mean? I don't know, that's just something wrong with that. Man Can't take being held to L man, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, I don't know. Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. That's interesting, des, yeah, des, we expect more from you, des.

Speaker 2:

We expect more.

Speaker 1:

Man. Come on, you expect more. Come on Des. Come on Des, and Des, where you at, where you at Des. So I think you said he was going to be here, right, but then as soon as that loss happened, then all of a sudden something came up. Now we know with his history, sometimes he goes missing, sometimes we have to send the authorities and find him. So I think he might be in hiding again. Diego, yeah, maybe I think so, man. I think so. All right, all right, well, let's get. So we've got 16 games this week. We agreed on 12. So that's a lot that we agreed on. We agree on 12. We normally don't agree on that many. We disagree on four. So there are four Island games. One of them already took place, which was the Bills game, which we got.

Speaker 4:

That one right.

Speaker 1:

Bills versus Dolphins. So there's three Island games that we'll talk about later, but we've got 12 what we call no-brainer games, games that we agree on. So let me pull up the graphic and let's go into these games and, again, keep your comments coming, bring your questions and we will dive into those, all right. So, man, thank you, summer, for this great graphic. It looks amazing. So we've got our no brainers. Man, why don't you kick us off?

Speaker 2:

All right. So first game is the Tampa Bay Bucks bucks going to detroit to play the lions. And we all have the lines, of course. Uh, tampa bay, they're a solid team. Uh, baker looked good in the opener. But the lions, they're just arguably one of the best teams in nfl and they're at home.

Speaker 1:

So I mean, that was just a no-brainer us all going with detroit yeah, yeah, i're going to Detroit, although I mean, hey, they had a great playoff battle there and Amon Ross St Brown had to catch a big catch to put that one out of reach when they faced each other a few months back in the playoffs. But again, this is in Detroit. Definitely expect them to get the win go up 2-0. What's up, wyatt Boy? What's up?

Speaker 2:

What's up's up, wyatt, wyatt in the building, they're a solid team. So, wyatt, they're, they're okay, okay team. But Detroit's another level. So, all right, let me know. All right, next game we agree on is, uh, the Vegas Raiders going to Baltimore to play the Ravens, where we all, we all are picking the Ravens. Um, the, the Raiders, they, they, they or lose. That I think they won, they lost, they lost actually. So I mean going to Baltimore. They haven't played in a week and a half after that loss to the Chiefs, which came down to the final play.

Speaker 2:

So you know, they've been looking forward to get on the win column and I think they blow out the Raiders on Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I feel sorry for the raiders on sunday. Yeah, I feel I I feel sorry for the raiders. Yeah, they're traveling to the east coast too.

Speaker 2:

Oh, boy, yeah, yeah, this is gonna be something yes, so uh third, third game we we all agree on is the cleveland browns going to jacksonville to play the jags, and we all have the Jags in this one. Cleveland they got off to a bad start last week, they didn't look so great on offense. And the Jaguars they had a close game with Miami last week and now they're at home in Jacksonville in the hot weather. So I think they pull it out. We all think they pull it out, yeah, in the hot weather.

Speaker 1:

So we, I think they pull it out, we all think they pull it out, yeah. And and deshaun watson man, he just he just has that look in his eye and it's not a good look that's in his eye. So I just don't see him. I just don't see him being the same. And now, with the latest charges coming up, you know, his head is clearly not in the right space and, yeah, they are just kind of spiraling. So I think Jacksonville takes care of business at home with being three-point faves.

Speaker 2:

And the next game that we agree on is the San Francisco 49ers going to Minnesota to play the Vikings. We all have the 49ers and Minnesota. They blew out the Giants, yes, last week. So uh, clap, clap, good for them. Giants are awful, but uh, san Francisco, they're one of the best teams and uh, they're, they're just a. I'll have to say they're just a better team and I think they're just gonna win. Yeah, they're better definitely.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah, 49ers, I mean, although they don't have McCaffrey, we're going to talk about that. We've got Roy joining us in our final segment, big, big 49er fans going to join us. So we're going to talk about the Niners. We're going to talk about McCaffrey going on IR Big deal. We told you guys he was on our do not draft list for fantasy, so we kind of saw that one coming. But yeah, even with all that said, 49ers win this game.

Speaker 2:

Yep, and the next game that we all agree on is the LA Chargers traveling to Charlotte, north Carolina, to play the Carolina Panthers. Okay, wait, I think that betting line is a little off. It says 50. It says 50. It says 50. I think it's 5.0.

Speaker 1:

No, no, no, no. I think it's actually. I think they are actually Come on man, that's just disrespectful.

Speaker 2:

okay, that's just. I know we lost we lost by 37 last week but that's just disrespectful. I don't appreciate that okay. Anyway, with that being said we're all picking the Chargers. I just can't pick the Panthers right now. I want to see them. I just want to see if they lose. I want to see them lose by a little less. By a little less, have a more highly contested loss, so I can them again.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right, wow, so you so breaking news, this breaking news diego is not picking the panthers this week, diego's picking the chargers. Is that? Did I hear that correctly? Is that, is that correct?

Speaker 2:

uh, yeah, I'm picking the chargers in this one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay okay, because I know your, your facial expressions. Again, we're going to talk about the injury in a minute, but I know you can't really smile, so yeah, you can't fully smile and you can't fully make certain faces because of the swollenness which we're going to talk about, that of what happened with that. But, uh, okay, all right, all right, I just wanted to make sure. I'm just trying to be clear for the audience. So clear, clear, clear communication. Okay, thank you.

Speaker 2:

All right. Sixth game we agree on, all agree on New Orleans Saints traveling to Dallas to play the Cowboys. And we all have the Cowboys in this one, of course, because the Cowboys they are at home, that's right, and they had a really good defensive game. Last week Offense looked solid. Zeke was hurling over people C. Last week offense looked solid. Zeke was hurling over people. Cd looked looked like he was practicing all offseason dat got paid um.

Speaker 2:

And new orleans uh, they're a solid team, but going into dallas that's going to be hard to beat them yeah, yeah, that it will be.

Speaker 1:

Uh will be hard to beat, to beat them, uh again, as you know, I speak fluent cowboy and the Cowboys are. I'm saying the Cowboys are going to win this week, so you can take that one to your bank and book that one Dallas Cowboy man Jerry Jones Jr may be making an appearance on that one, so yeah, Alright.

Speaker 2:

Seventh game we all agree on is the game of the week the new york giants traveling to washington dc to play the commanders. And, uh, we, we, all the commanders in this one, uh, yeah, just the. The see, the commanders are a bad team, okay, and they're at home, right, and the giants are an awful team. They're just like bottom of the barrel bad. So the commanders are less bad. So I think that that will allow them to win this game and home home field advantage yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree with that.

Speaker 1:

Uh, yeah, great, great, take on the game of the week. That's funny. Uh, yep, nothing else would be to add on that. We can move on.

Speaker 2:

And wait a minute.

Speaker 1:

We got the.

Speaker 2:

Rams. Yeah, wait, so do we all have the Rams or the Cardinals?

Speaker 1:

We all have. Well, I've got the Rams. You can take the Cardinals if you want to.

Speaker 2:

No, okay, well, why does All right? So we all have the LA Rams in this one, la Rams going against the Cardinals. Yeah, matthew, stafford Cooper Cup looked really good. Looked like 2021 Cooper Cup. We all think that they will bounce back from their loss last week against the Lions and beat the Cardinals in State Farm Arena.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, although that's a division game. Division games are always tough, so I wouldn't classify this one as a no-brainer, although we all agree on it. So it is technically, but it's a division game. Cardinals are at home. Cardinals did look pretty good in that first game.

Speaker 2:

And the Rams lost Puka.

Speaker 1:

Exactly that's where I'm going. Next, the Rams had some injuries, and it wasn't just Puka. So yeah, lnc Summer said thank you. Now the spread is even so. I'm actually surprised none of us went with the Cardinals on this one yeah. I'm shocked.

Speaker 2:

I was thinking about it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But but I think what happened is you and Des are scared of me because you know, by me having an off week, that first week by me, kind of, you know, doing some heat checks, I was doing some half court Steph Curry shots, like I said at Kings.

Speaker 2:

I was just why are you shooting a heat check and you're not even high yet? Like that doesn't make sense. Like Steph Curry is not, I don't care how Steph Curry is not going to pull one from half court. The first play of the game.

Speaker 1:

Because I'm I'm better than Steph Curry. I mean, that's basically what it means. I mean I, I can get hotter than than him. I mean I mean, dude, I won by one season, one undisputed champion, so you have a chip because you played basketball in eighth grade doesn't mean you're better than steph oh my god, let's not talk about my eighth grade basketball.

Speaker 1:

So I own that. I was the best eighth grade basketball player ever. I own that, that's that's. That's a fact. That's not even debatable. But that's not the point. That's not what we're talking about here. The point is um, we're talking about what are we talking about again? We're talking about heat check, right?

Speaker 1:

So we're talking about heat check and so again, I was messing around with you guys last week. I was making reckless picks and whatnot. Okay, it gave y'all a little cushion. Now it's down to business and you guys know, you guys know I'm bringing the heat this week. So you guys are scared. So you're just really just kind of picking all the favorites throughout because you know what's what's coming this week, and it's fine. I actually, I actually think that's a smart move. So because now I'm even though I'm a win since we agree on 12, I'm only going to win by a game. Ok, so I'm a chip in a little bit, but it's a long 18 weeks. We got a long way to go. So I mean, I'm still going to win by at least six, seven games at the end of the year. It's cool.

Speaker 2:

I think we should pull the graphic back up. All right, yeah, continue our discussion. Next game that we all agree on is the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to Denver to play the Broncos, where we all have the Steelers. In this matchup, I think Justin Fields is going to play solid. I just think the Broncos are bad. Bo Nix threw two interceptions. They don't have a good team. You can't even name three players in their team.

Speaker 1:

I can name two though.

Speaker 2:

Who? Who Name two Bo Nix even name three players in their team and, yeah, I can name two.

Speaker 1:

Though who? Who name two? Uh, bo nicks is one and dang I just named it the other day. Oh no, the running back. Do they stay out of running back? What's his name? Williams something? The carolina guy? Okay, the overrated car dude congratulations.

Speaker 2:

Those are top two players and I can name the coach. Yeah, okay, congrats. That's why we're picking the Steelers, that's why love it. And next game, next no brainer game. This is a chakra. This is a no brainer game, is a no-brainer game. Yes, Cincinnati. Bengals going to Kansas City to play the Chiefs.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

I was thinking about picking the Bengals, but I was like I can't really bet against my homes. I bet against them last week, so I can't bet against them two weeks in a row, right? So that's really why I picked the Chiefs, and them.

Speaker 1:

You know, yeah, yeah, I would have picked. You know I would have picked the Bengals, absolutely I would have picked the Bengals but with all the issues that are going on right now with them and Higgins, with the hammy and Chase not being paid and Burroughs' wrist, I can't pick, even I can't pick the Bengals to go in there and win. Now, watch them go in there and beat them. But yeah, I definitely could not pick that this week for sure. Yeah, yeah. So hold on. Now we got someone on IG who said Chiefs losing this one Hudson, hudson, harrell Hudson.

Speaker 2:

Harrell.

Speaker 1:

Hudson Harrell. He's a pretty Hudson.

Speaker 2:

Harrell Said they're losing. Okay, shout out to Hudson Harrell. He's a pretty cool guy.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, okay, see how I just go. Okay, hudson Harrell, I tell you what If the Bengals win, we'll get you some. You got a free piece of Pick'em Pro swag, all right, all right, all right, you heard it right here, all right.

Speaker 2:

Better roof of the bangles, hudson, that's right Next game. Next game is Sunday night football Chicago Bears going to Houston to play the Texans. And we all have the Texans in this one, just a high-powered offense with all their mixing Diggs Nico Collins, tank Devin and their defense looking really good with their new additions and their head coach really good, head coach and the Bears. I just I don't know about the Bears Like Caleb Williams looked like Justin Fields yesterday.

Speaker 3:

I mean last week.

Speaker 1:

So I don't know, I wouldn't go that far, but that's funny though. No, he did not look like Justin Fields, no, he's super 93 yards. I don't care, I said Justin. Fields type stat those are Justin Fields type stats, but the city of Chicago is ecstatic to have Caleb Williams.

Speaker 2:

They were ecstatic when they got Justin Fields.

Speaker 1:

Hey, I speak fluent. Chicago, okay, from chicago. So I claim that. And uh, yeah, I I speak on behalf of chicago. We are very happy to have caleb williams. Um, we does not matter, we won the game. Weren't you a Packers fan? I've been a lot of fans actually, but hey, I was in Chicago in 85. I was a little younger than you at the time, you were like seven, living there. When they won Super Bowl XX, I had the Willie Gault jersey. You know what I'm saying, so I know what I speaketh. When it comes to the Chicago Bears. So I rep very well when it comes to that. But man, who would have thought that two years ago that the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears would be the Sunday night game? Isn't that crazy? But it's a game that we're looking forward to because of Houston Tech, because of CJ Stroud.

Speaker 1:

I'm not looking forward to it Because of that bad man CJ Stroud, who should have been the number one pick in the draft.

Speaker 2:

I'm not looking forward to it. I'm not looking forward. I'm just not excited to watch the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans.

Speaker 1:

But dude you should. I mean, these are two guys that could have been Panthers. Okay, I don't care.

Speaker 2:

We have Bryce Young. They may have CJ and Caleb, but we have.

Speaker 1:

Bryce. The Sunday night game is the Carolina Panthers messed up bowl. Okay, because they could have had CJ. All right, cj is on his way to the Hall of Fame. Okay, they could have had Caleb bowl. Okay, because they could have had CJ. All right, cj's on his way to the Hall of Fame. Okay, they could have had Caleb Williams. Okay, he's on his way to the.

Speaker 2:

Hall of Fame this guy has won mid-year and now everyone treats him like he's Patrick Mahomes. He's at every party. He's partying with Travis Scott at the 4th of July party. He's winning all these awards for throwing 20 touchdowns. I don't know, I just don't get it.

Speaker 1:

But CJ's so efficient I mean, my goodness. His rookie year. He didn't throw a pick until what? His 6th or 7th game. Who is he throwing?

Speaker 2:

to.

Speaker 1:

I mean my God.

Speaker 2:

He's throwing to Nico Collins Tankdale and Stephon Diggs and Dalton Schultz, and now he's got Joe Mixon.

Speaker 1:

You know what I can argue that CJ Stroud made Tankdale and made Nico, that he made those guys because, where were they the year before Houston was?

Speaker 2:

awful. Tank Dells was a rookie. He was a rookie. He was coming in, he was supposed to be good, and now he's good, just like he was supposed to be.

Speaker 1:

I think it's CJ man, I think it's CJ. That's funny, okay. Well, let's wait to that tune in sunday night so you can see the, uh, the, the, the panther, what could have been bowl. I'm not watching. That's gonna be a lot of fun to see. All right, roy, we see you backstage. My man, we're gonna get to you in a little bit, all right, so we got one more no-brainer what we got all right, uh, more no-brainer.

Speaker 2:

What we got All right. Next no-brainer is the Falcons going to the Eagles and we all have the Eagles. Kirk Cousins he just didn't have a great game last week, threw two picks and the Eagles their offense looks good. Saquon seems to be fitting in their offense really well and I think they're going to pull it out at home and the crowd should be pretty energetic.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, I can't wait to see Saquon in this one. I've got Saquon in one of my leagues. Summer loves her, some hurts, but yeah, I can't wait to see Saquon. I've got him in one of my leagues and, yeah, I think they definitely take care of business here the.

Speaker 2:

I wonder, what week does um Penix Jr come in? That's, that's what I'm willing to see, because, um, I think they're gonna. They're gonna play Kirk this year to get their money's worth, but next year, uh, they may want to get pennix some reps, yeah it's gonna I don't even know if kurt has anything left, because he did. He is 36 and he tore his acl, he tore his. It's not easy to come back from yeah well, no, no, I think he tore he tore his achilles yeah he tore his achilles, and we saw how much that impacted rogers

Speaker 2:

yeah, rogers, he looked slow motion version of himself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it was a slow man man. He looked like michael jackson at the end of his career doing spin moves like looks like it was it was a way much slower version. So yeah, it was a lot different. Man for sure, yeah, that was a lot different. We've got a question on ig, uh, uh asking. What cj garris asked is digs the number one? Yes, digs the number one in houston, yeah, yeah, I think so.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and nico got. Nico had the most yards. Uh, tank, tank might be tank might be a contender for the most touchdowns, but just just overall, I think Diggs is going to be the guy, his go-to guy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think Diggs is definitely the guy. Will he get more than 50 yards Sunday? Need to know from my picks.

Speaker 4:

Ah, I tell you what so stay tuned.

Speaker 1:

We're going to talk fantasy, roy, uh, when he comes on.

Speaker 1:

So stay tuned to the end. We'll definitely dive into that uh. But yeah, I think he does get more than 50 yards, but we're gonna dive into, uh, more fantasy, uh then. So, yeah, thanks for the questions, keep those, keep those coming. We love, uh, love that, all right. Well, man, let's get to these. Let's get to these island picks. You ready for that? I'm ready for that. Ok, let's get to the island pick. So we went through our no brainers. There's 12 no brainers that we have, or 12 games that we agree on. There were four island games which you and I already won one. So Dez is already in the hole, so he he's got to hit on his island game. So there's three games. Each of us are on an Island for a game. We've got three games left. Des on the Island for one. I'm an alpha one, you're on the alpha one. Let's start with the game that Des is on the Island for, and we just happen to have his video. So let's go ahead and play that one, all right?

Speaker 4:

Ooh, this is my upset of the week right here the Tennessee Titans over the Jets. First thing I don't see why we have all this love for the Jets. Yeah, they got Aaron Rodgers, they got an older, washed up Aaron Rodgers. That defense is going to be pretty good. But I just don't see why we got all the love for the Jets. What about the Jets gets everybody going? I've seen the Tennessee Titans play against my Chicago Bears last week and I like this Tennessee Titans team. That defensive front is going to give that Jets offensive line fits and because they're going to give that Jets offensive line fits, and because they're going to give that Jets offensive line fits, the Jets won't score a whole lot of points. Tennessee Titans won't score a whole lot of points either.

Speaker 1:

I like this game 13-10, tennessee Titans face is funny, but you know what we got it well, he said he likes.

Speaker 2:

He likes the tennessee titans, yeah, yeah he said he likes the tennessee titans. Yes, he did. Yeah, he might have to get tested.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's right, you're not. You're not playing anymore, so we think we need to submit you to a test, because that was a little interesting yeah, it was weird.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like tennessee titans of the team straight face, all right. So, uh, yeah, we, we have the jets, um the jets, they have a ferocious defense. They have, um, even though aaron rogers may not be the same, they at least they still have garrett, they have. They have some pretty solid guys on offense, definitely enough guys to beat the Titans. I mean the Titans. They blew a 17-0 lead in the fourth quarter, so that's not good yeah yeah, I agree with that man.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what's up the Chicago Bears. Hey, now whoa, whoa, yeah they. They did blow it, they did blow that. Uh, now they're at home. You know they're opening up leave there. Are they opening up that new stadium? Oh? Is that ready now oh, that's not, that's, that's next season when they move into it I, I have no idea.

Speaker 2:

I don't. I would have heard about it was this year, but okay, it's not this year.

Speaker 1:

i've've seen the mock-ups look gorgeous, but okay. But yeah, we'll see what happens with that one. But yeah, we've got the Jets on that one. Dez has the Titans, so we'll see. That may be what causes him to lose. So let's go to the next island game. We've got the Seahawks versus the Patriots. Seattle is a three-point favorite. This is a one o'clock. This is New England. I believe this is a one o'clock. Seattle's a three-point favorite. I am going for the upset. I'm going with the Patriots.

Speaker 1:

I am high on the Patriots this year. I like what the coach is doing. He is the new Bill Belichick and I've got the Patriots winning this one by four. I've got a four-point win by the Patriots. I'm not sold on the Seahawks. They've got a new coach. They've got a lot of newness on that team, although the Patriots have a new coach as well. But I like how the Patriots looked in week one. Patriots are at home. They're getting back to their roots. They're playing strong defense. It's going to be hard for Seattle to score against them. They're a disciplined team. They had a really tough training camp and they're going to win this one by four.

Speaker 2:

So I have the same question I asked you about the Broncos. Can you name three players on the New England Patriots?

Speaker 1:

Let's have you do this quiz of naming players on the roster.

Speaker 2:

Can you do it?

Speaker 1:

I don't really quite think I have to do that. I don't know if that's a requirement.

Speaker 2:

I mean I don't see why you wouldn't answer it. It's just a question.

Speaker 1:

No, because that is offensive. You're offending my football knowledge by questioning if I would be able to name players on the roster, To name only two or three players. Some things are just so below you that you just cannot dignify it with a response. So that's just how I have to play that one man.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right, yeah I know I don't. I don't even know if I can name three players. Yeah, I'm going with the seahawks because I can name more than three players in the seahawks die.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that that's your take. You go with the seahawks. You can name more than three players in the Seahawks. Okay, that's your take. You go with the Seahawks. You can name more than three players. I actually like that, my man. All right, let's hear what Dez has to say on this one.

Speaker 4:

All right, let's talk about the craziest pick this week. Derek, I thought you was going to stop making these crazy picks and actually want to compete with me and Diego. But here you go again. You have the Patriots. I know the Patriots won last week, but come on, man, the Patriots not going to be good. Hold on the Seattle Seahawks. You got the Patriots beating the Seattle Seahawks. That's just not a good pick and I don't know if you're just trying to depict crazy picks so you can say you shocked the world and nobody thought that they. Yeah, yeah, but Seattle will win this game big over the Patriots. I like this game to be somewhere like 27 to 10. I said it first.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely ridiculous. Ridiculous it is. And to try to call me out like that again, I don't know why you guys are taking these awful shots at me this week. This is very, very offensive. You're picking something that you don't know why. You guys are taking these awful shots at me this week. This is very, very offensive.

Speaker 2:

You're picking something that you don't even know. Two players on.

Speaker 1:

I clearly have you guys running scared.

Speaker 2:

Can you even name two?

Speaker 1:

That's okay. I clearly have you guys running scared, but that's okay, you're going to see. Matter of fact, I'm going to give you a score. My man, I'm going to give you a score. My man, I'm gonna give you a score. Okay, 24 20. Book it, write it down. We're gonna come back, we're gonna play this. 24 20.

Speaker 1:

The new england patriots beat the seattle seahawks. Now, you heard it. You heard that here first by me, derrick thomas. All right, so let's move on to your island game. My man, we got one last game to cover before we bring our guy Roy on and we find out what's going on with you and why you can't smile. All right, shout out to Brandon Bean man, seahawks. Man, you're wrong. Brandon, seahawks are going to lose by far. I already gave you the score, brandon, so if you made a bet on it, you need to change it. You still have time. I'm telling you what's going to happen in that game, all right, so, my man, colts versus Packers, colts versus Packers. Now, dez actually changed his pick. He made it on one side and then he changed it and this caused you to be on the island. Go ahead and tell us who you got in this one.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, I have the Green Bay Packers in this one. I know they don't have joy and love, but they are at home and I feel like that's the home field advantage is big for the Packers. They're at home, having their crowd there. They have Josh Jacobs look really good in the opener. They have a talented offense with your guy, jane Reed, christian Watson, dobbs solid defense the colt. They have anthony richardson and jonathan taylor. But I mean going into green bay and winning. That's just pretty hard to do. And the packers defense they're solid.

Speaker 1:

So packers okay, and again you, you do realize that love is not playing. You, you know, joy, love is not playing.

Speaker 2:

I know he's not playing. I believe in the backup.

Speaker 1:

Do you believe in the backup? Name the backup. I will name the backup. Do you even know his name?

Speaker 2:

Malik Willis, that's the backup. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I've got to verify that.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Brandon, you're fat. Fat. Check that, brandon. Tell us if that's the guy's, because I don't even know.

Speaker 2:

I claim now I mean I don't know, third round pick from a few years ago, third round pick from about two, three years ago.

Speaker 1:

That's accurate.

Speaker 2:

You see, johnny, that's accurate.

Speaker 1:

No, johnny don't know what he's got. You know how much yak Johnny is sipped so far. Right now it's 8 o'clock at night on Saturday, so we cannot believe anything that Johnny O says. So that's just. You can just remove that from the table. You can just remove that. Strike that from the record, all right, all right. Well, let's hear what Dez has to say about this one. Okay, your island.

Speaker 4:

So Diego picked the Packers over the Colts. Diego, do you know that Love is not playing Jordan? Love is not going to be in this game. Without Jordan Love, the Packers don't stand a chance at all. So I have the Colts beating the Packers and I have the Colts not just beating them. I like this by at least seven or eight point margin, which is a large spread in the NFL. Give me the Colts not just beating them. I like this by at least seven or eight-point margin, which is a large spread in the NFL. Give me the Colts over the Packers and I'm just going to extend my lead this week. I'm glad that you guys are picking all these crazy picks. I'll probably be 14-2 again and I'll get an insurmountable lead going into week three, which I'll pick this week.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, man, you know without. Jordan Love. Without Jordan Love, the Packers are nothing. Jordan, I mean, Jordan Love wasn't even playing that good at the first half of last year. I mean the Packers will be fine.

Speaker 1:

And the Packers were terrible. The first half of last year.

Speaker 2:

They will be way more without Jordan. They were the seventh seed.

Speaker 1:

If they hadn't have changed the rules, they wouldn't even have made the playoffs last year.

Speaker 2:

They changed the rules five years ago.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well still All right. Well, hey, man, let's move on to your injury. And then we got my man, roy, in the background, so we're going to talk about some final hot topics before we close the show. We've made all of our week two picks, so we're ready. And also, let's talk about what all this benefits. So Dez won week one. Okay, so $200 goes to his cause, which is United Way of Central Florida, I believe it is. So United Way of Central Florida gets two hundred, and when I win, somebody is going to benefit from that. So we all play for various causes, and that's what this is all about. So we're also giving back to the community while we make these amazing picks. So I wanted to mention that. All right, but but, diego man, you got the bandage on there. Your lip is swollen pretty big and, uh, we understand, you're not able to smile or make certain facial laugh. Yeah, laugh, you're not really able to laugh and do certain things like that. So, um man, what? What happened?

Speaker 2:

So I was right here. I was covering the guy. He had a contested catch. I was trying to rewind it, so I was covering him.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so you're standing by the.

Speaker 2:

I'm standing to the right of the ref.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're standing to the right of the ref, all right, you're standing right to the right of the ref, okay. Right to the right of the ref, all right, you're standing right to the right of the ref, okay right to the right of him.

Speaker 2:

All right, then I run. He makes contested grab yeah I'm trying to knock it out. I'm trying to knock it out right, and then I try to go tackle and then go for the legs and then yeah, so you have a leg, it goes, it caught, it catches against my uh face mask right there man yeah, I see his foot right in your face mask it gets me. My lip is swollen, it was like bleeding and everything, so yeah, man.

Speaker 1:

So so his cleat, his cleat actually caught you yes, it caught his cleat yeah, man dang. But then, but see, you were down, you pop right up. So you, you had a cleat, go through your face and pop right up yeah. Yeah, it's pretty painful did you go back in the game because you had you had to come out right oh yeah, I came out.

Speaker 2:

I was out for a few minutes, the rest of the half, and I came in the second half and, uh, and yeah, so they're able to save us. Well, not save us because we lost, but but it was okay okay, all right all right, so so so you're fine, you're in all seriousness, you're fine.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm okay. Okay, okay, all right. Well, we're happy, we're happy, you're good. You went back in there and then we know you guys have a big game this upcoming week, so we're excited about the big game that you have coming up against NRCA. So you definitely got to take care of business on that, all right, okay, all right, man, all right. Well, hey, roy, man, are you there? Man? Okay, cool, we see, roy.

Speaker 1:

So let me adjust here and let's bring our guy Roy in Hold on one second, Roy. What's going on, man? What's up man? How you doing, we doing good.

Speaker 3:

Doing good how about you.

Speaker 1:

Pretty good, pretty good, all right, good, good. Well, this is just our picks and everything here man good to see you out in the West Coast, representing San Fran.

Speaker 3:

Man. So how are you feeling about your boys?

Speaker 1:

The CMC situation. Well, we'll talk about CMC, but just the 49ers as a whole. Well, tell you what? Yeah, go ahead and start with uh cmac, and then we'll just talk about the 49ers as a whole, but let's, let's start with uh cmap okay.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so they did place him on the injured reserve, obviously, which means he's going to be out for four weeks, but I think that jordan mason did just as good as cmc would have, and I feel like we should ride with Jordan Mason until CMC does get back. So I think we'll be just fine. Let those guys rest, as well as Hufanga and Greenlaw, and you know, I feel like we're going to just keep winning. Yeah, four weeks is rough. I see some in the comments. Four weeks is rough, but I think Jordan Mason can hold it down. The team that we have, I think they'll hold it down for now.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right, all right. What's your thoughts on that, diego?

Speaker 2:

Because I know, did you have C-Mac on your do not draft list? No, I didn't have him on my do not draft list, but I was careful because when he had his big year in carolina a few years ago, after that he like he's injured. He only played two games and then the next year he like didn't play that much either. So, uh, people were, people were uh didn't agree with me because they're like that was just because he was on the panthers. Um, he was a, it was on a bad team. He got banged up, but it's the same like he was taking the same even more, maybe even more workload last year on the niners.

Speaker 1:

So you know, I knew it was a possibility he could get banged up okay yeah yeah, so so okay, so 49ers as a whole, but we know they're loaded team. They're still very much loaded. A lot of people are coming up to get paid and you're starting to pay people, so we don't know how long the Niners are going to be able to keep this group together, but they're together right now. So you have them and C-Mac will be back. So how do you feel about their chances to get back to the Super Bowl and maybe even ultimately win it?

Speaker 3:

I feel like this year, I feel like like throughout the whole league, this year is going to be way more competitive than it was before because of all the great rookies that we have and the great rookie quarterbacks and I think that I think that we will get back to the Super Bowl. It will be tough, but the teams that are standing in our way is Green Bay when Jordan Love does get back Detroit and Philadelphia. Okay, we'll get through those guys and I think we will be able to get back to the Super Bowl. It'll be against the Chiefs or it'll be against Houston.

Speaker 1:

Okay, chiefs or Houston, okay, yeah, now I noticed out of the NFC you didn't mention the Dallas Cowboys as a as a team that you have to get through Is is there any concern whatsoever about the Dallas?

Speaker 3:

Cowboys or the Cowboys. There's nothing else to say there. The Cowboys are going to be the Cowboys.

Speaker 2:

All right All right Stack Prescott.

Speaker 3:

That's the onlycott, that's the only, that's the only problem?

Speaker 1:

uh-huh, okay, all right. Hey, we heard it. Heard it here from, uh, from our guy roy. So nah, man, um, wow. So how about fantasy, fantasy football? So you are one of the one of the players that are in the Pick'em Pros Fantasy League, and I know you're in several leagues, like we all are. I know I'm in four, diego's in three, I believe you're in four as well. What's your take on just the fantasy? We're just going into week two, but how do you feel about your drafts? How do you feel about your teams? How do you feel about fantasy?

Speaker 3:

So I've been doing like you. You know a lot of mock drafts before you know the actual draft dates. So I feel like I feel really good about my teams um one of my leagues. My only um concern is my receivers. I have I'm not too sure, but malik neighbors have been doing good. I have malik neighbors mike evans and george pickens, so those are my starters. Mike Evans did really good. I don't have no concern about him and then Malik neighbors because of his quarterback situation and we'll see how George Pickens does. But overall I feel like I did pretty good on my draft.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay, now let's go specific to the Pickens Pros League. We have a very unique league. We are a 13-team league, lucky 13, where we have a 14-week regular season. So everybody plays each other once. Every team gets a bye, one bye through the regular season and then the top 10 teams make the playoffs through the regular season and then the top 10 teams make the playoffs. Teams what seven through 10 play the first round, the first six teams get a bye and it goes like that. But how'd you do week one? How's your team? How are you feeling about fantasy? And then in summer, please pull Brandon's up, because I want to acknowledge Brandon here in a second, but tell us about your squad in the Pick'em Pro League.

Speaker 3:

My squad actually did really great. Shout out to Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 1:

You got Saquon.

Speaker 3:

He did really good. Yeah, I have Saquon. I have Saquon in three of my leagues, so yeah, I went not too high on him, but yeah, I did get him like somewhere like the first second round. But my team did really good and I um, I'm in first in my division because I just realized that we had divisions too after like the score and stuff got settled well, yeah, and then I feel pretty good about my team overall. They did pretty good. Week one. I feel like a lot of players, I feel like week one was too great for the NFL. Maybe this week will be better, but yeah, I feel pretty good about it. And then my other leagues. I scored the most points and I'm first in those leagues as well, so hopefully we can keep it going. Players stay healthy.

Speaker 1:

Doing your thing. Doing your thing, okay, yeah, yeah. So, diego, how are you feeling, man? I believe you took a big loss.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I lost in all three of my leagues this week. Last week was pretty rough, but I plan on bouncing back for sure. I lost Puka Nakua in both leagues for four weeks, but he was my number two receiver. I had Justin Jefferson as my number one, so I'm not too worried about losing Pucca, but I'm confident I will beat Brandon this week and establish dominance in the Pick'em Pros League.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you're playing Brandon this week. Yeah, oh, nice, okay, good. So that's a good segue to what he's got up here. So he said 1-0 start, and okay. And he says here plan on beating Diego this week, nice, oh, I love it. I love it.

Speaker 2:

I love the trash talk.

Speaker 1:

I love the trash talk. This is great. Yeah, man, we also the three pick and pros. We all lost week one. We all lost week one, so we all took a dive in week one. But the beauty of this league is that all we got to do is get in the playoffs. So, top ten, it's about building your roster for that playoff run, because once the playoffs come, it's one and done so. It's just about peaking at the right time and being ready there. And yeah, I like my squad, my squad. Let me see how I can. I don't know who I can really compare it to. Well, you know, I guess I could kind of compare it to like the Kansas City Chiefs, you know to where the regular season just kind of coasting through, just doing enough, and then when the playoffs hit, oh man, I'll be firing, I'm going to be playoff Kelsey when the playoffs come.

Speaker 3:

That's going to be real competitive, especially with the divisions too. So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 1:

I like that. Summer says she's in trouble as Lamar James Cook, which is awesome, but everyone else you drafted is trash. There isn't anyone left available. I don't have anyone worth trading, oh my goodness. Oh yeah, I've got to look at your roster. I should add, I also have Waddle, but I can't afford to lose him. Oh yeah, I've got to look at the rest of your roster. Who's your quarterback?

Speaker 2:

Lamar, he is Lamar.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I've got to look at the rest of your. Who's your quarterback? Lamar, yeah, lamar. Oh, so she did. She just said you had Lamar, okay, so, no, that's a great piece. So you've got Lamar. Lamar's going to get some running touchdowns. He's going to get some more throwing touchdowns. I think he's going to start connecting with Zay. You've got Waddle.

Speaker 1:

The thing is Summer, so of summer. So your, what you've got to do is really look at the waiver wire and by you being in your position, you have first dibs to pick anybody up. So, just like how you've got the backup to McCaffrey. You know you should have, you should have been able to get him, but that's going to happen. Other other top players are going to go down, so your hope right now is to get the backups. Are going to go down, so your hope right now is to get the backups. So I would even try to scour and maybe get the key backup to a key player and then slide in that way. That's how you can rise up, because it's a long season, a lot of people are going to get hurt, so I would go with the backup. Any other advice you could think of? Diego.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, waiver wire, that's important. James Cook, he think of diego. Yeah, uh, waiver wire, that's important. Um, james cook, he's gonna be good uh, so that's good that you have him. He had like three touchdowns on thursday for the bills, um, so, yeah, I mean, the waiver wire is really your only hope right now. Yeah, figuring out who's uh, who are the some of the top guys that people are sleeping on?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but, summer, don't let people take your players, because I know folks are probably hitting you up with some awful freight requests, so don't let them take the key people that you have Now. If they're offering you something that will help your team, great, but you know what the trash offers are, so don't fall for those. All right, cool, cool, well, let's see. And Brandon said you know what the trash offers are, so don't don't fall for those. All right, cool, cool, well, let's see. And Brandon said oh, oh Brandon. Oh man, you play me week 10. You better, man, brandon. You better eat your Wheaties that week, man, because it's going to be, it's going to be rough.

Speaker 1:

Oh, and then you got summer summer, summer's going to have all the stars in week 11 because she's going to have all the backups that are actually playing, so, brandon, that that might be a loss. Loss. Week 10 and 11 all right, well, hey, roy man, before you, before you. Uh, roll man, you have any, any questions? Uh, for us before you, before you roll oh, I was gonna ask, diego.

Speaker 3:

So why are you hating on cj stroud? What's up with that man?

Speaker 2:

no, I'm not hating on CJ Stroud, I'm just speaking the facts.

Speaker 3:

It's not facts. That dude is awesome Bryce.

Speaker 2:

Young, was he not picked ahead of CJ Stroud?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, he was.

Speaker 2:

Did he not win the Heisman over CJ Stroud?

Speaker 3:

Yes, but it's not about the quality.

Speaker 2:

In the head-to-head game they played. Did bryce young not beat cj shroud he did.

Speaker 3:

But who I mean? What team made it further in the playoffs?

Speaker 2:

you know, I said more of a team. You, you know scenario. You're right, you're not wrong about that.

Speaker 3:

But hey, you've had all these off seasons to build the team, man and I don't know man. The Panthers have been bad for a really long time.

Speaker 2:

You know, I think you know Bryce gets the right people around him, then he will be all right. He will be all right.

Speaker 1:

Hey, hey, hey, Roy, if Bryce can get Tyreek and Waddle and Mostert and some of those guys.

Speaker 2:

Make a trade Tua for Bryce.

Speaker 3:

What do you guys think about that Tua situation? What do you guys think of it? How should he go about that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's tough. I mean I think that he shouldn't play. So let let me lead with that. Um, however, it is delicate because he just signed a 200 something million dollar deal and has 167 million, I believe, left. So I'm I'm quite sure you know his agent and financial advisors and all of them. Although the doctors will say, hey, you know, you probably shouldn't play, I'm sure they'll want to work it to where he is not leaving the guaranteed money on the table and how does that?

Speaker 1:

how does that play out? Um, I can, I can see a buyout possibly happening. You know, maybe if the doctors come and say that you know, hey, you shouldn't play, I could see maybe they offer him a hundred million, you know buyout, or 80. I don't know what number it is, but I wouldn't be shocked if something like that happened. But I definitely don't think he should play. I mean, his hands and everything locked up on the last concussion and when it happened again this time, I mean that's, that's clearly a very dangerous situation. So you know he shouldn't play, but at the same, and but while that happens, I'm sure they're going to do whatever. I'm sure he's going to do what he can to try to get as much as that guaranteed money as possible without playing. So how does that shake out?

Speaker 3:

right, yeah, yeah, that's a good take on it. I don't. I think, um, I don't think he should play. No ifs, ands or buts. It's happened what? This is his fourth concussion, or third?

Speaker 1:

it's his fourth if you include the one in college. So I think he's had three in pro and then one at Bama, so four that we know. I'm sure he's had other concussions too, right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and then the fact that his hands locked up again. It's just like, man, at some point your life is more worth than football. I mean, your life is worth more than football, right? More worth than football. I mean, your life is worth more than football, right? So I don't, I don't think he should play. Yeah, yeah, overall, yeah, that's, that's a tough situation to deal with for him. Yeah, it is hope all is well with that guy man.

Speaker 1:

Nothing but respect yeah, yeah, me, me too, me too, and I'm happy he was able to get last season in, because two years ago because that's why they didn't, you know, they were waiting to pay him and then he was able to have all of last season without any, any issues, and he was able to sign that deal. So hopefully, you know, hopefully it can work out to where he doesn't play but yet maybe gets at least some of that, you know, some of that money.

Speaker 3:

So, yeah, yeah, All right, now we'll see what happens, see how it pans out. But hey man, I'm excited for these games tomorrow and we'll see how that goes. Thank you guys for having me on always.

Speaker 1:

Can't wait, man.

Speaker 3:

It's a pleasure Always.

Speaker 1:

Hey, and when we're man, when we're on your side of town cause we definitely we got out to cali this summer but, um, I don't think we were close by you but when we're in on the west coast, we will definitely hit you up yeah, of course all right yeah all right you guys have a good one.

Speaker 3:

Keep going with your football, diego, all right thank you, thank you of course man, you all right, cool, cool.

Speaker 1:

yeah, man, always a pleasure, always a pleasure, man asking about what, what we do here with Pick'em Pros and we're gonna hop off of here in a second, but, um, go ahead and put your questions in if you have any questions, because we're just gonna end with that.

Speaker 1:

But, um, yeah, man, we love the relationships that we've been able to build with our subscribers and, uh, being able to have you know them, on being able to have Roy, on being able to have Silas, on being able to have them, on being able to have Roy, on being able to have Silas, on being able to have Brandon, on it's just so much love, man, josh, david Cook, you see, all these guys that we message with back and forth all the time.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes I might be a little slow getting back with you just because we've got so much going on, but we definitely try to reply to you as fast as possible and really appreciate all the engagement. Speaker 1:

We're about to get a real good workout this night, but we're gonna get under the lights on the turf. We're about to go work out right now. So that's how we do it, all right. All right, we got any final questions before we roll, don't? Okay? Yep, I see hesitant. Nope, I think we're good. Everyone asked their questions through the show. We're good, all right?
